The Mystery of the 38th Week (September 17-23)

0

Welcome to the 38th week of the year! The 38th week is the third week in the sixth 49 days. It is a third season week. It is September 17-23 in a clear year and September 16-22 in a leap year. The Bible patterns for understanding the 38th season are (1) the narrative of the third day of creation, the 38th book of the Bible, the 38th chapters of the Bible, and the third three chapters of Joshua, the sixth book of the Bible.

Week 38 is a third-day-of-creation week. On the third day of creation, God dismantled the water-veil sitting between heaven (firmament) and earth (dry ground). The moving of the waters made the earth visible, connected heaven and earth, and released the earth to bring forth vegetation (the sustenance locked up within the earth. Heaven gives access to the earth in the 38th season. The third season is the season of ‘the last battle’ against barriers. The season is a season of breakthroughs. It is a season of answers to prayer. It is a season when desires are granted. It is the season when God grants salvation to the distressed. It is a season of deliverance. It is a season of escape from death and bondage. Death comes in this season; the wicked also rise in this season; but God grants deliverance from both death and wickedness in this season. Heaven overthrows the wicked and wickedness in the 38th season. Be hopeful and expectant. This is a week of manifestation, access, visibility, and release for those who are in the trap of the wicked and oppressive.

Week 38 is a 38th-chapters-of-the-Bible week. In Genesis 38, Judah had three sons but lost two of them  to death because of their wickedness. He also lost his wife, Shuah, in this chapter. The first son died because he was wicked before the Lord. His younger brother died because he refused to do the lawful by raising children for his deceased brother. In Judah’s bid to protect his third son from death, he took steps that would have closed the tribe-line of the Messiah; until Providence intervened and gave him twin boys through his inadvertent night-affair with his veiled daughter in-law. The enemy did everything to hinder Tamar from having children. The enemy wanted her to be a fruitless sex machine. The men that came to her only wanted her for pleasure; but she knew she should have children for the House of Judah. The kingdom of darkness sensed the Ruler in Judah would come through her; and fought hard to see her name does not appear in the Messiah’s genealogy; but God destroyed the veil of hindrance to fruitfulness over her life. She engaged a strange idea that changed things for her. God showed her mercy. In this 38th week, the Lord will deliver you and your family from disasters and reproaches targeting families in the 38th season. This week, the Lord will keep you from losing the seed of your next generation as it happened to Judah’s family in the 38th chapter of Genesis. He will also overthrow any circumstance that wants you to be unproductive.

In Exodus 38, work continues in the tabernacle with the making of the altar of burnt offering, bronze laver, and other materials of the tabernacle. It is on the altar of burnt offering that sacrifices are laid. That’s where heaven and earth come together. The tabernacle was, in the Old Covenant, the meeting place between God and men. In Job 38, God took over and began to question Job. That servant of God had never heard the voice of God since his trouble began. He had spoken. His wife and friends had spoken; but God remained silent. Now a breakthrough came from God. Week 38 is a week of open heaven. Psalm 38 is a desperate cry to the Lord for mercy, intervention and help. The Psalmist began with his fears and circumstances, continues with his response and attitude, and ends with an SOS (save our soul) or SMS (save my soul) call: ‘But my enemies are vigorous, and they are strong; And those who hate me wrongfully have multiplied. [20] Those also who render evil for good, They are my adversaries, because I follow what is good. [21] Do not forsake me, O LORD; O my God, be not far from me! [22] Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation!” (Psalm 38:19-22). The 38th season is for crying out to God for intervention. In 1998, the 38th year of Nigeria, the tenth Nigerian leader, Sani Abacha, died in office. Unfortunately, many Nigerians rejoiced at his death. That same year, Olusegun Obasanjo, the 12th Nigerian Leader, was released from Sani Abacha’s prison.

This 38th week, the Lord will show you great mercy and deliver you from enemies and adversaries. In Isaiah 38, God sent Isaiah, the prophet with a word to Hezekiah, to tell the king, in the fourteenth year of his reign, that he would die from his sickness. The king had no son at this time. The king cried to God. The Lord heard him and extended his life by 15 years. Within the 15 years, his son, Manasseh was born. The Lord grant you escapes from death as He granted king Hezekiah in Isaiah 38; and as he granted the 38th ‘breakthrough’ President of the United States, Gerald Ford; who narrowly escaped assassination, twice in September 1975.  The second and last attempt happened September 22; in the 38th week of that year. The two women who wanted to kill him, each spent over three decades of their lives in jail. This week, those who want to hurt you will hurt themselves. In Jeremiah 38, the princes of Judah threw Jeremiah into a miry dungeon so he could starve and die there – because he told them the truth. Ebed-melech, the eunuch, pleaded to king for Jeremiah’s life. The king authorized him to get 30 other men and pull the prophet out of the dungeon. In this week of escape from death, the Lord give you such breakthrough as He gave His prophet, Jeremiah; and as He granted Olusegun Obasanjo in 1998, the 38th year of Nigeria, when he was released from prison – about one month after the death of Sani Abacha. In Ezekiel 38, God said He would rise against Gog and her allies “with pestilence and bloodshed…flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone” for daring to attack God’s people. This 38th week, the Lord will rise against those who rise against you.

