Welcome to the 98th day! The 98th day is the seventh and last day of the 14th week. It is the 49th and last day in the second 49th days or second 7 weeks of the year. It is a core seventh season day – the seventh day of the seventh week in the second 49 days of the year. It is April 8 in a clear year and April 7 in a leap year. The Bible patterns for understanding the 98th day are the seventh day of creation narrative, the 98th psalm, and the last five chapters (32-36) of the fourteenth book of the Bible.

Day 98 is a seventh day of creation day. God did not create anything on the seventh day. He rested on that day. He blessed and hallowed the day because He rested on it. God rested on that day, not because He was tired but, to guide man to declare rest on that day and make it a season of entering, by faith, into ‘the finished work’. This is a season of triumph over distress and unrest. The seventh season is for declaring an end to affliction and struggles. Day 98 is an end-day! It is the results-day of the week. It is a finished-works day.

Day 98 is a Psalm 98 day. Psalm 98 calls us to sing a new song to the Lord for the things He had done (verses 1-3); and to shout for the things He would do (4-9).

Psalm 98:1-9 says,

[1] Oh, sing to the LORD a new song!

1. For He has done marvelous things;

2. His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.

3. [2] The LORD has made known His salvation;

4. His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations.

5. [3] He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel;

6. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

This psalm tells us how to package the singing:

1. [4] Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth;

2. Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises.

3. [5] Sing to the LORD with the harp, With the harp and the sound of a psalm,

4. [6] With trumpets and the sound of a horn;

5. Shout joyfully before the LORD, the King.

6. [7] Let the sea roar, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell in it;

7. [8] Let the rivers clap their hands;

8. Let the hills be joyful together before the LORD,

We do not only sing to the Lord for what He had done; but also for what He would do. Psalm 98: 9 says, “For He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness He shall judge the world, And the peoples with equity”. It is by praising God that we activate the judgment of the day.

Day 98 is a Second Chronicles 32-36 day. This 7th part of the 14th book of the Bible is applicable to the 7th day of the 14th week. In the 32nd chapter, Hezekiah came under pressure from the king of Assyria in the 14th year of his reign. The Lord destroyed the proud and boastful king. Hezekiah also had a serious health crisis that was to end his life. God added fifteen years to his life. The death of Hezekiah is recorded in this chapter. In the 33rd chapter, Manasseh, Hezekiah’s son, became king. He was twelve years old when he was made king after his father died. So, Manasseh was born three years after his father’s miraculous recovery from sickness. Manasseh was the worst king Judah had. He was a staunch idol worshipper. God handed him over to Babylonians until he humbled himself before God and returned to the Lord. After his death, his son, Amon became king. He was evil. His servants conspired against him and killed him. The people arrested those who killed him: and executed them. Amon died at 24; after two years of ruling Judah. In the 34th chapter, Josiah the great grandson of Hezekiah, became king. At 16, after he had ruled for eight years, he began to seek God. The ministry of prophet Jeremiah began in the days of king Josiah. King Josiah was a reformer-king. The last revival Judah experienced, before the captivity, took place under Josiah. King Josiah led Judah to keep a memorable Passover in the 35th chapter. There had not been such Passover since the days of Samuel. Josiah died of injuries in an ill-advised battle against the king of Egypt. The 36 chapter is about the last kings of Judah – leading to the captivity. The chapter ended with the proclamation of Cyrus authorizing Jews to go and rebuild the temple of God at Jerusalem. This chapter vindicated Jeremiah’s prophetic ministry. The things he prophesied came to pass. God is faithful. Day 98 is the day of the triumph and vindication of our God and His Word. It is a season of judgment, mercy and turnaround.

Day 98 is a Hebrews – Revelation day in the 14th week. Every week is like a journey through the Bible. Every week also has an Old Testament side and a New Testament side. The first four days of the week belong to the Old Testament side and express the 39 books of the Old Testament. The remaining three days of the week constitute the New Testament side and express the 27 books of the New Testament. The seventh day of the week is the third and last day in the New Testament side of the week; and expresses the third nine books of the New Testament. Today is a day of the last battle and ultimate triumph in the week. The third 9 books of the N.T are books of correction, recovery, and restoration. The last book of the Bible is about judgment and restoration. Let judgment come upon the wicked today! Let judgment come upon every expression of Sennacherib in our world today.

DECREE AND DECLARE: God made us in His image and likeness to rule, have dominion, and impose His will on seasons; as He did with the seven days of creation. He decreed what He wanted for each day. We are to decree what is revealed concerning each day. Today, decree the downfall of the wicked and the lifting and establishment of the just. Today, prophesy and declare war against the enemies of God. Today, raise a cry against wickedness; trust in the Lord, hope in Him, and take refuge in His grace and mercy. Today, prophesy restoration and blessing on God’s people because of the finished work; and prophesy against ungodliness. This is a day of “IT IS DONE”. Today, you will have pleasure by seeking the pleasure of God. Today, make it priority to honor God. Obey Him. If you missed it anywhere, repent, and return to God. This is a day to go back to Bethel. Happy 98th day!
