Day 121: The Mystery of May 1

0

Welcome to the 121st day of the year! Day 121 is the second day of the eighteenth week; or the second day of the fourth week in the third 49 days; or the 23rd day in the third 49 days. It is a second-season day. Day 121 is May 1 in a clear year; and April 30 in a leap year. The key Bible patterns for understanding this day are the second day of creation narrative, the 121st psalm, and the second six chapters (7-12) of the eighteenth book of the Bible.

Day 121 is a second day of creation day in the 18th week. The second day is for helping and making a way where there is no way. On the second day, God released the firmament to divide the impassable block of waters. The second season is a time of war against barriers. It is a time to get help from God – especially through prayers. The help God gives in the second season thwarts monopolies, breaks controlling powers, and gives breathing space.

Day 121 is a Job 7-12 day in the 18th week. In this passage, The Second six chapters of the 18th book of the Bible are applicable to the third day of the eighteenth week of the year. In this section of the book of Job, Bildad and Zophar attacked Job for his utterances. He answered back; and in the twelfth chapter, paints a great picture of God as Barrier-breaker. Job 12:13-25 says, “With Him are wisdom and strength, He has counsel and understanding. [14] If He breaks a thing down, it cannot be rebuilt; If He imprisons a man, there can be no release. [15] If He withholds the waters, they dry up; If He sends them out, they overwhelm the earth. [16] With Him are strength and prudence. The deceived and the deceiver are His. [17] He leads counselors away plundered, And makes fools of the judges. [18] He loosens the bonds of kings, And binds their waist with a belt. [19] He leads princes away plundered, And overthrows the mighty. [20] He deprives the trusted ones of speech, And takes away the discernment of the elders. [21] He pours contempt on princes, And disarms the mighty. [22] He uncovers deep things out of darkness, And brings the shadow of death to light. [23] He makes nations great, and destroys them; He enlarges nations, and guides them. [24] He takes away the understanding of the chiefs of the people of the earth, And makes them wander in a pathless wilderness. [25] They grope in the dark without light, And He makes them stagger like a drunken man”.

Day 121 is a book of Isaiah day in the third 49 days of the year. The 23rd book of the Bible is applicable to the 23rd day in the third 49 days. Isaiah was a prophetic helper to kings of Judah – especially Hezekiah. His prophetic ministry helped the king against Sennacherib. Day 121 is a day of supernatural help to make way where there’s no way.

Day 121 is First Kings – Proverbs day in the 18th week. Going through any week is like taking a journey through the Bible. Every week has an Old Testament side and a New Testament side. The first four days of the week belong to the Old Testament side and express the 39 books of the Old Testament. The remaining three days of the week constitute the New Testament side and express the 27 books of the New Testament. The second day of the week is the second day in the Old Testament side of the week; and expresses the second 10 books of the Old Testament and the Bible. In the second 10 books of the Bible, God wanted the kings of Israel to trust Him and lead the nation in the same direction. Beginning with Solomon, the kings of Israel began to patronize Idols. Idol worship became official in the northern kingdom following the split. Judah followed. Prophets rose in this season to call the nation back to God. Eventually, the two kingdoms went into captivity – the north fell to Assyria; and the south to the Babylonians. The Jews did return from captivity after 70 years. The last two books in this section of the Bible (Psalms and Proverbs) show that loss of faith in God is prelude to the loss of all things in the second season; but faith in God is the secret of power and strength. The faithful will triumph in the second season by the power and wisdom of God no matter what happens.

Day 121 is a Psalm 121 day. This psalm is an affirmation of faith in God as Helper, Keeper, and Preserver. Preservation is a great need in the eighteenth season.

Psalm 121:1-2 says, “ I will lift up my eyes to the hills- From whence comes my help? [2] My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.

Help comes God in the second season. Psalm 121:3-8 discloses the consequences of having God as Helper:

1. [3] He will not allow your foot to be moved;

2. He who keeps you will not slumber. [4] Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. [5] The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your right hand.

3. [6] The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night.

4. [7] The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.

5. [8] The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.

Today, affirm your faith in God as your Source of help, as your Keeper, and Preserver.

Personalize the psalm in this way:

“MY help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow MY foot to be moved; He who keeps ME will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps ME shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is MY keeper; The LORD is MY shade at MY right hand. The sun shall not strike ME by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve ME from all evil; He shall preserve MY soul. The LORD shall preserve MY going out and MY coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore”. Amen!!!

DECREE AND DECLARE: God made us in His image and likeness to rule, have dominion, and impose His will on seasons; as He did with the seven days of creation. He decreed what He wanted for each day. We are to decree what is revealed concerning each day. Today, declare that your faith will not fail; and that the faithful will triumph. Decree the downfall of those who disregard God and trust in themselves or idols, Today, prophesy against evil controlling powers and overthrow them by the word of the Lord. Mercy makes a way where there is no way. Today is a day of divine intervention and mercy. Today, release the word of the Lord against oppressive mountains in your life and in your world. Raise a cry to God against the proud and wicked in the land. Today, trust God to make a way where there is no way. Proclaim His word, Pray to Him. Praise Him!

This day in 2022, a 3-story building collapsed in Ebute-meta, Lagos, Nigeria, killing at least 8 people and injuring about 23 others.
