Day 34: The Mystery of February 3

Welcome to the 34th day of the year. Day 34 is also the sixth day of the fifth week of the year. This is the first major ’34th’ in the year. The other major ’34th’ is the 33rd week. The Bible patterns for understanding the 34th day are 1) the sixth day of creation narrative; 2) the 34th book of the Bible; 3) the 34th chapters of the Bible; 4) the 6th five chapters of Deuteronomy, the fifth book of the Bible.

Day 34 is a sixth season day of creation day. What happened on the sixth day of creation? On that day, God did, at least, eight things:

1. He created land animals from the earth.

2. He formed man’s body from the ground, breathed into man and man became a living soul. He made man in His image and after His likeness.

3. He gave man the privilege of naming all the animals. God named the creatures of the first 3 days. But man named every other thing God created on the sixth day – including Woman.

4. He formed woman from man and joined them to become husband and wife. God instituted marriage on the sixth day.

5. He blessed man with fruitfulness and multiplication – to fill the earth and subdue it.

6. He gave man authority to rule and have dominion over all moving creatures on earth, on air, and in the sea.

7. He gave vegetation-food to man. He instructed man concerning provisions.

8. He evaluated everything He had done and saw that they were indeed very good.

The sixth season is a ‘use what you have’ season. It is a season to exercise rule and dominion; and execute judgment against rebellion. It is a season of love and relationships. It is a season of work. It is a season of multiplication and increase. It is a season of connecting food to the eater. It is a season to reflect the image and likeness of the Creator. It is season to correct and perfect things that are not good or in order. It is general evaluation season – leading to approval or rejection, regrets or rejoicing, blessing or cursing, deliverance, or destruction, multiplication or decimation.

This is a Deuteronomy 26-30 day. Deuteronomy 26-30 is the sixth five chapters of the book. The 26th chapter is about offerings of first-fruits and tithes. The 27th chapter is about inscribing the Law on the Altar of Whole Stones; and about pronouncement of blessings and curses. The word should be inscribed on our hearts. The 28th chapter is about blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience. The 29th chapter is a review of divine mercy and the renewal of Covenant before the Lord in the land of Moab; and the curses that would follow breaking that covenant. The 30th chapter is about the blessings of returning to God. From the sixth five chapters of Deuteronomy, it is clear that the 34th season is a season of blessings or curses. Blessings for the obedient and curses for the rebellious. It is a season to reap the fruit of labors. The sixth season is for uncompromising allegiance to the Lord and unreserved commitment to His word.

Day 34 is a book of Nahum day. Nahum is the 34th book of the Bible. The book of Nahum is God’s pronouncement of judgement against Nineveh. Nahum 1:2-6,12-14 says, “God is jealous, and the LORD avenges; The LORD avenges and is furious. The LORD will take vengeance on His adversaries, And He reserves wrath for His enemies; The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, And will not at all acquit the wicked. The LORD has His way In the whirlwind and in the storm, And the clouds are the dust of His feet. He rebukes the sea and makes it dry, And dries up all the rivers. Bashan and Carmel wither, And the flower of Lebanon wilts. The mountains quake before Him, The hills melt, And the earth heaves at His presence, Yes, the world and all who dwell in it. Who can stand before His indignation? And who can endure the fierceness of His anger? His fury is poured out like fire, And the rocks are thrown down by Him. Nahum 1:12-14 says, Thus says the LORD: “Though they are safe, and likewise many, Yet in this manner they will be cut down When he passes through. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more; [For now I will break off his yoke from you, And burst your bonds apart.” The LORD has given a command concerning you: “Your name shall be perpetuated no longer. Out of the house of your gods I will cut off the carved image and the molded image. I will dig your grave, For you are vile.”

Week 34 is a 34th chapters of the Bible week. In Genesis 34, Simeon and Levi, sons of Jacob took vengeance against the Shechemites for the rape of their sister, Dinah. God sets up the ungodly for destruction in the 34th season. However, it all started with Dinah undertaking an ill-advised tour to see the daughters of the land. Her steps were not guided by wisdom. In Exodus 34, God introduced Himself to Moses as One who though merciful and gracious will by no means clear the guilty. Exodus 34:5-7 says, “Now the LORD descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. [6] And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, [7] keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.” …Numbers 34 is about the divisions and boundaries of inheritance in promised land which Israel shall dispossess the Canaanites of. God takes away the inheritance of the ungodly in the 34th season. In Deuteronomy 34, Moses died and was buried, by God, in the land of Moab.  In Second Chronicles 34, Josiah, as God’s agent, took vengeance against idolatry in Israel, in a swift reformation – to escape the visitation of divine wrath. 2 Chronicles 34:3-5 says, “For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, he began to seek the God of his father David; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem of the high places, the wooden images, the carved images, and the molded images. [4] They broke down the altars of the Baals in his presence, and the incense altars which were above them he cut down; and the wooden images, the carved images, and the molded images he broke in pieces, and made dust of them and scattered it on the graves of those who had sacrificed to them. [5] He also burned the bones of the priests on their altars, and cleansed Judah and Jerusalem”. 2 Chronicles 34:33 says, “Thus Josiah removed all the abominations from all the country that belonged to the children of Israel, and made all who were present in Israel diligently serve the LORD their God. All his days they did not depart from following the LORD God of their fathers”.

