2024: A Game-changing Year

Four Biblical Patterns for the Year 2024

The 7 Faces of 2024 (1)

The 7 Faces of 2024 (2)

How to Live Joyfully in 2024

Every new year is a new season and comes with its temptations, troubles and testimonies. God has different ways of speaking to His people about their seasons. He can grant revelations through dreams, visions and impressions. The Bible is full of such revelations (Genesis 41; 2 Kings 8; Acts 11). He can open your eyes as you read His word and show you how the Word you are reading applies to the season ahead. John the Baptist was reading the portion of the Scripture in Isaiah 40 when the Spirit of God opened his heart to understand he was reading about himself. God has also given us patterns in the Bible for every season of man. We can get a prophetic picture of a season by examining the Biblical patterns for that season. Whereas you cannot force the Holy Spirit to give you dreams or visions about any season, you can always go to the Bible, see the patterns for a season, and through the Holy Spirit, discern or receive the mind of God concerning the season. God knew everything about 2024 from eternity past.

A. FIVE BIBLICAL PATTERNS FOR  THE YEAR 2024

There are 5 Biblical patterns that can help us understand what the Lord is saying concerning the year 2024. I always give more than one Biblical pattern for each season so that “By the mouth of two or three witnesses, every word is established”(Deuteronomy 17:6; 19:15; Matthew 18:16; 2 Corinthians 13:1; 1 Timothy 5:19; Hebrews 10:28). When you study a season from the different biblical patterns, you will gain a broader perspective of the season.

Here are the 5 Biblical patterns for the year 2024.

1. The narrative of the third day of creation.

2. The 24th book of the Bible

3. The 24th chapters of the Bible

4. The narrative of Numbers 12-16

5. The third 10 books of the Bible

1. 2024 is a third-day-of-creation year. The 24th year is the third year in the fourth seven years of the century. The third season is the game-changing season. The third day of creation reset the platforms in creation. It was on the third day of creation that the great carriers (sea, dry ground, and vegetation) came into existence. The third chapter of every book of the Bible is the game-changing chapter in the book. The third year in every seven-year season is a game-changing year. So, 2024 is the game-changing year in the in the fourth seven years (2022 – 2028) of the century. It is like 2003 when Saddam Husseini was captured; like 2010 when disasters hit different parts of the world; and like 2017 when Trump became President. The third book and third chapters of the Bible are also applicable to the season.

2. The year 2024 is a book of Jeremiah year. Jeremiah is the 24th book of the Bible and is a guiding light for 2024 and any other 24th season.

In the 24th book of the Bible, God uncovered the prophet in a priest; and established him in his ordination. Jeremiah went from being a priest to becoming a prophet. Jeremiah is the beginning of a new order of prophetic ministry – “the word of the Lord came to me saying”. This is used in about 12 verses of Jeremiah and in 49 verses of Ezekiel. It is not used in Isaiah. This is the season of waiting on the Lord for His Word.

The Lord called Him as a prophet to the nations to uproot, pull down, build and plant. As God overthrew the waters on the third day of creation and established the earth and its vegetation, that is how God plans to overthrow people and things working against His purposes and establish those that will facilitate the execution of His plans in 2024.

In his days, Jeremiah stood for the uprooting of what God was displeased with and for the planting of what Heaven approved of. The captivity of Judah and the destruction of Jerusalem happened in his season and he prophesied it. He stood for Babylon and against Judah and Jerusalem because of Judah’s rebellion against God.  Jeremiah was like a prophet to ‘the Church’ calling her to return to God and warning her against judgment. This is a season to call the church back to God. 2024 is a season of standing for what God stands for; and a season of standing against what God stands against. It is the year of the word of the Lord – not the year of our thoughts and wishes. Confrontation and change must begin in the Church.

2024 is the year of ‘the prophet’. The word ‘prophet’ is used in 296 verses of the Old Testament. In Jeremiah alone, it is used in 87 verses. This is more than 29%.

The name Jeremiah means ‘God is high’ and is very fitting for the 24th book of the Bible that shows God is Final Authority. The 24th book of the Bible (Jeremiah) has 52 chapters –  just as the year has 52 weeks. I suggest that you read one chapter a day for the first 52 days of the year. You can also read and study a chapter of Jeremiah each week of the 52 weeks of 2024.

3. 2024 is a Numbers 12-16 season. What does the 24th year of the 21st century have to do with Numbers 12-16? The fourth book of the Bible (Numbers) is Guiding Light for the fourth 7 years of the 21st century (2022 – 2028). Each year of this seven year season has a pattern in the fourth book of the Bible.  2022 expressed Numbers 1-6. 2023 expressed Numbers 7-11. 2024 is a Numbers 12-16 year. 2025 is a Numbers 17-21 year. 2026 is a Numbers 22-26 year. 2027 is a Numbers 27-31 year. 2028 is a Numbers 32-36 year.

Numbers 12-16 are the overthrow-chapters in the fourth book of the Bible. Miriam became leprous for speaking against Moses in Numbers 12. The 12 spies (except Joshua and Caleb) brought an evil report of the Promised Land in Numbers 13. Israel rejected the Good Land and God sentenced His people to 40 years of wandering in the Wilderness in Numbers 14. Numbers 15 is about maintaining peace with God through obedience to His commandants. The rebellion and judgment of Korah and his company is recorded in Numbers 16. The year 2024 is for the judgment and overthrow of the rebellious.

4. 2024 is an Ecclesiastes – Amos year. Going through any 7-year season is like taking a prophetic journey through the Bible. Every 7-year season has an Old Testament side and a New Testament side. The first four years of the season belongs to the Old Testament side of the season and expresses the 39 books of the Old Testament. The remaining three years of the season constitute the New Testament side and expresses the 27 books of the New Testament. The third year of the season is also the third year in the Old Testament side of the season; and expresses the third 10 books of the Old Testament and the Bible. In the third 10 books of the Bible (Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel and Amos), God sent His prophets to speak to the people. They confronted the people, warned them against judgment, comforted the faithful, and brought judgment on the arrogant. 2024 is for the overthrow of the rebellious and establishment of the humble and just. How you fare in the year 2024 depends on your attitude and response to the word of God; and of course, the enduring mercy of God. This is a year of prophetic confrontation and judgment. It is also a year of prophetic comfort.

5. 2024 is a 24th-chapters-of-the-Bible year. In Genesis 24, Rebekah was found, and picked from, among other girls to be Isaac’s wife. The thick veil that covered Rebekah was lifted and she was chosen to become the wife of Isaac, the Seed of Promise, and the mother of Esau and Jacob. In First Samuel 24, Saul and his company who chased David to the cave were overtaken by sleep and fell into the hands of David but he spared Saul. In Second Samuel 24, Mount Moriah, which had become the threshing floor of a Jebusite, was recovered and made an altar for God. That was where Solomon built the temple of God. The returnees rebuilt the temple on the same site. The 24th Psalm opens with the acknowledgment of God as the Owner of the earth and all that is in it. Psalm 24:1-2 says, “The earth is the LORD’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters”. God demonstrates He is the Owner of the earth in the 24th season. In Luke 24, Jesus rose from the dead and broke through the sealed tomb. In Acts 24, Tertulius gathered vain fellows to raise accusation against Paul but the false accusers could not prevail. In the same chapter, Governor Felix who denied Paul due justice was moved out and Governor Festus took his place. Every 24th chapter of the Bible is applicable to 2024 and any other 24th year. This is a year of manifestation; and hindrances to manifestation will be removed. New rules against diverse restrictions are going to be made in different parts of the world.

2023 is a year of cleaning and tidying up the house of God in individual lives, communities and nations. Altars taking the place of God in our lives are to be demolished and replaced with the altar of God. 2023 is a year to give ourselves wholly to God. 2024 is a year of desolations. Those who neglected the word of God in 2023 will face the terrible consequences in 2024. The Lord will fight to recover His place among His people and on the earth.

In 2024, God’s charge against His people will be that “they have forsaken me”. There will be a call to return to Him. Some will heed the call but many will harden their hearts. The result will be judgment and desolation. Those who heed the call of God will be separated from the rest. 2024 will be a ‘Rebekah Year’. The Rebekahs of this season will be separated from the familiar ‘house of Laban’ to be joined to their Isaacs in the place of destiny.

B. SEVEN FACES OF 2024

1. Season of ‘relocations’ based on identity & purpose  (Genesis 24; Jeremiah, the captives, 2 Samuel 24). There will be relocations – spiritual, vocational, geographical. The relocation may be voluntary or involuntary. Babylonian captivity of the Jews in the book of Jeremiah was an involuntary.

2. Season of Prophetic Voices – speaking for God (the book of Jeremiah, 2 Samuel 24). This is a year of “the word of the Lord”. It is a year of “Thus says the Lord”. Prophets preach repentance. Prophets call people to return to God. Prophets warn about and release judgment. Prophets speak restoration and give hope.

3. Season of demonstrating loyalty to God & separating from the crowd (Genesis 24; Joshua & Caleb; Numbers 24; Joshua 24; Psalm 24)

4. Season of enduring Opposition and Persecutions (Jeremiah, 1 Samuel 24; Acts 24; Matthew 24)

5. Season of battling Falsehood (Acts 24; Job 24)

6. Season of Judgment. There are six unfriendly words used in the book of Jeremiah that may suggest the direction of the year 2024. They are wake-up words. The words are adversity, calamity, catastrophe, desolation, destruction and disaster.

The word ‘adversity’ is used in 20 verses (and in 9 books) in the entire Bible. In the book of Jeremiah, it is used in six verses. This is more than 25%.

The word ‘calamity‘ is used in 46 verses of the Bible. In Jeremiah alone, it is used in 14 verses. This more than 25%.

