Welcome to the 51st week of the year. This is the week of the Lord’s preeminence and vengeance. The 51st week is the second week in the last 22/23 days of the year. The key to understanding the 51st week are 1) the second day of creation narrative; 2) the 51st chapters of the Bible; 3) the 51st book of the Bible; 4) the second chapter of the eighth book of the Bible.
Week 51 is a second day of creation week. On the second day of creation, God made the firmament to break the monopoly of the waters over space. In the 51st week, God releases a firmament-type of help to break the power of your troubler and adversary. As a second season week, the 51st week is a week of help against oppressive monopolies and barriers. The 51st week is a week of help from above. This week, the Lord will dismantle space-blockers in your favor. He is the Voice you must listen to. He is ALWAYS the Preeminent One; but certain seasons, like this 51st week, are just about His preeminence. All men and strongholds are subject to Him. This week, He wields His power against forces to make a way where there is no way.
The 51st week is a 51st chapters of the Bible week.
Psalm 51: In Psalm 51, David humbly acknowledged his sin and failure; and prayed to the Lord for mercy, cleansing, and restoration. He had learnt that hiding or covering sin and lying about it does not help. He confessed it to God. O that we (great and small) may humble ourselves, today, before the Preeminent One; and acknowledge the truth. The blood of Jesus is our help from God against sin and iniquity. It is the cry for mercy that opens the door to, and makes room for, the Spirit of deliverance and vengeance to operate in favor of God’s people in the 51st season. With a broken and contrite heart, the psalmist cried out in repentance for the restoration of peace, joy, and gladness.
Psalm 51:8 says, “Make me hear joy and gladness, That the bones You have broken may rejoice”.
Psalm 51:15-17 says, “O Lord, open my lips, And my mouth shall show forth Your praise. [16] For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. [17] The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart- These, O God, You will not despise”.
Isaiah 51: In Isaiah 51, the Lord calls and draws attention to Himself as one who should be heard. He tells us to listen to Him; and gives reasons. The reason He calls us to listen is because He is announcing a change of story. Listening to God is the way to receive help from heaven in the 51st week.
Isaiah 51:1,4,7,21 says,
[1] “Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, You who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug.
The Jews looked to God’s covenant with Abraham. Today, we look to the New Covenant in the blood of Jesus. He is the Rock from which we were hewn. He is the hole of the pit from which we were dug.
Why does God want you to listen? The third verse has the answer: Isaiah 51:3
says, “For the LORD will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, And her desert like the garden of the LORD; Joy and gladness will be found in it, Thanksgiving and the voice of melody”.
[4] “Listen to Me, My people; And give ear to Me, O My nation: For law will proceed from Me, And I will make My justice rest As a light of the peoples.
Why does God call us to listen a second time? The answer is in the fifth and sixth verses: Isaiah 51:5-6 says, “My righteousness is near, My salvation has gone forth, And My arms will judge the peoples; The coastlands will wait upon Me, And on My arm they will trust. Lift up your eyes to the heavens, And look on the earth beneath. For the heavens will vanish away like smoke, The earth will grow old like a garment, And those who dwell in it will die in like manner; But My salvation will be forever, And My righteousness will not be abolished.”
[7] “Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, You people in whose heart is My law: Do not fear the reproach of men, Nor be afraid of their insults.
Why does He call us to listen for the third time? The answer is in the eleventh verse. Isaiah 51:11 says, “So the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; Sorrow and sighing shall flee away”
[21] Therefore please hear this, you afflicted, And drunk but not with wine.
Why does God call us to listen for the fourth time? Verse 22 has the answer! Isaiah 51:22 says, “Thus says your Lord, The LORD and your God, Who pleads the cause of His people: “See, I have taken out of your hand the cup of trembling, The dregs of the cup of My fury; You shall no longer drink it”.
Listening to God means shutting your ears to what anyone else is saying. This week, the Preeminent One wants you to listen to Him. It’s His Word that should matter to you. Listen to Him and not to men or your senses.
Here are four things Isaiah 51 reveals that God wants you to know about the 51st week:
1. The 51st week is a week of comfort.
2. The 51st week is for the release of God’s justice, righteousness, and salvation.
3. In the 51st week, sorrow and sighing shall flee away. It is a week of smiles.
4. The 51st week is for the termination of troubles.
Jeremiah 51: In Jeremiah 51, the Preeminent One decided that Babylon, the World Power, would go down and fall to the Medes; because of her sins. There is no World Power that can stand before the Preeminent One. The entire earth is His footstool. Jeremiah 51 is prophecy against Babylon leading to her destruction. God is enthroned as king over Babylon and all nations. The destruction of the oppressor makes way for the humble and oppressed. This is the week for the Lord to wield His Battle Axe against His foes. The 51st week is for the fall and destruction of the proud oppressor. The 51st week is a week of vengeance. Jeremiah 51:56 says, “…For the LORD is the God of recompense, He will surely repay”. This week, His word has gone forth against the wicked and proud. It’s time to sink ‘Babylon’ – wherever it’s found. This is a week when men must humble themselves before the Preeminent One or be humiliated.
