Welcome to the second day of the first week of the year. The Bible patterns for understanding the second day of the year are 1) the second day of creation narrative; 2) the second book of the Bible; and 3) the second chapters of the books of the Bible.
Day 2 is a second-day-of-creation day. On the second day of creation, God made way where there is no way by creating the firmament (space). Space gives freedom. You cannot have freedom without space. After you have given the first day back to God, the second day is for making room for yourself and other things. As you gave the first day of the year to God, God will begin to make room for you from the second day. As the second season is for breaking barriers to freedom, God will take away the barriers to freedom in the year.
Day 2 is a book of Exodus day. Exodus is the second book of the applicable to the second day, second week, or second seven weeks, second year, second seven years, second 49 years, or second century. In the book of Exodus, God delivered Israel from bondage. He gave them space to evolve, grow, and develop as a nation. Bondage seizes or takes away your space but freedom gives or restores space. Today is a day to seek space for yourself and your things; and for others and their things. Make it a day of prayer and intercessors. Make it a day of seeking, receiving, or giving help.
Day 2 is a second-chapters-of-the-Bible day. It is the season of help and helpers. The second chapters of the Bible reveal this. In Genesis 2, God helped man by giving work to exercise himself in, by giving him instructions that would preserve his life, and by giving him a suitable helper in a wife – the one that has what he does not have and will complete him. Women are great helpers in the second season. They are key players in the second seven books of the Bible, an in the second book and chapters of the Bible. In Acts 2, God sent the Helper (the Holy Spirit) to the church to empower her to be a living witness for Jesus.
Day 2 is a First Kings – to – Proverbs Day in the first week of the year. Going through any week is like taking a journey through the Bible. Every week has an Old Testament side and a New Testament side. The first four days of the week belong to the Old Testament side and express the 39 books of the Old Testament. The remaining three days of the week constitute the New Testament side and express the 27 books of the New Testament. The second day of the week is the second day in the Old Testament side of the week; and expresses the second 10 books of the Old Testament and the Bible. In the second 10 books of the Bible, God wanted the kings of Israel to trust Him and lead the nation in the same direction. Beginning with Solomon, the kings of Israel began to patronize Idols. Idol worship became official in the northern kingdom following the split. Judah followed. Prophets rose in this season to call the nation back to God. Eventually, the two kingdoms went into captivity – the north fell to Assyria; and the south to the Babylonians. The Jews did return from captivity after 70 years. The last two books in this section of the Bible (Psalms and Proverbs) show that loss of faith in God is prelude to the loss of all things in the second season; but faith in God is the secret of power and strength. The faithful will triumph in the second season by the power and wisdom of God no matter what happens.
DECREE AND DECLARE: God made us in His image and likeness to rule, have dominion, and impose His will on seasons; as He did with the seven days of creation. He decreed what He wanted for each day. We are to decree what is revealed concerning each day. Today, declare that your faith will not fail; and that the faithful will triumph. Decree the downfall of those who disregard God and trust in themselves or idols, Today, prophesy against evil controlling powers and overthrow them by the word of the Lord. Mercy makes a way where there is no way. Today is a day of divine intervention and mercy. Today, release the word of the Lord against oppressive mountains in your life and in your world. Raise a cry to God against the proud and wicked in the land. Today, trust God to make a way where there is no way. Today, position yourself to receive help from both God and men; and to be a helper. Happy second day of the year. Proclaim His word, Pray to Him. Praise Him!