The word ‘catastrophe’ is used only in four verses of the Bible. The four verses are in the book of Jeremiah (11:23; 19:3; 44:11; 51:64)

The word ‘desolate’ is used in 132 verses in the entire Bible. The Book of Jeremiah (the 24th book of the Bible) has 35 of those verses. That is more than 25%. This indicates that 2024 will be a year of desolations.

The word destruction is used in 109 verses of the Bible (94 in the Old Testament). It is used 10 verses of Jeremiah. This is more than 9%.

The word ‘disaster‘ is used in 38 verses of the Bible. 12 of those verses are in the book of Jeremiah. That is more than 25%. (Isaiah 24; Jeremiah 24; Ezekiel 24

7. Season of establishing servant leaders (Luke 24; Rebekah 24). Season when those who are in alignment with God will experience the power of God to bless.

C. HOW TO LIVE IN 2024

1. Desire and seek proper positioning for the season. Rebekah was repositioned in Genesis 24 through marriage to Isaac and relocation. Moses and his team repositioned in Exodus 24, by the Word of the Lord, to be able to receive what God had for Israel. Joshua called the elders of Israel in Joshua 24 to reposition themselves and the people for the next level with God. In Second Samuel 24, God guided David, through Prophet Gad, to reposition Mount Moriah from hosting a threshing floor to hosting an altar. In First Chronicles 24, David positioned the priests and levites for the work of the tabernacle. In Second Chronicles 24, Jehoiada the Priest guided young king Joash to reposition Judah for God’s blessings by repairing the temple. In the 24th book of the Bible, God repositioned Jeremiah from being a priest to becoming a prophet. What would God have you do so differently as you move into a new season – as an individual, leader, family, business, ministry, church, institution, community or nation? It is very costly to be wrongly positioned in any season. Be ready to go where He wants and do what He wants. You can’t afford to miss whatever God has for you in the new season.

2. Receive the Word, Believe it and Stay with it. Don’t speak your mind or feeling. Stand strong on your identity and purpose in Christ. Jeremiah believed what God told him about his ordination – identity and purpose (Jeremiah 1: 5).

3. Preach and speak the word and call people to repentance to avert judgment. God is jealous that His people have forsaken Him to run after other gods (idols). 2024 is a year of divine jealousy. God is displeased with anything that makes it difficult for His voice to be received on earth in the third season. He wants you to remove barriers and alternatives to communion with Him in this season (Jeremiah 3:1,7,12-15,21-22; 4:1; 8:4-7;15:6-8, 19).

Jeremiah is called the weeping prophet and a prophet of doom because of what God revealed to him and the burden he had to call his people back to God and keep them from judgment (Jeremiah 1:16; 2:13; 5:7,19; 15:6; 16:10-11; 19:3-4).

4. Be ready to stand alone for God if you have to. Don’t go with the crowd.

5. Be determined to endure opposition and persecution

6. Be sensitive. Don’t build what Heaven wants to pull down. Don’t stay where God has left. Don’t defend what God wants to destroy.

7. Be productive per your identity, purpose and potential. This is a year of identity and purpose. God has a name and a purpose for you. The time has come to show who you are and why you exist by the fruits you bear. This is a year of bringing forth what God had put in you.

Happy 2024!

THE MYSTERY OF THE 32ND ANNIVERSARY OF NIGERIA’S SEAT OF POWER IN ABUJA (1991-2023)

0

Although the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria was created in 1976, the seat of power did not move, effectively, from Lagos to Abuja until December 12, 1991 (12/12/1991) under the Ibrahim Babangida administration. Since the relocation of the capital from Lagos, nine leaders have piloted Nigeria’s affairs from Abuja. – 1) Babangida (1985-1993); 2) Shonekan (August -November 1993); 3) Abacha (19(1999-2007); 6) Yar’Adua (2007-2010); 7) Jonathan (2010-2015); 8) Buhari (2015-2023); 9) Tinubu.(2023 –

December 12, 2023 is the 32nd anniversary of Nigeria’s seat of power in Abuja. As goes the seat of power in Abuja, so goes Nigeria. Biblical patterns for each year of the government in Abuja shows that we need to watch, spiritually, the seasons of the seat of power in Nigeria.

The 32nd book and chapters of the Bible help us to understand some things that have happened in Nigeria since the past 12 months. Today, Nigeria and Nigerians are like Jonah in the belly of a fish. We are crying again for deliverance. Like Jonah in the 32nd book of the Bible, the leaders of Nigeria knew the right thing to do but chose to go their preferred way. Unlike Jonah, they make no room for repentance. Like Aaron in Exodus 32, the authorities in Nigeria have given Nigerians ‘the golden calf’ as saviour’. What we have today is like a mockery of the real thing we desire. Read the other 32nd chapters of the Bible to understand where we missed it in the 32nd year of Nigeria’s seat of in Abuja.

Whatever happened with our past, the Lord is bringing us into a new year: the 33rd year of Nigeria’s seat of power in Abuja (December 12, 2023 – December 11, 2024).

Nigeria’s seat of power in Abuja is moving into the fifth year of her fifth 7 years. This is a core fifth day of creation year. It is also a Book of Micah year. Micah is the 33rd book of the Bible.

THE DIVINE AGENDA FOR THE SEASON

What is the divine agenda for the 33rd year and how should we pray? The Bible reveals six things about the 33rd season:

1. It is a time when people meet face-to-face with the fearful things they wish never happens.

Isaiah 33:1,3 says, “Woe to you who plunder, though you have not been plundered; And you who deal treacherously, though they have not dealt treacherously with you! When you cease plundering, You will be plundered; When you make an end of dealing treacherously, They will deal treacherously with you. [3] At the noise of the tumult the people shall flee; When You lift Yourself up, the nations shall be scattered”;

In Genesis 33, Jacob came face to face with his brother, Esau, but there was no trouble because God was with him.

Second Chronicles 33 is about the evil reign of Manasseh and his son, Amon, and what they suffered. Manasseh became a captive of the king of Assyria until he repented and God restored him. His son, Amon was murdered by his servants.

In the 33rd year of Nigeria, Chief MKO Abiola watched the government annul the 1993 election he was announced winner. Ibrahim Babangida stepped down and handed over to an Interim National Government that lasted 84 days and was overthrown by Sani Abacha as Nigeria’s 10th leader.

The first leader to order the use of Atomic Bomb in warfare was the 33rd President of the United States – Harry Truman. Japan saw what they wished never happened – with the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945

Terrorists bombed the twin towers of the World Trade Center at the beginning of the 33rd seven years of the United States. America came face to face with ‘undesired fire’.

The year 1933 was a season of deadly fiery visitations.

In the 33rd year of Ghana, (March 1989 – March 1990), the government suspended Christian activities and public meetings in ‘the freeze’. The ban was lifted November 1990.

PRAYER : Pray that evil and wicked people in Nigeria will run into fearful things they have been running from. Pray that the Lord will deliver the righteous in Nigeria from their fears

2. It is a season to break up camp and move on to the next level and place. It is a season of progressive movement

Exodus 33:1-3 says, “Then the LORD said to Moses, “Depart and go up from here, you and the people whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt, to the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, ‘To your descendants I will give it.’

In Numbers 33, Israel’s journey from Egypt to Jordan is summarized – according to starting and stopping points. Three words implying motion (move, departed, went) are used 42 times in this chapter. The word ‘camped’ is also used 42 times in Numbers 33.

The death of Aaron at 123 years, on Mount Hur, is recorded in this chapter. His son Eleazar took over from him.

In 1995, the 33rf year of Uganda, the country established her new constitution that made provision for political parties. That was progress.

PRAYER: Pray this year that there will be a progressive shift in Nigeria and for Nigerians. This year, the Lord is prompting Nigeria to move from camping. This is a no-stopping year. The Lord wants us to move and move and move.

3. It is a season of blessing, redemption, and restoration .

In Deuteronomy 33, Moses blessed the children of Israel before his death. In Job 33, Elihu spoke of ransom, redemption, and of a mediator. You do not need any of those three unless there is trouble. They are needed in the 33rd season. In Jeremiah 33, God promised to cause the captivity of Judah to return and to restore Jerusalem.

PRAYER : Pray and prophesy blessings over Nigeria and over Nigerians this 33rd year of the Villa in Abuja. Bless the local government areas, the states, and the Federal Capital Territory. Decree recovery and restoration over Nigeria.

4. It is a season of judgment.

Second Chronicles 33 is about the evil reign of Manasseh. Although he repented, God decreed captivity against Judah because of the sins of Manasseh. He was the longest serving king in Judah and his death is recorded in this chapter. His son and successor, Amon, also ruled and was assassinated in this chapter. This chapter ends with the emergence of Josiah – the reformer-grandson of Manasseh.

Isaiah 33 is about the judgment coming to Zion and to the Plunderer that had not been plundered. The book of Micah is the 33rd book of the Bible and it contains woes and judgments.

PRAYER: Pray that the Lord will bring down the wicked in the nation. Pray that He will raise replacements who will reverse the works of the wicked in the land. Pray against fire disasters from explosions in the cities of Nigeria.

5. It is a season to rejoice in the Lord and praise His name.

Psalm 33 is a call to rejoice in the Lord and praise Him (1-3) for His powerful word (4-12) and for His sovereign and saving power (13-22). This is a season of joy. May the Lord keep pain and sorrow far from Nigerians in this season.

PRAYER : Pray that this 33rd year of the Villa in Abuja will be a year of rejoicing (not sorrowing) in Nigeria. We have wept enough in this country. Let joy overtake mourning in Nigeria.

6. It is a watchman season.

In Ezekiel 33, the prophet was appointed a watchman to warn the people of impending disaster. News of the fall of Jerusalem came to Ezekiel in this chapter. Ezekiel 33 is about the certainty of the judgment. The enemy struck the towers at the beginning of America’s 33rd seven years (2001) – saying, as it were, “where are your Watchmen?”.