Week 38 is a book of Zechariah week. In Zechariah, the 38th book of the Bible, the Lord rose against the horns that scattered Judah; rebuked satan for resisting Joshua the high priest, and changed the filthy garment of the high priest. He also made decrees to restore the glory of His people. The Lord gave  Zechariah visions (revelations) in the first six chapters of the book; and released His Word in the remaining 8 chapters. This week of mercy, intervention, and escapes from death, may your inner eyes open to see and understand what God would be showing you; and may your ears be open to hear what Heaven will broadcast; as it happened in the fourteen-chapter, 38th book of the Bible. Zechariah had deep communion with God in the 38th book of the Bible. He had opportunity to ask questions and receive answers. The Lord showed, and taught, him things on a very intimately level. The 38th week is a season of deep communion between heaven and earth. The veils of the season will not blind your eyes or close your ears.

Week 38 is a Joshua 9-12 week. The book of Joshua is the sixth book of the Bible; and is applicable to the sixth 49 days (seven weeks) of the year. The 4 chapters in the third division of the sixth book of the Bible is applicable to the third week in the sixth 49 days of the year. Joshua 9-12 are about Israel’s conquests and victories in Canaan. In the ninth chapter, the Gibeonites submitted to Israel after deceiving Joshua. They deceived Israel into making a treaty and a covenant with them; for fear of destruction. That was how they escaped being wiped off. Though they became servants in Israel, the idea that saved their lives must have come from deep thought and meditation. In the tenth chapter, Joshua conquered the south lands. In this chapter, the heavens and  the luminaries (creatures of the fourth day) cooperated with Israel against her enemies. In the eleventh chapter, Joshua and Israel conquered the northern lands. The chapter closed with a record of Joshua’s victories. The 12th chapter is a record of kings conquered under the leadership of Moses; and those conquered under the leadership of Joshua. After the 12th chapter of Joshua, the remainder of the book is about the distribution of the land. The 38th week is a season of recovery and triumphs in the year. It is a season of victory over death and barrenness through deep communion. This is a week of generating productive yoke-breaking ideas.

Week 38 is Ecclesiastes – Amos week in the sixth 49 days of the year. Going through any seven weeks is like taking a journey through the Bible. Every seven-week season has an Old Testament side and a New Testament side. The first four weeks of the season belongs to the Old Testament side and express the 39 books of the Old Testament. The remaining three weeks of the season constitute the New Testament side and express the 27 books of the New Testament. The third week of the season is the third week in the Old Testament side of the seven weeks; and expresses the third 10 books of the Old Testament and the Bible. In the third 10 books of the Bible, God sent His prophets to speak to the people. They confronted the people, warned them against judgment, comforted the faithful, and brought judgment on the arrogant. The third week is for the overthrow of the rebellious and establishment of the humble and just. How you fare in this week depends on your attitude and response to the word of God. This is a day of prophetic confrontation and judgment. Repentance and crying out for mercy is a game-changer.

This week, I pray the Lord will grant you deep and productive encounters; and open doors for you to receive great ideas that will change lives and things around you.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Pray that God will pour out abundant mercy and turn things around for people in distress as the psalmist prayed in Psalm 38; as God had mercy on Hezekiah in Isaiah 38, and on Tamar in Genesis 38 and on the man who suffered 38 years in John 5. This is a week to cry out to God and receive intervention.

2. Pray that God will raise an intervention-force for people in need as He used Ebed-melech to help Jeremiah in Jeremiah 38.

3. Pray that the Lord will bring down hindering oaks and cedars in the nations as He did to Gog In Ezekiel 38.

4. Pray that you would see, hear, and understand what the Lord will be showing you in this week of revelations as it was with Zechariah in the 38th book of the Bible.

5. Pray that the Lord will raise His craftsmen to terrify the horns scattering communities and nations as He did for Judah in the 38th book of the Bible.

6. Pray that this will be a week of reconstruction and restoration in the House of God (locally, nationally and globally) as in the 38th book of the Bible.

Happy 38th week – of mercies, interventions, and escapes from death!
