The Mystery of the Fifth Week

Welcome to the fifth week of the year (days 29-35). This is the second major fifth in the year. The first is the  5th day. The others are the 5th month and the 5th seven weeks (49 days). The Bible patterns for understanding the 5th week are 1) the narrative of the fifth day of creation; 2) the fifth book of the Bible, 3) the fifth chapters of the Bible, 4) fifth seven books of the Bible, 5) the fifth seven chapters of the Bible, and 6) the fifth seven chapters of Genesis.

The fifth week is a fifth day of creation week. On the fifth day of creation, God made the sea creatures and the birds of the air. The fifth day of creation was a sea-heaven-earth day. The sea creatures are for the waters, and the birds for the earth and heavens. The birds fly above the earth and across the face of the firmament of the heavens. The move of God in the fifth season touches all realms – air, land, and sea. The fifth day was unique in so many ways:

It was the beginning of marine and avian life

It was the beginning of movement on earth, water, and air.

It was the beginning of flesh and blood creation.

It was the beginning of voice-sounds.

It was the beginning of sensory perception – taste, touch, smell, sight, audition.

It was the beginning of sexual reproduction.

It was the beginning of blessings of fruitfulness and multiplication).

What God did on the fifth day of creation is expressed in the fifth book and fifth chapters of the Bible; and should be made real in your life in the fifth week and season. God began to bless His creation on the fifth day of creation. He did not bless anything until the fifth day. The fifth chapter of Matthew opens with the beatitudes. May this fifth week of the year be loaded with blessings for you.God made fish and other sea creatures in abundance on the fifth day of creation. In the fifth book of the Bible, God said Israel would eat bread without scarceness in the Promised Land. In the fifth chapter of Luke, Peter and his friends toiled all night to catch but caught nothing. Jesus stepped in, told Peter what to do, and moved him from scarcity to abundance. May this fifth week be a week of abundance for you.God began to make perceptive and intelligent creatures on the fifth day of creation. In the fifth chapter of Second Kings, the servant of the man of God tried to deceive Elisha but got caught. In Acts 5, Peter detected the lies of Ananias and his wife. They both died for their deception. This fifth week of the year, no one will be able to deceive you.God began the creation of flesh and blood on the fifth day of creation. In the fifth chapter of Galatians, Paul speaks against walking in the flesh and the works of the flesh. In Second Kings 5 and First Corinthians 5, people were overtaken by the flesh. This fifth week of the year, you will walk in the spirit and not fulfill the desires of the flesh.God made free moving creatures on the fifth day of creation. In Mark 5, Jesus freed a man possessed by demons and bound with chains. In John 5, Jesus released a man held down by disease for 38 years to rise up and go home. In Acts 5, Peter healed many sick people lying on the street. He and his companion were arrested and imprisoned; but God sent His Angel to release Peter and John from prison. This fifth week, no evil power or force will be able to hold you down. You will be free to go about your good business. There was no voice-sound on earth until Gods created the birds on the fifth day. In Psalm 5:2-3, the psalmist said to God, “Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray. My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up”. This fifth week, your voice will not be shut up. You will be singing, praising, praying, declaring, and prophesying.

The fifth season, therefore, represents freedom of movement (as opposed to bondage and stagnation), freedom of expression (as opposed to oppression and fear), life (as opposed to death), blessings (as opposed to curses), fruitfulness (as opposed to barrenness), multiplication and increase (as opposed to scarcity and lack), fleshly manifestations as opposed to spirituality.

The fifth week is a book of Deuteronomy week. The word ‘Deuteronomy’ means ‘Second law’. So, the book of Deuteronomy is about the Law. The book is like a second statement or restatement of the Law. The book shows that the Law rules in the fifth season. This season treads on lawlessness and the lawless. Obedience is not negotiable in the fifth season. If you want blessing, you must choose obedience; but if you choose disobedience, you cannot refuse curses or escape the judgmental consequence of disobedience. The fifth season is a season of law and order. The creatures of the fifth day express law and order. Birds cannot fly unless they spread and flap their wings. Fish cannot swim swim without spreading their fins.

Week 5 is a fifth-seven-books-of-the-Bible week. The fifth seven books of the Bible (Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, and Habakkuk) are about judgmental visitations against Judah, Israel, and other nations – for ungodliness and rebellion against God. They are warning bells calling the people to return to God or face the grave consequences. The cry of the fifth season is, “Obey God and enjoy His blessings; disobey God and reap the harvest of rebellion and divine displeasure”. Week 5 is a season of blessings and curses. The curses of the fifth season include disease, death, barrenness, loss of freedom and possessions, famine, drought, scarcity, and hunger.

Week 5 is a Genesis 29-35 week. The fifth seven chapters of the first book of the Bible is applicable to the fifth week in the first seven weeks of the year. Those chapters of Genesis are the Jacob -chapters. It is the story of the beginning of the 12 tribes of Israel. Fruitfulness swallowed up barrenness in these chapters. Genesis 29-35 show that the fifth season is a season of fruitfulness and multiplication. It is a season of marriage and births.

Week 5 is a fifth-chapters-of-the-Bible week. The fifth chapters reveal that the fifth season is a season of supernatural healing and deliverance from death (Genesis 5, Second Kings 5, Mark 5, John 5, Acts 5); abundance (Luke 5); spirituality (Second Kings 5; Matthew 5; Acts 5; First Corinthians 5; Galatians 5). This week, may the Lord guided you into healing and deliverance. May He bless you with abundance of the things you need. May the Lord guide you to walk in the spirit and not in the flesh.

The fifth 49 years of the United States began July 1972 and would end July 2021. Think of disasters that have come on this nation within this season. The violence. The insecurity. The political tension. The impeachment cases – of Nixon in the 29th seven years, of Clinton in the 32nd seven years, and of Trump in the 35th seven years..  It has been a turbulent season of great prosperity. The 5th seven presidents of the United States were Warren Harding, Calvin Coolidge, Herbert Hoover, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and John F. Kennedy. Three of those presidents – first (29th), fourth (32nd), and seventh (35th) – died in office.

Week 5 is the beginning of the New Testament side of the First seven weeks of the year. It is a Matthew to Galatians season. The ministry of Jesus began and here and ended the reign of Moses and the Law. Week 5 is a new beginning – when God took on flesh and lived among men. Declare that change has come.

This week, be sure to not get in the way of God’s word. Also, prophesy against darkness at work in our world; but call upon God to be merciful and spare His people from destructions. Happy fifth week!