PRAYER : Pray for grace to stand on the watch with your spiritual senses on alert. Pray also that all watchmen over Nigeria will be alert and not
slumber in this year. Pray that they watch and promptly declare what they see.

The 50th Chapters of the Bible, the 50th Book of the Bible and the 50th Week of the Year (December 10-16).

0

The 50th week is for thanksgiving, praising God, redeeming vows, and for calling upon God. It is for celebrating the Creator, Owner, Sustainer, and Sovereign Ruler, of the Universe.

The 23-verse Psalm 50 reveals that the 50th season is the time of God’s outshining to rebuke darkness and judge wickedness. Psalm 50:1-4 says, “The Mighty One, God the LORD, Has spoken and called the earth From the rising of the sun to its going down. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God will shine forth. Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; A fire shall devour before Him, And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him. He shall call to the heavens from above, And to the earth, that He may judge His people”. In this chapter, God reveals He is Self-sufficient and does not need anything from man. Psalm 50:7-15 says, “Hear, O My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you; I am God, your God! I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices Or your burnt offerings, Which are continually before Me. I will not take a bull from your house, Nor goats out of your folds. For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills. I know all the birds of the mountains, And the wild beasts of the field are Mine. “If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all its fullness. Will I eat the flesh of bulls, Or drink the blood of goats? Offer to God thanksgiving, And pay your vows to the Most High. Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”

Isaiah 50 is God’s reply to complainers among His people who blame God for their problems. He tells them to look inwards and take responsibility for their troubles. Isaiah 50:1-3 says, “Thus says the LORD: “Where is the certificate of your mother’s divorce, Whom I have put away? Or which of My creditors is it to whom I have sold you? For your iniquities you have sold yourselves, And for your transgressions your mother has been put away. Why, when I came, was there no man? Why, when I called, was there none to answer? Is My hand shortened at all that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Indeed with My rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness; Their fish stink because there is no water, And die of thirst. I clothe the heavens with blackness, And I make sackcloth their covering.”

After listening to God, the complainer changed and said in the fourth verse “The Lord has given me the tongue of the learned”; in the fifth verse, “The Lord has opened my ears”; in the seventh verse, “…The Lord God will help me”; and in the ninth verse, he repeats, “Surely, the Lord will help me”. Complaining is the wrong road in this 50th week of the year.

In both Psalm 50 and Isaiah 50, God shows Himself as the powerful, dependable, All-Sufficient Helper. That is why our rejoicing must be in Him.

Jeremiah 50 is prophecy of God’s judgment against Babylon. What does judgment have to do with jubilee? The downfall of the wicked causes rejoicing and jubilation. Proverbs 11:10 says, “When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices; And when the wicked perish, there is jubilation”. Week 50 is a week o divine retribution. It is a season of the recompense of justice for those who reject the covering of grace. In the 50th season, God causes jubilation by judging the wicked, saving the distressed and stopping calamity.

Week 50 is a book-of-Philippians week. The 50th book of the Bible is Paul’s epistle to the Philippians. This is not a book of great revelation or doctrines but an epistle on the right attitude to life in different situations. The theme of this epistle is JOY. The book calls the reader to rejoice in the Lord always. The word ‘joy’ is used about four times. The word ‘glad’ or ‘gladness’ is used about three times. The word ‘rejoice’ is used about 11 times. The word ‘thank’ or ‘thanksgiving’ is used two times. The word ‘sorrow’ or ‘sorrowful’ is used thrice. The rejoicing, gladness, and thanksgiving, of the season is because of the accomplished or anticipated triumphs in the season. The 50th season is not a season of sorrowing, complaining, strife, quarreling, worrying, or of losses – although that is what the adversary wants to make it. Joy keeps the enemy away. The joy of the Lord is our strength.

This week is for joy and rejoicing. In the 50th book of the Bible (Philippians), Paul took a stand against complaining, worrying, strife, quarreling. Rather, he called God’s people to rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS . Joy works miracles! Paul’s material needs were fully met in this book, Epaphroditus (Paul’s associate) who was sick to the point of death also recovered; and things that happened to him, to hurt him, advanced the gospel. Remember it was at Philippi that Paul and Silas sang praises and released earthquake on the jailhouse. As life swallows up death, and light drives darkness away, that is how joy shuts the door against mourning and sorrowing. Joy brings joyful testimonies. Try it this 50th week. What is revealed about joy in the 50th book of the Bible is, perhaps, related to what God in Leviticus 25:10-14 about ‘jubilee’: “And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family. [11] That fiftieth year shall be a Jubilee to you; in it you shall neither sow nor reap what grows of its own accord, nor gather the grapes of your untended vine. [12] For it is the Jubilee; it shall be holy to you; you shall eat its produce from the field. [13] ‘In this Year of Jubilee, each of you shall return to his possession. [14] And if you sell anything to your neighbor or buy from your neighbor’s hand, you shall not oppress one another.

The 50th book of the Bible reveals, also, that the 50th week is a season to mock death. It is a season to honor God in spite of death. This week, don’t let the fear of death stop you. Philippians 2:8 says Jesus became obedient to the point of death. Philippians 2:30 says that Epaphroditus, “because for the work of Christ he came close to death, not regarding his life”. In Philippians 1:20-23, Paul said, “… Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. [22] But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. [23] For c I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.” In Philippians 3:7-11, said, “But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. [8] Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ [9] and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; [10] that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, [11] if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. In Philippians 3: 20-21, he wrote, “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, [21] who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

I enjoyed reading the 50th chapter of Genesis and comparing it with the 50th book of the Bible. The sync is amazing. My conclusion is that the arrangement and placement of Bible narratives, books, and chapter numbers is nothing short of Divine Inspiration.

1. In the 50th chapter of Genesis, Joseph and his brothers mourned and buried their father. The account of Joseph’s death and embalmment is also recorded in this chapter. This chapter is about death, burial, sorrowing and mourning. In the 50th book of the Bible, Philippians, Epaphroditus was sick and came close to death but God spared his life and kept sorrowing away from Paul and his companions. This 50th week, you will not sorrow or mourn. It is a week of triumph over death.

2. In the 50th chapter of Genesis, after Jacob had been buried, Joseph’s brothers were anxious and afraid that Joseph would pay them back for the evil they did to him. They met him and asked to be forgiven. He spoke kindly to them and allayed their fears and worries, In the 50th book of the Bible, Paul said, in 4:6, “Be careful for nothing; but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God…”. This 50th week, don’t fear; don’t worry; just pray, give thanks, and enjoy the incomprehensible peace of God. Instead of thoughts of fear, Paul said in 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things”.

3. In the 50th chapter of Genesis, Joseph told his brothers that though they meant evil against him, God turned it to good – to save lives. In the 50th book of the Bible, Paul said, in chapter one verse 12, “But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel”. This 50th week, God will make all things work out good for you and for His name.

4. In the 50th chapter of Genesis, Joseph assured his brothers he would provide for them and their little ones. In the 50th book of the Bible, Paul said, in 4:19, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus”. This 50th week, God will provide adequately for you.

5. In the 50th chapter of Genesis, Joseph told his brothers that God would surely visit them and take them back to the land He promised their fathers. In the 50th book of the Bible, Paul told the Philippians that God who began the good work in them would perfect it. This 50th week, the Lord will show Himself a Finisher and Perfecter of what He started in your life.

6. In Genesis 50, Joseph told his brothers to keep their eyes on returning to the Promised Land. In the 50th book of the Bible, Paul speaks of giving up everything for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ; forgetting the things that are behind and pressing towards the mark of the high calling in Christ; and looking forward to the coming of our Savior to transform our lowly mortal body to be like His glorious immortal body. This week, do not settle for anything short of hitting the target. What matters in the 50th season is finishing and hitting the target. It is not a time to settle but a time to keep advancing.

7. In the 50th chapter of Genesis, Joseph’s brothers bowed to him to seek his favor. Pharaoh had exalted him highly, made him second in command in Egypt, and commanded all to bow the knee to him . In the 50th book of the Bible, Jesus is highly exalted and bears the name that is above all other names. At His name, every knee should bows and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. This week, knees will bow to the Christ in you.

This week is for life – not for death. Shut out worrying, complaining, quarreling, and strife. Be released from depression! Let your heart overflow with joy because of the sufficiency you have in God, our Father. This 50th week of the year shall be for you a book of Philippians week. It’s a new beginning. Enjoy the Jubilee!

Happy 50th week!!!

The 31st Birthday/Anniversary & the Mystery of the 32nd Year (Part 1)

0

Happy 31st Birthday/Anniversary and welcome to the 32nd year! The 31st birthday/Anniversary is the end of the 31st year and the beginning of the 32nd year.

DEFINITION AND DESCRIPTION:

The 32nd year is the 12-month season following the 31st Anniversary or Birthday. It is the fourth year in the fifth seven year season. It is called a fourth-season year.

BIBLICAL PATTERNS FOR THE SEASON

There are 4 Biblical patterns for understanding the 32nd year:

1. Year 32 is fourth day of creation season. On the fourth day of creation, God made the luminaries- the sun, the moon, and the stars. He made them to give light, to rule the day and the night, to divide the day from the night, and to be for signs and seasons. The fourth season is a fight-back season for darkness. So, for the child of God, it is a season to keep darkness away by light. In the 32nd season, the kingdom of darkness attacks men with mental darkness to cause them to stumble and fall. It is a season to garrison your mind with light and think clearly. Submission to God turns on the light for the season; but rebellion against God turns off the light and opens the way for darkness to take over.

