Welcome to day 81! The 81st day of the year is the fourth day of the 12th week of the year. It is also the 32nd day (4th day of the fifth week) in the second 49 days of the year. The 81st day is a fourth-season day. The fourth season is a testing, transition-bridge season. The fourth season is when obedience is tested. The fourth is about what we do with God’s word; and the aftermath of our choices. The Bible keys for understanding Day 81 are the fourth day of creation narrative, the fourth three chapters of the twelfth book of the Bible, and the 81st psalm.
Day 81 is a fourth-day-of-creation day in the 12th week. God made the luminaries on the fourth day of creation. Why did God create lights on the fourth day after he had said “Let there be light” on the first day? God used the fourth day of creation to illustrate that the fourth season is a fight-back season for darkness. The luminaries of the fourth day were a reinforcement to the light of the first day, The luminaries were intended to be for lights, to divide light and darkness, to rule the day and the night, and to be for signs and seasons. Day 81 is a day of war against darkness. It is a day of light that delivers from the power of darkness. Day 81 is a day of freedom from deception- by reason of light. Men are prone to be thrown into mental darkness in fourth seasons – leading to confusion, deception, fear, and wrong-doing. The lights of the fourth day were intended to be guiding lights. They foreshadowed light from the word of God (sun); light from the Holy Spirit (moon), and counsel from wise people (stars). Do not neglect or trivialize the voice of wisdom and counsel today.
Day 81 is a Second Kings 13-16 day in the 12th week. The fourth four chapters of the 12th book of the Bible is applicable to the fourth day of the twelfth week. It is a day of dividing between night and day and between light and darkness. May the Lord keep His people far from destruction. These chapters record a lot of shaking and overthrows. Elisha got sick and died in the 13th chapter of Second kings. The healer died of sickness. Before His death he guided the king of Israel to a prophetic action that would have given Israel permanent victory over Syria but King Joash did not do what Elisha wanted him to do. He only defeated Israel three times. This is a day to be guided. In the 14th chapter, Amaziah, king of Judah, heedlessly went to war against Israel. The king of Israel did not want war and advised Amaziah against his actions but the king of Judah did not listen. He lost the battle; and it was at a great cost to Judah. In the 15th chapter, Azariah the second longest serving king of Judah died a leper because of pride. When he prospered, his heart was lifted up to his destruction. There was instability in the Northern Kingdom. They suffered so much at the hands of Syria and Assyria. People of the Northern kingdom began to go into Assyrian captivity in this section of Second Kings. Nine kings sat on the throne in three chapters (13-15): Jehoahaz, Joash, Jeroboam, Zachariah, Shallum, Menahem, Pekahiah, Pekah, and Hoshea, the last king of the Northern kingdom. Four of those kings were assassinated. In the southern kingdom, Amaziah, Azariah (Uzziah), Jotham, and Ahaz sat on the throne. The death of Hazael, king of Syria, is also recorded in this section of Second Kings. The foundations of the nations were shaken because of evil, wickedness, oppression, and injustice. The last descendant of Jehu to serve as king of Israel, Zechariah, ruled in the 15th chapter. In the 16th chapter, idolatrous Ahaz served as king of Judah. In the fourth four chapters of Second kings, both Israel and Judah walked in darkness because they neglected the light from God’s law. Do not disregard the word of God in any way today.
Day 81 is Obadiah – Malachi day in the 12th week. Going through every seven-day week is like going through the Bible – from Genesis to Revelation. So every week has an Old Testament side and a New Testament side. The Old Testament side is the first four days of the week. The New Testament side is the remaining three days of the week. Day 81 is the day closing the Old Testament side of the week. It is also the bridge to the New Testament side of the week. Day 81 has its guiding light in the last nine books of the Old Testament – from the 31st book to the 39th book. The last nine books of the Old Testament are books of testing and reports of failure. They are a call to repentance or judgment. Day 81 is a day of tests. Be alert to see the tempter and arm yourself with obedience. It is a time to humble yourself before God; instead od doing your own thing and arguing with word of God.
