0

Welcome to a new day

FIVE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE DAY

Today Is

1. May 26 (Clear year); May 25 (Leap year).

2. The sixth Day of the 21st Week (May 21-27 – in a Clear year/ May 20-26 in a Leap year)

3. The 48th Day in Third 7 Weeks of the year. (April 9-May 27)

4. The 146th day of the year (from January 1). In this post, this day will be called Day 146.

5. A sixth-season day because it is the sixth day of the 21st week of the year.

FIVE BIBLICAL PATTERNS FOR THE DAY

There are five basic biblical patterns for this day:

1. The sixth day of creation (Genesis 1:24-31)

2. Psalm 146

3. Ecclesiastes 11

4. The 48th book of the Bible (Galatians)

5. The second 9 books of the New Testament.

1. Day 146 is a sixth day of creation season in 21st week. On the sixth day, God made man in His image and likeness, blessed man, gave him instructions regarding provisions, and a mandate to live by. God never communicated with any other creature after He made them. So, God intends that man, in this season, should live by listening to, and observing,  His word. The sixth day of creation teaches us that man and animal are God’s creation; and that God is good to man and all land animals. Every sixth season, God remembers the earth, man, and animals. It is the season of the earth and its hosts before God. Every sixth season should be God-remembrance day on earth. Day 146 is God-remembrance season for man. Today, let us turn our attention to the Maker and the Sustainer of heaven and earth. This is a day of focusing on what God says, on what He wants done, and how He wants it done. We cannot focus on God’s word without focusing on Him. Focusing on God results in praising God. Praising God is an overflow from a heart concentrating on God and saturated (overwhelmed) with His presence. The sixth day of the week is also a day to celebrate God’s grace to man. Man was created last but was made head over other living creatures. Man is an heir of grace.

2. Day 146 is Ephesians – Philemon day in the 21st week. The second 9 books of the New Testament is applicable to the second day in the New Testament side of the 21st week. Every week is like a journey through the Bible; and has an Old Testament side and a New Testament side. The first four days of the week is the Old Testament side and the remaining three days is the New Testament side. The sixth day of the week is the second day on the New Testament side; and expresses the second 9 books of the New Testament. They are books of instruction. The pastoral epistles of Paul by which he guided his proteges belong to this section of the Bible. They indicate that Day 146 is a day to win battles through divine instruction. It is a day to be specially guided by God.

3. Day 146 is a Book of Galatians day in the third 49 days of the year. Galatians is the 48th book of the Bible; and is applicable to the 48th day in the third 49 days. The book of Galatians is about blessings through God’s sovereign grace and faith; and indicates that this day is a day of grace. The author of the epistle, Paul, was sovereignly chosen and called by God. This also agrees with Genesis 48 where Jacob blessed the sons of Joseph as if there were his sons and not grandchildren. Jacob himself knew what grace had done in his own life. Today, get ready to receive more good than you deserve. Today, prepare to be gracious to someone.

4. Day 146 is a Psalm 146 season. This psalm calls attention to praising God, trusting Him, and remembering His attributes and works.

PRAISE GOD

Four times, in the first two verses, the psalmist speaks of praising God. He calls himself to God and makes a quality decision to praise God all his life. The sixth day of 21st week is for praising God. It is for concentrating on God.

Psalm 146:1-2 says, “Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul! [2] While I live I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being”.

DO NOT TRUST IN MAN

Man was created on the sixth day. He is a sixth season creature; but Man is the center of the sixth season. God is! Man does not own the sixth season; God does. So, rebellion against God, in the sixth, is a grave error; because it is an attempt to put man on God’s throne. Always remember, in the sixth season, that God is the Creator; and man is His creation. Man is creature!

Psalm 146:3-4 says, “Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help. [4] His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish”.

The third and fourth verses say four things about man:

1. There is no help in man

2. His spirit departs

3. He returns to HIS earth

4. His thoughts are perishable

TRUST THE CREATOR

Psalm 146:5-10 says, “Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD his God, [6] Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever, [7] Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The LORD gives freedom to the prisoners. [8] The LORD opens the eyes of the blind; The LORD raises those who are bowed down; The LORD loves the righteous. [9] The LORD watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked He turns upside down. [10] The LORD shall reign forever- Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD!”

The last six verses of the 146th psalm says twelve things about God:

1. He made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them;

2. He keeps truth forever,

3. He executes justice for the oppressed,

4. He gives food to the hungry.

5. He gives freedom to the prisoners.

6. The LORD opens the eyes of the blind;

7. The LORD raises those who are bowed down;

8. The LORD loves the righteous.

9. The LORD watches over the strangers;

10. He relieves the fatherless and widow;

11. He turns the way of the wicked upside down.

12. The LORD shall reign forever – Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD!”

Today, turn your eyes away from man and focus on the Creator.  “Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD his God”.

5. Day 146 is Ecclesiastes 11 day in the 21st week. The sixth section of the 21st book of the Bible is applicable to the sixth day of the 21st week. This chapter is a call to be diligent and walk by faith. Day 146 is a day to work hard with hope. It is not a time to make excuses or be lazy.

DECREE AND DECLARE: God made us in His image and likeness to rule, have dominion, and impose His will on seasons; as He did with the seven days of creation. He decreed what He wanted for each day. We are to decree what is revealed concerning each day. Today, decree the downfall of the wicked and the lifting and establishment of the just. Today, prophesy and declare war against the enemies of God. Today, prophesy restoration and blessing on God’s people because of the finished work; and prophesy against ungodliness. Today, show that your primary allegiance is to the God of Israel. You are made in the image and likeness of God. This is a day to commemorate and relive the creation of man in the image and likeness of God. Today, make your way back to the Lord. Even if you are not a backslider, you can still get closer to the goal of expressing the Lord – as His image and likeness. Today, stand out for God as His representative and look into your life, and look around, for things and areas that need to be conformed to God’s standards. Today, pray that the kingdom comes, by the word of God, to establish God’s will in your life, family, church, community, nation; and in the nations of the world. Today, and in this season, stand in the gap for man against disasters that come to waste his life and make it vain. Call upon God to remember the earth and the man He made in His image and likeness. Call upon the sons of men to remember their state and look to God.

Happy 146th day and season!

On this day, in 2020, George Floyd, a 46 year old African-American man, suspected of handing off a counterfeit $20 bill, was killed by a white police officer that knelt on his neck for about 9 minutes; while he was hand-cuffed and lying face-down on a street floor. His death at the hands of Minneapolis Police stirred up Pro-Blacks protests across the United States and the world.

Day 146 is May 25 in a Leap year but May 26 in a Clear year. 2020 was a leap year.