2. Yesr 32 is a book-of-Jonah season. In Jonah, the 32nd book of the Bible, the prophet was sent to go and cry against Nineveh for her sins. He failed the obedience test and ran from the presence of God; but ran into disaster. He repented in the belly of fish and prayed to God. The fish that swallowed him vomited him and he went to Nineveh and preached as God had commanded him. The 32nd season is a season of submission to divine direction and guidance. It is not a time to do your own thing.

3. Year 32 is a Deuteronomy 16-20 season. The fourth five chapters of the fifth book of the Bible is applicable to the fourth week in the fifth 49 days of the year. In the fourth five chapters of Deuteronomy, God gave instructions and commandments concerning feasts, offerings, justice, respect to priesthood, kingship, care of Levites and priests, idol worship and spiritism, prophetic ministry, and cities of refuge. The 32nd season is a season instruction for light.

4. Year 32 is a 32nd-chapters-of-the-Bible season. In Genesis 32, Jacob prepares to meet with Esau and wrestles with God. He had run from Esau but now must face Esau. He tried to figure out and strategize how to meet Esau; but the best he did was to pray and spend time with God. The encounter changed him. He would meet Esau, not as Jacob but as israel. In Exodus 32, Aaron made the Golden Calf for Israel. He failed the test. They wanted to replace Moses and God and sinned; but ran into trouble. Moses had gone to Mountain to receive the Law and Light for the nation. The breaking of the tablets of the Law meant turning off the light of the nation. People were killed and God also visited the people with plague. In Numbers 32, the Reubenites and Gadites requested to remain on the side before Jordan. They did not want to cross the Jordan. Moses did not like it much; and warned them. They eventually reached an agreement; and still went where they did not want to go. In the 32nd season, people are tempted to choose their own way and give half-hearted loyalty to God. In Deuteronomy 32, Moses spoke to Israel in a song and reminded them of their stubbornness before God; and how that by running from God, they often ran into the anger of God. After speaking to Israel, God commanded Moses to go up to Mount Abarim and die there. The law and justice demand satisfaction in the 32nd season; because sin is remembered in that season. Moses spoke of God’s vengeance in this chapter. In Second Chronicles 32, Sennacherib came against Judah and boasted against God. He overstepped his boundaries. His army was destroyed and his children killed him. Hezekiah received prophecy of death but cried out to God and was healed. He became proud. He received Babylonian visitors that came to see him. He was tested but failed the test. Hezekiah died in this chapter. In Job 32, Elihu, a young man in the company of Job’s friends, who had restrained himself from speaking, because of his age, spoke out – confronting both the three friends of Job and Job himself. He even tually did what he did not want to do. He had five chapters of uninterrupted rebuke-speech. No one else spoke that long at once. In Psalm 32, the psalmist speaks, from experience, of the blessedness of being forgiven. Sin is costly. Stubbornness pushes us back into the gallery with God – and we become like a horse or mule which have no understanding but have to be harnessed with bit and bridle to be drawn. Many sorrows shall be to the wicked. Do not resist God in the 32nd season. Mercy is precious in the 32nd season because the season cries for justice and vengeance against sin and rebellion. Isaiah 32 is about a purging distress that would come upon God’s people. God’s people failed the test. Disaster comes on the complacent in the 32nd season. In Jeremiah 32, the prophet was shut up in prison because the king did not believe that what the prophet said would happen. It happened. Then a seeming contradiction occurs. God commands Jeremiah to buy a field from his uncle as faith-proof that the captives of Babylon would return to the land. Jeremiah passed the faith-test. Obedience to divine instruction is a blessing in the 32nd season. God assured Jeremiah that although the people will go into captivity and the land will become desolate, He would restore them to the land.  Mercy is very loud in the 32nd season. Ezekiel 32 is the prophet’s lamentation for Egypt’s desolation. Egypt failed the humility-test.

HOW TO LIVE IN THE 32ND YEAR

In the first part of this post, I discussed the Biblical patterns for the 32nd year. I did that to help you gain a broader perspective of the season. In this second par of the post, I am going to discuss how to live through the 32nd year successfully.

Every season has its purpose and principles. If you understand the purpose of the season and follow the principles of the season, you will be successful in the season.

1. Year 32 is the beginning of a new phase of life. Since the 31st is an endpoint, the 32nd year is a new beginning. Job 32 illustrates this. The last verse of Job 31 says “the words of Job are ended”. From the 32nd chapter till the 37th, Elihu spoke. Elihu was not one of Job’s three friends that spoke from Job 4-28 and his name was never mentioned until the 32nd chapter. The 32 year is not like anything you saw in your first 31 years. It is a season you must approach with humility and prayer.

2. Year 32 is a season of instruction from above. Since this 32nd year is the beginning of a new phase of life, it is only proper to seek to hear the voice of God from the beginning and receive his instruction for the new season. In Psalm 32: 8, the Lord made a promise: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye” (NKJV). Jacob was alone with God in Genesis 32 and received a new name for the new season. In Exodus 32, Moses was on the mountain, with God, to receive His commandments to Israel. In the 32nd book of the Bible (Jonah), God commanded the prophet to go and preach to the people of Nineveh. The prophet thought he had options and decided to go to Tarshish instead. He did not know the Lord wanted his ministry to move into new phase by sending him to Nineveh.?

3. Year 32 is a Bridge. It is the midpoint of the fifth seven years (29-35). It is the link between the Old Testament side (first three years) of the seven year season and the New Testament side (last three years) of the season. You must go through the 32nd year like someone crossing a bridge – with watchfulness, carefulness and hope (expectation).

4. Year 32 is a season of examination and temptation. Since the 32nd year is the bridge to the New Testament side of the fifth 7 years, it is an examination and cross-examination. It is a season when hearts are rested. The fourth year in every seven years is a season of tests and temptations. The fourth in every 7 books (Numbers, First Kings, Job, Lamentations, Jonah, Malachi, First Corinthians, Second Thessalonians, First Peter, of the Bible bear witness to this. The fourth in every 7 chapters of the Bible (4, 11, 18, 25, 32, 39, 46, 53, 60, 67, 74, 81, 88, 95….) also bear witness to this. The 32nd year is to handled like an examination. In this season, the enemy tempts us to pull us down if we make wrong decisions but the tests our hearts to strengthen and validate us. Pray to have heightened sensitivity in this season.

5. Year 32 is a season of empowerment for the journey ahead. It is a time to draw power from heaven. In this season, we are empowered through prayer, fasting and spending time in the Word and presence of God. Hezekiah drew power power from God against Sennacherib in Second Chronicles 32.

6. Year 32 is a season of mercy and second chance. God give people opportunity, in the 32nd season, to create a new future. He does this through mercy and forgiveness. That is the reason Psalm 32:1-2,5 says, “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. [2] Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit. [5] I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

Moses interceded for Israel before God in Exodus 32. God gave the nation another opportunity. In the 32nd book of the Bible, God gave both Jonah and the people of Nineveh another opportunity when they repented. Forgiveness of sin gives people a second chance. The 32nd season is a time to seek the mercy of God. Those who have done wrong in this season have a window of hope that they can seek God and obtain mercy. No one needs to be trapped by failure in this season.

Happy 32nd year. Congratulations on your 31st birthday/anniversary

THE 46TH WEEK OF THE YEAR (NOVEMBER 12-18)

0

We have come into a week of unity, reunion and peace in the year. That is part of the reason the book where Paul preached unity and love the most (First Corinthians) is the 46th book of the Bible. Our world also aligned with the scriptural pattern for the season when the first session of the UN General Assembly was held in 1946 – following the end of WW2. The Oslo Accord happened in 46th year of the State of Israel (May 1993 – May 1994). That was also the year of the Gaza – Jericho agreement. All those are confirmations that the Word of God holds patterns for our seasons. This is the 46th week of the year. O Lord, let your kingdom come and let your will be done, this week, in the nations of the earth as it is in heaven and as it is revealed in the Word.

The 46th week is the middle of the seventh 7 weeks of the year. This is bridge and Cross-over week within the seventh 7 weeks. This week connects the first three weeks of battles to the last three weeks of blessings within the 7-week season.

A. BIBLICAL PATTERNS FOR THE WEEK

1. The fourth day of creation (Genesis 1: 14-19). Week 45 is the third week in the seventh 7 weeks of the year. This week, the 4th in the seventh 7 weeks of the year (October 22 – December 9), is like the fourth day of creation when God made the luminaries.

2. The 46th book of the Bible (First Cirinthians)

3. The 46th chapters of the Bible (Genesis 46, Psalm 46, Isaiah 46, Jeremiah 46 and Ezekiel 46).

4. Judges 10-12. The 4th three chapters of the 7th book of the Bible is applicable to the fourth week in the 7th seven weeks of the year. This is a Jephthah-week when help comes from where it’s least expect and at a great price.

B. BIBLE READING SUGGESTIONS FOR THE WEEK

Going through the 46th week of the year is like taking a journey through the 46th book of the Bible (First Corinthians). It is also like walking through the five 46th chapters of the Bible. So, the Book of First Corinthians and the 46th chapters of the Bible are great guiding lights for the week.

You may want to read the suggested passages as follows or as led by the Spirit of God:

November 12: First Corinthians 1-3. Genesis 46.

November 13: First Corinthians 4-6. Psalm 46.

November 14: First Corinthians 7-8. Isaiah 46.

November 15: First Corinthians 9-10. Jeremiah 46.

November 16: First Corinthians 11-12. Ezekiel 46;

November 17: First Corinthians 13-14

November 18: First Corinthians 15-16

C. THOUGHTS ON THE 46TH WEEK

What’s the mind of God concerning the 46th week and how should we pray?

