Welcome to the 50th, and first jubilee, day of the year! Day 50 is the first day of the eighth week of the year. This is the first major ’50th’ in the year. The other major ’50th’ is the 50th week. The Bible patterns for understanding the 50th day are 1) the first day of creation narrative; 2) the 50th book of the Bible; 3) the 50th chapters of the Bible; 4) the first chapter of Ruth, the 8th book of the Bible.
Day 50 is a first day of creation day in the 8th week. God created light to subdue darkness on the first day of creation. He also separated the light from the darkness; called the light day and the darkness night. Darkness frustrates, confuses, and deceives. It is difficult to do right when darkness prevails. The light of the first day came from the word. Day 50 is a time to seek direction from God’s word. Psalm 119:105 says “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”. Psalms 119:130 says, “The entrance of your word brings light; and gives understanding to the simple”.
Day 50 is a book of Philippians day. Paul’s epistle to the Philippians is the 50th book of the Bible. This book is about rejoicing in the Lord always. Philippians 4:4 says, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice”. The 50th season is rejoicing time. In God’s eternal plan, the fiftieth is the season of Jubilee. It is a season of liberty. It is a season for everyone to return to his possession. Whatever God calls a thing is usually the opposite of its appearance or ‘natural’ circumstances. It is what God calls a thing that pulls it out of the natural realm into the will of God – the realm of eternal identity and purpose. We are to name our seasons according to God’s revelation – to make them what they should be. That means we are to do warfare against appearance, feeling, reason, and circumstance, by the revealed word.
Leviticus 25:8-13 says, “And you shall count seven sabbaths of years for yourself, seven times seven years; and the time of the seven sabbaths of years shall be to you forty-nine years. [9] Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land. [10] And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family. [11] That fiftieth year shall be a Jubilee to you; in it you shall neither sow nor reap what grows of its own accord, nor gather the grapes of your untended vine. [12] For it is the Jubilee; it shall be holy to you; you shall eat its produce from the field. [13] ‘In this Year of Jubilee, each of you shall return to his possession”.
Day 50 is a 50th-chapters-of-the-Bible day in the year. In Genesis 50, instead of jubilation and joy, there was mourning in the house of Israel. Jacob, the father of the Israelites was buried, and mourned for, in this chapter. The death of Joseph is also recorded in Genesis 50. Joseph died and was embalmed and placed in a coffin in Egypt. “Embalmed and placed in a coffin in Egypt” in a season of Jubilee, liberty, and returning to own possession. Jacob returned to his possession in death. The liberty Israelites had in this chapter was for the burial of their patriarch. Day 50 is also a season of fearful divine visitation. Joseph told Israel God would visit them in Genesis 50. Psalm 50 says the Lord shall come. So, in the fiftieth season, expect Divine visitation. Isaiah 50 tells us why the Lord may not come. Jeremiah 50 shows what happens when God comes: the enemy is overthrown and God’s Elect is restored. It is the intervention of God in a fiftieth season that makes it a season of Jubilee, liberty, and returning to possession. Otherwise, it is a season mourning, oppression, and taking whatever comes. In the 50th book of the Bible, Epaphroditus was sick and close to dying but God delivered him. Today, may the Lord keep you in joy and gladness; and take sorrow and morning away from you.
Day 50 is a Ruth 1:1-13 day in the 8th week. This first section of the eighth book of the Bible is applicable to the first day of the eighth week of the year. In this passage, Elimelech and his wife and two sons moved to Moab from Bethlehem-Judah because of the famine in the land of Israel. Elimelech died in the land of Moab; leaving Naomi and their two sons – Mahlon and Chilion. The sons got married to girls from the land of Moab – Orpah and Ruth. The young men also died; leaving their mother and their wives. Pray against the spirit of death in the fiftieth day. Pray against great falls. It is a day of jubilee but the enemy wants it to be a day of mourning.
Day 50 is a Genesis – Second Samuel day in the 8th week. Going through any week is like taking a journey through the Bible. Every week has an Old Testament side and a New Testament side. The first four days of the week belong to the Old Testament side and express the 39 books of the Old Testament. The remaining three days of the week constitute the New Testament side and express the 27 books of the New Testament. The first day of the week is the beginning of the Old Testament side of the week; and expresses the first 10 books of the Old Testament and the Bible. In the first 10 books of the Bible, God revealed Himself as Creator and Caretaker. He chose those who aligned with His purpose for blessings; and reserved judgment for those who disregard Him. The first 10 books began with the creation and fall of the man in the image and likeness of God; and ended with the emergence of the man after God’s heart sitting on the throne of God’s choice nation. David was absolutely loyal to God. He gave himself for whatever God wanted. This is a day of aligning with God and becoming a man (woman) after His heart.
DECREE AND DECLARE: God made us in His image and likeness to rule, have dominion, and impose His will on seasons; as He did with the seven days of creation. He decreed what He wanted for each day. We are to decree what is revealed concerning each day. Today, decree the collapse and end of expressions and manifestations of darkness in your life and world. Decree that expressions of light will triumph in this first day of the week. Today, make a quality decision to receive the word of the Lord and act on it without fear or doubts. Make a quality decision to walk in unconditional love. This is a day of sacrificial (tough) love. Today, take time to hear from God. Do not act without His direction. Follow what He says or shows. Today, seek the Lord against disasters in the week as you come into alignment. Call upon Him for mercy.! Rejoice in the Lord today. Happy 50th day!