The 34th season is a time to watch out against heavenly reactions to ungodliness. 2 Chronicles 34:24-25 says, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Behold, I will bring calamity on this place and on its inhabitants, all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah, [25] because they have forsaken Me and burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke Me to anger with all the works of their hands. Therefore My wrath will be poured out on this place, and not be quenched.'” Job 34 reveals that God “repays man according to his work”. Job 34:10-11 says, “Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding: Far be it from God to do wickedness, And from the Almighty to commit iniquity. [11] For He repays man according to his work, And makes man to find a reward according to his way”. Job 34:24-28 says, “He breaks in pieces mighty men without inquiry, And sets others in their place. [25] Therefore He knows their works; He overthrows them in the night, And they are crushed. [26] He strikes them as wicked men In the open sight of others, [27] Because they turned back from Him, And would not consider any of His ways, [28] So that they caused the cry of the poor to come to Him; For He hears the cry of the afflicted”

Psalms 34 says, “The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry. [16] The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. [17] The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. [18] The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. [19] Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all. [20] He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken. [21] Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. [22] The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned” (Psalm 34:15-22).

Isaiah 34 is a proclamation of judgment against all nations; especially Edom. Isaiah 34:2-15 says, “For the indignation of the LORD is against all nations, And His fury against all their armies; He has utterly destroyed them, He has given them over to the slaughter. [3] Also their slain shall be thrown out; Their stench shall rise from their corpses, And the mountains shall be melted with their blood. [4] All the host of heaven shall be dissolved, And the heavens shall be rolled up like a scroll; All their host shall fall down As the leaf falls from the vine, And as fruit falling from a fig tree. [5] “For My sword shall be bathed in heaven; Indeed it shall come down on Edom, And on the people of My curse, for judgment. [6] The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, It is made overflowing with fatness, With the blood of lambs and goats, With the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah, And a great slaughter in the land of Edom. [7] The wild oxen shall come down with them, And the young bulls with the mighty bulls; Their land shall be soaked with blood, And their dust saturated with fatness.” [8] For it is the day of the LORD’s vengeance, The year of recompense for the cause of Zion. [9] Its streams shall be turned into pitch, And its dust into brimstone; Its land shall become burning pitch. [10] It shall not be quenched night or day; Its smoke shall ascend forever. From generation to generation it shall lie waste; No one shall pass through it forever and ever. [11] But the pelican and the porcupine shall possess it, Also the owl and the raven shall dwell in it. And He shall stretch out over it The line of confusion and the stones of emptiness. [12] They shall call its nobles to the kingdom, But none shall be there, and all its princes shall be nothing. [13] And thorns shall come up in its palaces, Nettles and brambles in its fortresses; It shall be a habitation of jackals, A courtyard for ostriches. [14] The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the jackals, And the wild goat shall bleat to its companion; Also the night creature shall rest there, And find for herself a place of rest. [15] There the arrow snake shall make her nest and lay eggs And hatch, and gather them under her shadow; There also shall the hawks be gathered, Every one with her mate”.

Jeremiah 34 is God’s reaction to those who took back, into bondage, slaves they had freed:

Jeremiah 34:17-22 says, “Therefore thus says the LORD: ‘You have not obeyed Me in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother and every one to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim liberty to you,’ says the LORD-‘to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine! And I will deliver you to trouble among all the kingdoms of the earth. [18] And I will give the men who have transgressed My covenant, who have not performed the words of the covenant which they made before Me, when they cut the calf in two and passed between the parts of it- [19] the princes of Judah, the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, the priests, and all the people of the land who passed between the parts of the calf- [20] I will give them into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek their life. Their dead bodies shall be for meat for the birds of the heaven and the beasts of the earth. [21] And I will give Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes into the hand of their enemies, into the hand of those who seek their life, and into the hand of the king of Babylon’s army which has gone back from you. [22] Behold, I will command,’ says the LORD, ‘and cause them to return to this city. They will fight against it and take it and burn it with fire; and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without inhabitant.'”

Ezekiel 34 is prophecy against the shepherds of Israel who exploit God’s flock.

Day 34 is Ephesians – Philemon day in the fifth week. Every week is like a journey through the Bible. Every week has an Old Testament side and a New Testament side. The first four days of the week belong to the Old Testament side and express the 39 books of the Old Testament. The remaining three days of the week constitute the New Testament side and express the 27 books of the New Testament. The sixth day of the week is the second day in the New Testament side of the week; and expresses the second nine books of the New Testament. Today is a day to triumph in warfare through instructions. The second 9 books of the N.T are mentoring books. The pastoral epistles of Paul are in this section. This section of the Bible is for “the preparation of the man of God”.

DECREE AND DECLARE: God made us in His image and likeness to rule, have dominion, and impose His will on seasons; as He did with the seven days of creation. He decreed what He wanted for each day. We are to decree what is revealed concerning each day. Today, decree the downfall of the wicked and the lifting and establishment of the just. Today, prophesy and declare war against the enemies of God. Today, prophesy restoration and blessing on God’s people because of the finished work; and prophesy against ungodliness. Today, show that your primary allegiance is to the God of Israel. You are made in the image and likeness of God. This is a day to commemorate and relive the creation of man in the image and likeness of God. Today, make your way back to the Lord. Even if you are not a backslider, you can still get closer to the goal of expressing the Lord – as His image and likeness. Today, stand out for God as His representative and look into your life, and look around, for things and areas that need to be conformed to God’s standards. Today, pray that the kingdom comes, by the word of God, to establish God’s will in your life, family, church, community, nation; and in the nations of the world. Today, make a commitment to obey the Lord or to return to God. The blessing of the sixth season is the greatest; and so the curses of the sixth season. Happy 34th Day!

On this day in 2022, Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi, the ISIS chief and second Caliph, died in a US coordinated raid of his camp in Syria. He blew up himself and 12 others.