This is a season to pray for the unity among God’s people. The 46th book of the Bible is a call to love and unity. In this book, Paul rebuked the Corinthian church for allowing divisions in the church and for exalting personal preferences above people, purpose and principles. He rebuked their preference of knowledge above love. He rebuked their quest for power above their love for people. He rebuked their preference of certain leaders above the unity of the Body. He wanted them to be a church that prioritized edification of one another instead of projecting individual/personal gifts.

In the 46th chapter of Genesis, Jacob’s family in the land of Canaan joined Jacob’s family in Egypt. The family came together and had joyful REUNION in this chapter.

Psalm 46 is a corporate confession of faith in God. It is not about ‘me’, ”my’, and ‘mine’. It is about ‘our’, ‘us’, and ‘we’. In 1946, after the end of the Second World War, the nations of the world saw the need to come together. The first session of the United Nations General Assembly began January 10, 1946. Unity was in the air in 1946 to fulfill Psalm 46:8-9: “Come, behold the works of the LORD, Who has made desolations in the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire”. In 2006, the 46th year of Nigeria, the President (Obasanjo) and the Vice President (Atiku) were in a cold war. The Legislature and the Presidency were divided over the ‘third term’ agenda. The 46th week is a time unity; not a time of division or strife.

This 46th week of the year, the Lord is pointing to, and addressing, wholeness and togetherness in the lives of individuals, families, ministries, and nations. This week, God wants to see divided people come together for good purposes. Disunity is costly in this season

The will of God is that the 46th season be driven by unity (love), unwavering faith in God and the presence of God accompanied with signs. In this season, the adversary fights hard to rob people of God’s presence and the accompanying signs, through disunity, lack of faith and idolatry. This is the testimony of the 46th book and chapters of the Bible. The Lord is also offering His presence to those moving in the direction of love and unity according His will; and they need not fear ANYTHING.

In Genesis 46, when Jacob’s family came together to move to Egypt to REUNITE with Joseph, God told Jacob to not be afraid; and promised to be with him. The word of the Lord to Jacob was light in darkness to him. Jacob needed that reassurance because he was relocating from ‘the Promised Land’ to settle in Egypt. It is a powerful thing to have God’s word (and walk by it) in a fourth season like the. 46th week. Twice in Psalm 46 (verses 7 and 11), we read “The LORD of hosts is with US; The God of Jacob is OUR refuge. Selah”.

Isaiah 46:3-4 says, “Listen to Me, O House of Jacob, And all the remnant of the House of Israel, Who have been upheld by Me from birth, Who have been carried from the womb: Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you”.

The 46th season is a season of experiencing the supernatural. The Lord will grant supernatural manifestations in this season to show He is superior to idols. This is a season of peace and strength through unity and the presence of God. It is a season for a united people to move in, and experience, the supernatural works of God. In this season, people MUST stand on the pillars of unity, faith, and divine presence to be strong and safe. It is a season to walk in the love and power of God. It is a season of spectacular manifestations of power through unity and having God in our midst. To have one without the other is standing on one leg and that means powerlessness.

In the 46th book of the Bible, the Corinthian church enjoyed manifestations of God’s presence but lacked unity. There was envy, strife, competition, division, and disunity, among them. Paul said they were just noise makers like tinkling cymbals.

The other thing the devil does in the 46th season is to drive people to seek alternatives to faith in God. That is why God mocks idols in Isaiah 46; and Paul said in the 46th book book of the Bible that “an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one” (1 Corinthians 8:4). This is a week to boast in God and deride idolatry in all forms.

This 46th week, may you and all yours experience togetherness – as Jacob and his entire FAMILY came together to move to Egypt; and reunite with Joseph in Genesis 46. May true love override differences and preferences as Paul taught in the 46th book of the Bible. May everyone (the prince, the priest, and the people) have a recognized and respected place as Ezekiel 46 prescribed. As you do that, may the things that no eye had seen, nor ear heard, nor heart conceived be revealed and brought to light this week – as in the 46th book of the Bible. May the presence of God ACTIVELY go with you throughput this week as you line up with Him and the brethren. As Jacob and his family moved from Canaan to Egypt in Genesis 46, may the Lord lead you to cross over to a higher and better realm of life in this 46th week.

Although the Lord is speaking togetherness and wholeness this week, the enemy will want to unite his own and scatter God’s people. This week, God will scatter those who are uniting against Him and His purposes. They will gather to scatter!

This week, endeavor to pursue the glory of God in all you do; embrace love, and be open to the supernatural. Seek the presence of God in the atmosphere of love and unity. Love is the best answer to ‘questions’ of the 46th season. This week, do not exalt your head above your heart; or knowledge above love.

D. PRAYER POINTS FOR THE 46TH WEEK

1. Pray and prophesy the coming together of people who should be together. Speak and release love and unity into the atmosphere to influence the course of things this week.

2. O Lord, raise war against division and disunity in the camp of God’s people. Cure our self-centeredness and turn the hearts of your people to one another. Cause wars to cease in the Body of Christ. Let war cease in the nations too.

3. O Lord, let this week be a time to witness the mighty works of God rather than the destructive works of the enemy. Let your people witness spectacular manifestations of divine presence in their midsts.

4. Pray that nothing will compete with God in your life this week. Pray Isaiah 46 over the land and the nations – that the hearts of men will shift from their idols to the Living God.

5. Pray for the triumph of Israel. This is the 6th week of Israel – Hamas war (2023). It is a week of intense spiritual conflict (Ephesians 6: 10-18). God made man on the sixth day to have dominion. Israel subdued the Canaanites in the 6th book of the Bible. David subdued the Jebusites in Second Samuel 6. Elisha subdued Syrian troops in 2 Kings 6. Haman began to fall before Mordecai in Esther 6. Daniel subdued lions in Daniel 6. Pray that this week will be the week of Israel’s dominion over Hamas.

6. Pray against the unity of the enemies of God’s people. Pray and insist that unity will be impossible for those coming together outside, and against, God’s purpose.

7. Pray that God will make a way for Israelis held hostage by Hamas to return and reunite with their families.

E. SCRIPTURES FOR THE WEEK

Psalm 46:10: Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

Jeremiah 46:27: “But do not fear, O My servant Jacob, And do not be dismayed, O Israel! For behold, I will save you from afar, And your offspring from the land of their captivity; Jacob shall return, have rest and be at ease; No one shall make him afraid.

Happy 46th week of the year!

THE 45TH WEEK OF THE YEAR (NOVEMBER 5 – 11).

0

This week, mercy will flow like a river. Some who deserve to die will receive the gift of life. The totally undeserving will have favour.

This week, the Sovereign Lord will cause truth to be revealed, lies to be exposed and liars put to shame.

This week, tears will be wiped away. What you lost but thought was dead and buried will come back to you.

This week is a new beginning in the year. An end has come to going back and forth. Stability is replacing instability.

This 45th week, the Lord is saying, “I will give you the treasures of DARKNESS and HIDDEN riches of SECRET places, that you may know that I, the LORD, who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel” (Isaiah 45:3 NKJV).

A. BIBLICAL PATTERNS FOR THE WEEK

1. The third day of creation (Genesis 1: 9-14). Week 45 is the third week in the seventh 7 weeks of the year. This week, the third in the seventh 7 weeks of the year (October 22 – December 9), is like the third day of creation when God overthrew the waters under Heaven that stood between heaven and earth and revealed the dry ground to ‘receive’ directly from Heaven and also release its hidden potential.

This is a unique season of accord and communion between heaven and earth and there should be no obstruction. The 45th Book of the Bible is huge on how God moved the barrier between Heaven and earth by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

2. he 45th book of the Bible (Romans)

3. The 45th chapters of the Bible (Genesis 45, Psalm 45, Isaiah 45, Jeremiah 45 and Ezekiel 45).

4. Judges 7-9. The third three chapters of the 7th book of the Bible is applicable to the third week in the 7th seven weeks of the year. This is a week of ‘The Lord’s Battle’.

B. BIBLE READING SUGGESTIONS FOR THE WEEK

Going through the 45th week of the year is like taking a journey through the 45th book of the Bible (Romans). It is also like walking through the five 45th chapters of the Bible. So, the Book of Romans and the 45th chapters of the Bible are great guiding lights for the week.

You may want to read the suggested passages as follows or as led by the Spirit of God:

November 5: Romans 1-3. Genesis 45.

November 6: Romans 4-6. Psalm 45.

November 7: Romans 7-8. Isaiah 45.

November 8: Romans 9-10. Jeremiah 45.

November 9: Romans 11-12. Ezekiel 45;

November 10: Romans 13-14

November 11: Romans 15-16

C. MORE THOUGHTS ON THE 45TH WEEK

The 45th book and chapters of the Bible reveal 5 things concerning the 45th season:

1. The 45th week is a game-changing season. It is the third week in the 7th seven weeks of the year (October 22 – December 9). This week is for resetting systems and platforms as God did on the third day of creation. This is a week of ‘reset’.

The story of Jacob’s family changed from Genesis 45. Joseph secured resident permit for his family so they could move from Canaan and settle in Egypt.

The 45th book of the Bible is the beginning of epistles in the Bible and that is how the Bible ended – with letters and epistles.

1945 (the 45th year of the 20th century) was the year that changed the world and set a new course for the remaining part of the 20th century and beyond. The 32nd and longest serving President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt died in 1945. Italian Fascist leader, Benito Mussolini and German dictator, Adolf Hitler, also died in 1945. The Atomic bomb was used for the first time in 1945 – against Japan. The 6-year Second World War ended in 1945. Brexit happened within the 45th seven years of the United Kingdom (from 1707). The 45th President of the United States was a game-changer

.2. The 45th season is a season of revelations. Iet is a book of Romans week. It is a week of the revelation of righteousness, wrath, and grace. Paul began his unveiling of mysteries in this book. Although, the book of Romans was not the first epistle Paul wrote, it is placed before the others in the Bible. I believe this is because of the season it speaks to. Books and narratives of the Bible are where they are because of the season they speak to. The 45th season is also a time to uncover hidden lies and truth. Joseph revealed himself to his brothers in Genesis 45 and dismantled the lies they had told for more than 13 years. The #MeToo Movement flourished in the season of the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump. This is a week of opening up secrets. As we pray this week, things we would never have known will be brought to light. It is also a season to reveal positions, people, potential and possibilities.