Day 81 is book of Jonah Day in the second 49 days of the year. Jonah is the 32nd book of the Bible; and is applicable to the 32nd day in the second 49 days. In the 32nd book of the Bible, the prophet received a command to go and preach to the people of Nineveh. He rebelled against the word of God and went to Tarshish. He ran into a deadly storm that put everyone in the ship at risk. At his request, he was thrown out the ship; and a great fish swallowed him but vomited him at the shore of Nineveh by the word of the Lord. He then went to Nineveh and preached to them of God’s impending judgment. They repented. The 32nd book of the Bible is the story of a Prophet’s stubbornness and resistance to God’s will; and the lessons he learned along the way..Day 81 is a day to submit to God instead of living in rebellion and self-will.
Day 81 is a Psalm 81 day in the year. Psalm 81 is a song about what God told Israel to do; because of what He had done for her; and how Israel did not listen to God. The first is the instruction about the new moon. Psalm 81:1-5 says, “Sing aloud to God our strength; Make a joyful shout to the God of Jacob. [2] Raise a song and strike the timbrel, The pleasant harp with the lute. [3] Blow the trumpet at the time of the New Moon, At the full moon, on our solemn feast day. [4] For this is a statute for Israel, A law of the God of Jacob. [5] This He established in Joseph as a testimony, When He went throughout the land of Egypt, Where I heard a language I did not understand”.
God required Israel to keep the New Moon Festival because of what He did for them in Egypt. The instructions were meant to test Israel’s loyalty to God; and also to open her up to blessings. God expected Israel to listen to His voice. Psalm 81:6-10 says, “I removed his shoulder from the burden; His hands were freed from the baskets. [7] You called in trouble, and I delivered you; I answered you in the secret place of thunder; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah [8] “Hear, O My people, and I will admonish you! O Israel, if you will listen to Me! [9] There shall be no foreign god among you; Nor shall you worship any foreign god. [10] I am the LORD your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
Israel failed the test. She did not listen to God. She missed the blessings accompanying obedience. Psalm 81:11-16 says, “But My people would not heed My voice, And Israel would have none of Me. [12] So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, To walk in their own counsels. [13] “Oh, that My people would listen to Me, That Israel would walk in My ways! [14] I would soon subdue their enemies, And turn My hand against their adversaries. [15] The haters of the LORD would pretend submission to Him, But their fate would endure forever. [16] He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat; And with honey from the rock I would have satisfied you.”
On this day in 2021, ten people were killed in a shooting at the Boulder Supermarket in Colorado, United States. Darkness overtook the community. The shooter gave in to darkness. The Supermarket and the victims could not pick the signals. Today, receive grace to obey Divine instruction and signals. Receive grace to pass every test that comes your way today.
Day 81 is Obadiah – Malachi day in the 12th week. Every week is like a journey through the Bible. Every week has an Old Testament side and a New Testament side. The first four days of the week belong to the Old Testament side and express the 39 books of the Old Testament. The remaining three days of the week constitute the New Testament side and express the 27 books of the New Testament. The fourth day of the week is the day closing the Old Testament side of the week; and expresses the last nine books of the Old Testament. Today is the bridge-day leading to the New Testament side of the week. The books of ‘the minor prophets’ are part of the last 9 books of the O.T. They are about judgment and promises of restoration. Today is a day of the dominion of the Voice of God in the nations. Let His Voice dominate in your life.
DECREE AND DECLARE: God made us in His image and likeness to rule, have dominion, and impose His will on seasons; as He did with the seven days of creation. He decreed what He wanted for each day. We are to decree what is revealed concerning each day. Today, decree the downfall of the wicked and the lifting and establishment of the just. Today, prophesy an end to something in your life, family, business, community, and nation. Today, raise your voice against wickedness and oppression wherever it is found. Prophesy! Prophesy!! Prophesy!!! Today, also pray to be more sensitive in the spirit; to pick up necessary signals that would help you triumph over the enemy and keep darkness away. Today, pray to be delivered from falling into temptation. Pray to be preoccupied with the person of God; and to be focused on His mandate and His revealed purpose for your life. Be careful to weigh every decision in light of God’s purpose for your life; and God’s purpose for the time. Today, proclaim an end to woes and declare the dawn of a new day. Happy 81st day!