This week, the Lord will show Himself greater than the great; mightier than the mighty; stronger than the strong, and wiser than the wise. This is a week of mega-battle. The Lord is out against evil and proud monopolies. The code-name for the battle of this week is ‘Operation Sink Babylon’. As Jeremiah sank Babylon by the word of the Lord iand with a millstone cast into Euphrates, that is how mighty forces will sink this 51st week by the Word revealed in the 51st book and chapters of the Bible. When the Medes sacked Babylon, they merely reaped the harvest of the prophetic seeds Jeremiah had planted. This is a week of triumphing over ‘principalities and powers’.
The 51st week is a Ruth-chapter-two week. The second chapter of the eighth book of the Bible is applicable to the second week in the eighth division (last three weeks) of the year. In this section of the book, Ruth went out and came to the field of Boaz. She worked there on that day and got something for herself and her mother in-law. Boaz was the rod of God against the forces of famine, hunger, and death, oppressing Ruth. Boaz did not only favor Ruth, but also instructed her: “Then Boaz said to Ruth, “You will listen, my daughter, will you not? Do not go to glean in another field, nor go from here, but stay close by my young women. [9] Let your eyes be on the field which they reap, and go after them. Have I not commanded the young men not to touch you? And when you are thirsty, go to the vessels and drink from what the young men have drawn.” (Ruth 2:8-9).When she returned to her mother in-law and told her experiences, she also instructed her on the way forward. “And Naomi said to Ruth her daughter-in-law, “It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his young women, and that people do not meet you in any other field.” [23] So she stayed close by the young women of Boaz, to glean until the end of barley harvest and wheat harvest; and she dwelt with her mother-in-law” (Ruth 2:22-23).
The 51st week of the year is a book of Colossians week. The Book of Colossians is the 51st book of the Bible; and is a call to focus on Christ, the Preeminent One – Who had qualified us before God; Who delivered us, redeemed us, made us alive, and forgave our sins; Who fought and disarmed and disgraced principalities, publicly, our behalf. Because of who and what Christ is, and what we have in Him, we are not to pay attention to contrary words. He is all we need and has all we need. Instead we are to live our lives to glorify Him. Read what the book of Colossians says about Jesus Christ in Colossians 1:15-18: “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. [16] For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. [17] And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. [18] And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence”.
The 51st book of the Bible is a revelation of what Jesus had done for us by His death. He fought and defeated principalities and powers for us. Today, when we win battles against principalities and powers, we are merely standing on the victory Christ secured for us by His death. As Jeremiah sacked Babylon before the coming of the Medes, that was how Christ Jesus triumphed over principalities and powers for our benefit. This 51st week is a time to focus on the Mighty One who had fought our battles and defeated the enemy for us.
People born in this week are deep thinkers. They treasure knowledge. They love to ‘know’ the ‘secret’ of things. They are big-picture people in the pursuit of knowledge – ascending the heights, and descending the depths, of thoughts. They are book-of-Colossians people. Their chief enemies are ignorance, untruth, and deception. They have a lot working for them than they are aware of. They are the Lord’s Battle Axe; and should not run, or shy away, from battles.
Week 51 is a First Kings – to – Proverbs week in the last 3 weeks of the year. Going through any week is like taking a journey through the Bible. Every week has an Old Testament side and a New Testament side. The first four days of the week belong to the Old Testament side and express the 39 books of the Old Testament. The remaining three days of the week constitute the New Testament side and express the 27 books of the New Testament. The second day of the week is the second day in the Old Testament side of the week; and expresses the second 10 books of the Old Testament and the Bible. In the second 10 books of the Bible, God wanted the kings of Israel to trust Him and lead the nation in the same direction. Beginning with Solomon, the kings of Israel began to patronize Idols. Idol worship became official in the northern kingdom following the split. Judah followed. Prophets rose in this season to call the nation back to God. Eventually, the two kingdoms went into captivity – the north fell to Assyria; and the south to the Babylonians. The Jews did return from captivity after 70 years. The last two books in this section of the Bible (Psalms and Proverbs) show that loss of faith in God is prelude to the loss of all things in the second season; but faith in God is the secret of power and strength. The faithful will triumph in the second season by the power and wisdom of God no matter what happens.
DECREE AND DECLARE : God made us in His image and likeness to rule, have dominion, and impose His will on seasons; as He did with the seven days of creation. He decreed what He wanted for each day. We are to decree what is revealed concerning each day. Today, declare that your faith will not fail; and that the faithful will triumph. Decree the downfall of those who disregard God and trust in themselves or idols, Today, prophesy against evil controlling powers and overthrow them by the word of the Lord. Mercy makes a way where there is no way. Today is a day of divine intervention and mercy. Today, release the word of the Lord against oppressive mountains in your life and in your world. Raise a cry to God against the proud and wicked in the land. Today, trust God to make a way where there is no way. Proclaim His word, Pray to Him. Praise Him.!
This week, fix your eyes on the Preeminent One. Fix your attention on where you came from; not on the things coming against you. Your root is your Strength. Your power is in your foundation. You are in Him who is the Head of all principality and power.. He dwells in you! You are a winner through Him. Happy 51st week!