3. The 45th season is a season of mercy and comfort. Joseph forgave and comforted his brothers in Genesis 45. He treated them better than they deserved. The 45th book of Bible tells us about God’s gift of eternal life in the place of the wages of sin. This is a week of great favors that can make you cry. This is a week of “Jacob I love”. It is a week of Isaiah 45:4:
“I have named you, though you have not known Me”.

4 The 45th season is a time to show off and magnify and celebrate the sovereignty of God. Isaiah 45 bears witness to this. The 45th book of the Bible also bears witness to this truth. Seven times in Isaiah 45, the Lord states He has no rival (verses 5, 6, 14, 18, 21 and 22).

5. The 45th is a season of the recovery or discovery of what was thought lost. Jacob discovered Joseph was alive in Genesis 45. This is a season to recover and restore lost people, places, possessions and positions.

D. PRAYER POINTS: FOR WEEK 45

1. O Lord , this week, throw your light over situations in the nations. Expose liars and their lies. Let hidden truth and hidden strongholds of the enemy, in the nations, be hidden no more.

2. O Lord, as in the book of Romans where you set aside the old way of righteousness, this week, put an end to the old and dysfunctional systems in our land and raise new platforms for good in the nations.

3. O Lord, as you named Cyrus in Isaiah 45, in this 45th week of the year, appoint your Cyrus for the defeat of enemies and the rebuilding of ruins in the nations. This week, let the gates of bronze and the bars of iron and steel be broken in pieces.

4. O Lord, let this 45th week be a season of visitations of mercy. Let mercy triumph over judgment. Let it be a week of loving kindness that produces repentance. O Lord, let your people shine by your grace and mercy this week. Let hearts be broken by demonstrations of your goodness to your people in the nations.

5. O Lord, let the hearts of your people in the nations pour out forgiveness for offences this 45th week – as Joseph forgave his brothers in Genesis 45.

6. O Sovereign Lord, show your Mighty Strenth on behalf of your people. As in Psalm 45, let those who love righteousness and hate wickedness – those who call upon you, in truth, rejoice this week and never be ashamed. Make this week their season of distinction.

7. O Lord, guide your people, this week, to find “the treasures of DARKNESS and HIDDEN riches of SECRET places” as You promised in Isaiah 45.

8. O Lord, cause a positive reset this week. Let this 45th week of the year be a game- changing week in the year – for good.

9. O Lord, this week, cause a discovery and recovery of the lost – people, places, possessions and positions. Let lost grounds be recovered.

10. In this week of the Lord’s battle, O Lord, do it again as you did for Gideon and Israel in Judges 7-8. Let the head of murderous ‘Abimelech’ be fatally wounded as in Judges 9.

SCRIPTURE FOR THE WEEK

Isaiah 45:2-3: “I will go before you And make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze And cut the bars of iron. [3] I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden riches of secret places, That you may know that I, the LORD, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel”.

Happy 45th week!

THE 44TH WEEK OF THE YEAR (OCTOBER 29 – NOVEMBER 4)

0

This 44th week of the year, Heaven will be working against space-blockers and evil monopolies that are obstructing freedom and progress in the pursuit of God’s plans and purposes on earth. This is a week of power clashes. Ultimate power belongs to God. So, any power that seeks to limit the advancement of God’s purpose this week is an enemy that Heaven will overrun.

As spiritual watchmen, we take sides with Heaven, this week, and engage all Heaven’s forces against ‘evil controlling powers’ in the nations. The ‘controlling powers’ may be human authorities, terrorists, disease, poverty, racism, evil spirits controlling people’s lives and causing disasters in society, or customs and traditions of men limiting people and keeping them in darkness. The controlling powers make it difficult for people to live the way God wants them to live. They put people in prison and hold them captive.

The 44th week is a book-of-Acts week because the book of Acts is the 44th book of the Bible. In this book, God sent the Helper, the Holy Spirit to the Church. He was the secret behind the phenomenal growth of the church in the book of Acts. In the book of Acts, the authorities did everything to put the Church of Jesus Christ in check. The church submitted to God rather than submitting to the dictates of the human authorities. They said, “We would obey God rather than men”. There were reactions from the authorities (false accusation, physical abuse, imprisonment, and killings) but God always proved Himself greater than the authorities and their schemes. He granted mysterious escapes and deliverances to His persecuted people. God demonstrated His Superior Power to thwart the monopoly of hindering and opposing human authorities and advance His church. He granted power for miracles and amazing signs to His Christ-followers; and opened prisons mysteriously to release His servants.

The church was unstoppable in the book of Acts. The 44th week is when God makes way, forcefully, where there is no way. God sends help in second seasons like this44th week. The 44th week could be a season of harassment and intimidation through persecution; a season arrests, physical abuses, and incarceration; but it is also a season of mysterious deliverances and escapes. The 44th season is a season of conflict between liberals and conservatives, between, those who know God and those who do not; and between the weak and the strong. The seasons compels those who know God to call upon Him for help and intervention. It is a season of conflict between the gods and God; in which God demonstrates His sovereignty and superior majesty.

The word ‘prison’ appears in 66 verses in the entire New Testament. Twenty-nine of those verses are in the book of Acts. In this book, God demonstrated that human prisons and security guards were like toys before Him. Through prayer and manifestations of the power of God, the Church remained unstoppable; and even wore out the human authorities. The 44th season is a season of intense battle. The Lord clothed His Church with power at the beginning of the 44th book of the Bible because the 44th season is for ‘clash of powers’ and ‘show of force’. As the Church was unstoppable in the 44th book of the Bible, that is how you should be unstoppable this 44th week of the year.

In the 44th season, the evil one wants to put the just in prison but God’s will in this season is to open prison doors and set captives free. Three times in the 44th book of the Bible, people were released from prison supernaturally (Acts 5, 12 and 16). This is besides those who were freed from disease, lack, demonic powers and religious bondage. This is a week of opening prison doors.

OTHER BIBLICAL PATTERNS FOR THE 44TH WEEK

1. The 44th week is a second-day-of-creation week. This is because the 44th week is the second week in the seventh 7-week season of the year that egan October 22. As a second day of creation week, this 44th week is a season to deal with evil monopolies, space-blockers and controlling powers by engaging the firmament and space-maker called ‘Heaven’ in Genesis 1:6-8.

2. The 44th week is a Judges 4-6 week. The second 3 chapters of the 7th book of the Bible are applicable to the second week in the seventh 7 weeks of the year. This is a Deborah-Barak-Jael-Gideon week. It is a time to nail ‘Sisera’ to the ground! It is a time to awaken and challenge the fearful Gideons to go to war.

3. The second 10 books of the Old Testament (First Kings – Proverbs) is key to understanding the second week in the seventh 7 weeks of the year. It is key to understanding the significance of October 29 – November 4 in the seven week season running from October 22 to December 9. The 44th week is a time to triumph through the fear of God and godliness.

4. The 44th week of the year is a 44th chapters of the Bible week. The five 44th chapters of the Bible are Genesis 44, Psalm 44, Isaiah 44, Jeremiah 44 and Ezekiel 44.

B. BIBLE READING SUGGESTIONS FOR THE WEEK

Going through the 44th week of the year is like taking a journey through the 44th book of the Bible (Acts). It is also like walking through the five 44th chapters of the Bible. So, the Book of Acts and the 44th chapters of the Bible are great guiding lights for the week.

You may want to read the suggested passages as follows or as led by the Spirit of God:

October 29: Acts 1-4. Genesis 44.

October 30: Acts 5-8. Psalm 44.

October 31: Acts 9-12. Isaiah 44.

November 1: Acts 13-16. Jeremiah 44.

November 2: Acts 17-20. Ezekiel 44;

November 3: Acts 21-24

November 4: Acts 25-28

C. THOUGHTS AND PRAYER POINTS FOR THE 44TH WEEK

What does the Bible reveal about the 44th?

The 44th gate of time is the gate used by powers – powers that oppress and powers that deliver; powers that hinder and powers that help.; powers that shut doors and powers that open doors; the power of God and the power of man or satan. The hindering powers want only to have their ways to do whatever they want. The helping powers use this gate of time to rescue the just and innocent who are at the mercy of the proud and arrogant powers.

This 44th season is a week of help against closed doors. It is part of the 7th seven weeks of the year. In this season, God sends or gives help to make a way where there is no way. It is a gate of time through which help passes to open doors for the despised and persecuted. The 44th book of the Bible records the coming of the Helper, the Promise of the Father, to make a way for the Church where there is no way and to cause the unprecedented to happen.

It is the Spirit of Help that passes through this gate of time that gave the Allied Powers wisdom to fight a decisive three-month battle, from D–Day in 1944, against the Axis Powers to liberate all of France. It is the same Spirit of help that broke through monopolies and made way for Barak Obama to become the 44th President of the United States and the first African American to serve as US President. He is answerable to his Creator how he used the golden opportunity.

Psalm 44 is the cry of the oppressed and persecuted to the God of miracles for intervention. Psalm 44:22-26 says, “Yet for Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Awake! Why do You sleep, O Lord? Arise! Do not cast us off forever. Why do You hide Your face, And forget our affliction and our oppression? [25] For our soul is bowed down to the dust; Our body clings to the ground. [26] Arise for our help, And redeem us for Your mercies’ sake”.

God shows off His power in the 44th season.

Isaiah 44:6 says, “Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God”. He mocks idols and idol worshippers in Isaiah 44:9-20.

God shows off His sovereignty in the 44th season.

Isaiah 44: 24-27 says, “Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, And He who formed you from the womb: “I am the LORD, who makes all things, Who stretches out the heavens all alone, Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself; [25] Who frustrates the signs of the babblers, And drives diviners mad; Who turns wise men backward, And makes their knowledge foolishness; [26] Who confirms the word of His servant, And performs the counsel of His messengers; Who says to Jerusalem, ‘You shall be inhabited,’ To the cities of Judah, ‘You shall be built,’ And I will raise up her waste places; [27] Who says to the deep, ‘Be dry! And I will dry up your rivers’;

God shows He is final authority in the 44th season.

Jeremiah 44:28 says, “Yet a small number who escape the sword shall return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah; and all the remnant of Judah, who have gone to the land of Egypt to dwell there, shall know whose words will stand, Mine or theirs”.

Ezekiel 44 indicates that God is the Decision Maker in the 44th season. In this chapter, He told Ezekiel how things should be done and what should not be done.

PRAYER POINTS FOR THE 44TH WEEK OF THE YEAR

1. O Lord , this week, deliver your people from the arrogance and wickedness of the powers that be; as you delivered Peter from the hand of Herod.

2. Let your people be unstoppable this week. Let fire keep burning on the prayer altar. Release innocent prisoners in the nations.

3. Let the people of God in in the nations enjoy the backing of the Holy Spirit. Let the nations witness the power of the Spirit working through God’s people as the Church did in the 44th book of the Bible.

4. O Lord, stop those who are working against your people and your purposes in the nations – religious fundamentalists, corrupt political leaders, greedy people in business.

5. O Lord, release your power to deliver nations from their imprisonment and captivity. Let ancient gates of wickedness stopping nations open in the name of Jesus.

6. O Lord, disgrace all who use sorcery to advance wicked causes in the nations.

There are 10 ‘P’s associated with the 44th week. They are

  1. Prayer: this is a season to receive help from God
  2. Praise
  3. Preaching
  4. Prophecy
  5. Power
  6. Partnership
  7. Persistence
  8. Persecution
  9. Purity
  10. Prison

I pray you will experience the positive ‘P’s this 44th week.

Happy 44th week!

THE 43RD WEEK OF THE YEAR (OCTOBER 22 – 28)

0

Welcome to the 43rd week of the year. This is the first week in the seventh seven weeks (43-49) of the year. It is the beginning of a seven-week season that expresses the book of Judges (the 7th book of the Bible). See Video

Every week has its visiting purposes. The Bible helps us to understand the different purposes seeking access through each gate of time. When God speaks light, it is for war against darkness coming in the season. When God speaks abundance, it is because of scarcity. When He speaks life, it is because of death; and when He speaks fruitfulness, it is because of barrenness. Our concern as Kingdom watchmen and gatekeepers is to cooperate with Heaven to keep the gate of this week open to God’s purposes.and to resist or refuse access to satanic purposes by prayer, decrees and decisions.

BIBLICAL PATTERNS FOR THE WEEK

There are five Biblical patterns for understanding the 43rd week:The first day of creation. This is because the 43rd week is the first week in the 7-week season beginning October 22. This is a first-day-of-creation week.

The Book of John – the 43rd book of the Bible. This is a Book-of-John week.

The 43rd chapters of the Bible (Genesis 43, Psalm 43, Isaiah 43, Jeremiah 43 and Ezekiel 43). The 43rd week is a 43rd chapters of the Bible week.

Judges 1-3. The 43rd week is a Judges 1-3 week.

The first 10 books of the Old Testament (Genesis – 2 Samuel)

B. BIBLE READING SUGGESTIONS FOR THE WEEK

Going through the 43rd week of the year is like taking a journey through the 43rd book of the Bible (John). It is also like walking through the five 43rd chapters of the Bible. So, the Book of John and the 43rd chapters of the Bible are great guiding lights for the week.

You may want to read the suggested passages as follows or as led by the Spirit of God:

October 22: John 1-3;

October 23: John 4-6.

October 24: Genesis 43; John 7-9.

October 25: Psalm 43; John 10-12.

October 26: Isaiah 43; John 13-15

October 27: Jeremiah 43; John 16-18.

October 28: Ezekiel 43; John 19-21.

SIX THOUGHTS AND PRAYER POINTS CONCERNING THE 43RD SEASON

The 43rd book and chapters of the Bible indicate, at least, 6 things concerning the 43rd season:

1. It is a season of materialization when the intangible becomes tangible and the invisible becomes visible. In the 43rd book of the Bible God becam man (the Word became flesh) and lived among men. Jesus became the Tabernacle of God in the midst of men. Through him, people could see and touch God. He said anyone who sees Him has seen the Father.

PRAYER: Pray for the materialization of the word of God in the nation and nations. Let what God is saying and doing (or not doing) become visible to all this week.

2. It is a season of seeing and believing. It is also a season of believing and seeing. In Genesis 43, Joseph did not want stories about Benjamin. He wanted to see him. This week, those who believe will see and those who see will believe. In the 43rd book, Jesus said, “Unless you see signs and wonders, you will not believe”. When Thomas heard that Jesus had risen from the dead, he said, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” Jesus permitted him to test and be convinced. In the NT, the word ‘see’ ‘seeing’, ‘seen’, or ‘sees’, appears in about 370 verses but in the book of John alone, it appears in about 71 verses. That is about 19.2%. The 43rd book of the Bible also says a lot about believing. This book is about believing. The word ‘believe’ is used in 226 verses of the New Testament (NKJV). 84 of those verses is in the book of John. That is about 37.2%. The heroes of the 43rd season are ‘the believers’ who lead others to see and believe. This week, you will see as you believe; and you will believe as you see.

The 43rd season is a season of signs and wonders. There are 14 signs and proofs in the 43rd book of the Bible. The 43rd season is a season of both believing and seeing and seeing and believing. It is a season to shut the mouths of doubters. It is a season to go from doubting to believing. In Isaiah 43, God said, “I will do a new thing”. This is a week of ACTION.

PRAYER: Pray that this will be a week of signs and wonders in the nations – to inspire faith and silence doubters and critics. Pray that the Lord will give you proofs to back up words. Pray you will not be a doubter (like Thomas) this week.

3. The 43rd week is a family-season. The first miracle in the 43rd book of the Bible happened at a wedding ceremony; and the healing miracles touched families (the Nobleman’s son, the helpless man at the Pool of Bethesda, Lazarus and his sisters, the blind man and his parents). In the 43rd book, Jesus was also preoccupied with the Father and His status as the Son. The Son could not do a thing without the Father and the Father also handed over all things to the Son. This is a week to work together as family. You see the same thing in the first 43rd chapter of the Bible. In Genesis 43 Jacob gave his sons the backing they needed to go to Egypt and buy food. He also sent the son of his right hand, Benjamin, to go with them. Without Benjamin, they would not have found favor in Egypt. In that chapter, also, Jacob’s 12 sons sat and ate together in the house of their brother. They had not experienced such togetherness in many years. Genesis 43 is about ‘father’, ‘mother’, ‘brother’, ‘house’, and ‘home’. It’s about family. The evil one attacks and harasses families in this season. Anything that causes death in this season (war, crime, fire disaster, earthquake, flood, terrorism, plane crash, etc) is an attack on family. Stand against it. Pray for hurting families in this season of 2023 Israel – Hamas war.

PRAYER: Pray that this is a week of joy (not sorrow and tears) for families. Pray comfort to hurting families. Pray, this week, that God will visit and touch families in a unique way. Speak blessings over families.

4. The 43rd season is about making claims and proving your claims. The 43rd week is a week of verification, validation and vindication; not a week of just words and stories. It is a week of action-proofs. It is a week of truth and witnesses. The 43rd book of the Bible, John, has no record of the voice speaking from heaven that Jesus is the son of God. In 43rd book of the Bible, Jesus performed miraculous signs to prove He is the Son of God so that men would believe Him. He said, “If I do not do the works…don’t believe”. Jesus proved His Son-ship by the works He did. The book is about telling who you are by what you do. In the book of John, The Jews asked John, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?” (John 1:25). They wanted to know Him by what he did – to match His work with His identity. This is a week to declare your identity (who you are) by your works. George W. Bush was the 43rd President of the United States. He proved himself the son of his father. He did and finished the work his father started. George H. W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States, declared war against Iraq to save the oil-rich Kuwait from annexation. His son, Bush 43, also fought Iraq in a vengeful battle against terrorism. He captured and imprisoned the President, Saddam Hussein in 2003. The foe died in 2006 in the season of Bush 43 the son of Bush 41. In the 43rd book of the Bible, Jesus told the Father, “I have finished the work you gave me to do”. This is a week of confirming words – God’s word, your words, and the words of others.

PRAYER: Pray Psalm 43 this week: “Vindicate me, O God, And plead my cause against an ungodly nation; Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man!” Pray the same for brethren who need vindication – especially those who are being persecuted. Pray that the Wisdom, power and love of your Father will be seen in your life.

5. It is a season of bold declarations and assertions. Be bold to declare your identity in God. Know who you are and declare it. Jesus made audacious “I am” declarations in the 43rd book of the Bible:

I am the Bread of Life
I am the Light of the world
I am He
I am the Door
I am the Good Shepherd
I am the Resurrection and the Life
I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life
I am the True Vine

John the Baptist and Jesus did not speak of their identity in the flesh in the 43rd book of the Bible. This week, stand strong on your (spiritual) identity in Christ. The 43rd season does not respect or respond to fleshly credentials. In Genesis 43, Joseph related officially with his brothers – not as the Joseph the knew. This is the week of those who know who they are.

PRAYER: Pray that the inner eyes of God’s people are opened to understand, and live by, their spiritual identity. Pray for grace to be loud and strong concerning your true identity in Christ. Pray for Israel and declare her identity in God as you pray.

6. This is a season of life, light and love from heaven. The 43rd book of the Bible is about the life, light and love of God. That immediately reveals what the evil one thinks in the 43rd season – the opposite of life, light and love. This is a week of conflicts between life and death, light and darkness, love and hate. Terrorists unleashed wickedness against the United States in the season of her 43rd President. Beginning of this week in 2005, 117 people perished in Nigeria in the October 22 Bellview Plane Crash. In 1943 (the 43rd year of the 20th century), lives were lost both through WW2 and the Holocaust. In the 43rd season, people face temptation to walk away from truth – from the life, light and love of God. Jeremiah 43 and the 43rd book of the Bible bear witness to this. John 3:19-21. God wants people to live and not die in this season. He wants them to have abundant life in this season but the evil one wants to steal, kill and destroy (John 10: 9-10).

PRAYER: This week, pray that life, light and love will tri inumph and prevail over death, darkness and hate. Pray that life will swallow death, that light will shine in darkness and that love will overcome hate. Pray against the rejection of truth, life, light and love in the nations this week.

7. This is a season of supernatural supplies. God is a Sustainer and Provider in this season. Genesis 43 opens with famine being very severe in the land. Jesus performed 3 miracles of provision in the 43rd book of the Bible (chapters 2, 6 and 21). God is set against scarcity in this season. Joseph and his brothers ate food together in Genesis 43.

8 This is a season of victory over fear. People have a tendency to surrender to fear in this season. It was for fear of Babylonians that Jews at Jerusalem rejected the Word of God through Jeremiah and went to Egypt for refuge. In the 43rd of the Bible, Jesus told His disciples to damn fears: John 14:1 says, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me”. John 16:33 says, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Walking in the consciousness of divine presence keeps fear away in this season.

Isaiah 43:1-2, 5-6 – “But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you”. [5] Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your descendants from the east, And gather you from the west; [6] I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’ Bring My sons from afar, And My daughters from the ends of the earth”.

THE 42ND WEEK OF THE YEAR (OCTOBER 15 – 21)

0

The 42nd week of the year is the 7th (Sabbath) week ending the sixth seven weeks of the year. As a 7th season week, it is for bringing people into rest. The 42nd season is a time to turn situations around through prayer, prophetic decrees and the release of the Power of God.

BIBLICAL PATTERNS FOR THE WEEK

There are five Biblical patterns for understanding the 42nd week:

1. The 7th day of creation. This is because the 42nd week is the 7th week in the 7-week season that began September 3. This is a seventh-day-of-creation week.

2. The Book of Luke – the 42nd book of the Bible. This is a Book-of-Luke week.

The 42nd chapters of the Bible (Genesis 42, Job 42, Psalm 42, Isaiah 42, Jeremiah 42 and Ezekiel 42).

The 7th section chapters (22-24) of the sixth book of the Bible (Joshua). This is a Joshua 22-24 week – time to be up in the spirit.

The third and last 9 books of the New Year (Hebrews – Revelation)

B. BIBLE READING SUGGESTIONS FOR THE WEEK

Going through the 42nd week of the year is like taking a journey through the 42nd book of the Bible (Luke). It is also like walking through the six 42nd chapters of the Bible. So, the Book of Luke and the 42nd chapters of the Bible are great guiding lights for the week.

You may want to read the suggested passages as follows but also be free to follow the leading of the Spirit of God:

October 15: Luke 1-4.

October 16: Genesis 42; Luke 5-8.

October 17: Job 42; Luke 9-12.

October 18: Psalm 42; Luke 13-15.

October 19: Isaiah 42; Luke 16-18

October 20: Jeremiah 42; Luke 19-21.

October 21: Ezekiel 42; Luke 22-24.

WORD FOR THE WEEK

Isaiah 42:14-16: “I have held My peace a long time, I have been still and restrained Myself. Now I will cry like a woman in labor, I will pant and gasp at once. I will lay waste the mountains and hills, And dry up all their vegetation; I will make the rivers coastlands, And I will dry up the pools. I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them”.

THOUGHTS AND PRAYER POINTS FOR THE WEEK

What can we glean from the Bible concerning the 42nd season? Five major things:

  1. 1. It is an end-point to WAITING:

a). WAITING FOR PRAYERS TO BE ANSWERED

In the 42nd book of the Bible, Zechariah received answers to his prayers. Simeon and Anna, with others who waited for the redemption of Israel, also saw the answer to their prayers in the same book. The 42nd season is the waiters’ season of joy.

b). WAITING FOR PROMISES AND PROPHECIES TO BE FULFILLED

In the 42nd book of the Bible, a virgin conceived and gave birth to fulfill Isaiah’s prophecy. In Luke 24, Jesus spoke of sending the Holy Spirit – the Promise of the Father. In Luke 4, Jesus said He is the fulfillment of Isaiah 61. The 42nd season is a special time to see Isaiah 61 fulfilled

c). WAITING FOR DREAMS TO COME TRUE

Joseph’s dreams came to pass in Genesis 42. Joseph remembered his prophetic dreams when he saw his brothers bow to him as they came to buy grain in Egypt. He saw his dreams fulfilled. His brothers fulfilled the dream they sought to destroy. This is a season when impossible dreams and promises become reality.

d). WAITING FOR AFFLICTIONS AND TRIALS TO END

Job’s troubles ended in the 42nd chapter of Job. In Job 42, God turned the captivity of Job around and gave him double blessings for his losses. In the days of Elijah, the judgmental drought ended in the 42nd month. Revelation 11:2 says the gentiles “will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months”. They will not go beyond the 42nd month. Revelation 13:5 says the beast “was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months”. He will not be allowed to go beyond the 42nd month. The 42nd seasons is an endpoint to trials.

2. It is a season to test patience and perseverance in prayer. The 42nd season is a time to pray and receive answers. However, the kind of prayer that works in this season is persevering prayer. People are tempted to give up praying in this season because it looks like it’s not producing any result. That is the reason the 42nd book of Bible tells us about those who waited in the place of prayer and about tarrying to receive power from on high. The first chapter of Luke tells us about Zechariah and Elizabeth. Luke 11 and 18 teaches importunity in prayer. Sweat dropped from Jesus like drops of blood as He prayed in Luke 22. This is time to pant for God’s visitation as the deer pants for the water brooks (Psalm 42).

3. It is time to birth dreams and expectations through prayer. This is a week to battle weariness and resistance to breakthrough as we pray to birth change. This week the kingdom of darkness will battle to resist prayers, fulfillment of prophecies and answers to prayers – and it may seem that heaven is shut against our prayers. This week, as we pray, we shall be shutting the gate of the week against things that will hinder answers to prayer and the delivery of God’s promises in our lives and nations. We should not give access and room to weariness, discouragement, unbelief, prayer-lessness, and sin.

4. It is a time to get results and change situations by the power of the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 42:1 says, “Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. The 42nd book of the Bible attests that the Holy Spirit is behind all God-results. When Mary wanted to know how she would conceive a child, in Luke 1, the angel told her the Holy Spirit would come upon her. “For with God nothing shall be impossible. In Luke 4, Jesus did exploits in Galilee when He returned from the wilderness in the power of the Spirit. In Luke 24, Jesus commanded His disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they are endued with power from above.

5. This is a week of possibilities. Things that are considered impossible happen in this season. The 42nd book of the Bible opens with two ‘impossible’ stories of miraculous conceptions: the first is about an old barren woman that got pregnant and the second is about a virgin that conceived without a man. The 42nd week is a week of miracles. Luke 1:37 says, “For with God nothing will be impossible.” Luke 18:27 says, “…The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” Job 42:1-2 says, “Then Job answered the LORD and said: “I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You”. This is a season to show that God can do everything!

6. This is a season of restoration. In Job 42, God gave Job everything he had lost, health, wealth and children. He was adequately compensated.

HOW TO LIVE IN THIS SEASON

This week, following the pattern in God’s Holy Word, I will ask you to do the following:

1. Persevere in the place of prayer. Jesus taught importunity in prayer in the 42nd book of the Bible. Job was restored in the 42nd chapter of the 18th book of the Bible after he prayed for his friends. Pray for deliverances.

2. Believe and expect the impossible to be made possible for you. This week is for the release of great faith. In the 42nd book of the Bible, the centurion, the Syrophoenician woman, and Jairus exercised great faith. The fulfillment of Joseph’s dream in Genesis 42 was an impossible thing made possible. The restoration of Job’s health, wealth, and family, was an impossible thing made possible.

3. Expect vindication. Expect the fulfillment of prophecies and promises. The 42nd season is the end of waiting and the time for the confirmation of God’s word. God vindicated Joseph in Genesis 42 and vindicated Job in Job 42.

4. Expect strange good messengers of God with strange good news of answers to prayers. Expect positive visitations. Expect strange callers with good news. Expect a great turnaround.

PRAYER POINTS FOR THE 42ND WEEK:

Pray for grace and increased strength to pray and not faint this week (Luke 11, 18, 22).

Pray for the release of answers to those waiting in prayer and fasting for change. Decree supernatural turnarounds, with tangible testimonies of answers to prayer.

Pray to activate the fulfillment of prophetic words as it happened to Joseph in Genesis 42, for Zechariah, Mary, Simeon and Anna in the 42nd book of the Bible.

Pray for the end of troubles for those whose afflictions have have seen the 42nd day, the 42nd week, the 42nd month, and the 42nd year.

Pray to be endued with the power of the Holy Spirit for the tasks and operations of this week. Pray for the move of the Holy Spirit in the nations this week.

Have a happy 42nd week of the year!
