NIGERIA: PRAYING INTO THE WEEK OF MARCH 26 – APRIL 1 (THE 13TH WEEK OF THE YEAR AND THE 26TH WEEK OF NIGERIA’S YEAR)

A. PROLOGUE

THE 13TH WEEK OF THE YEAR

The 13th book and chapters of the Bible reveal four major things concerning the 13th season:

1. The 13th season is a season of separation. It is a season of divisions when people and things are put where they belong. The division of Bible narratives by chapter numbers took place in early 13th century. The adversary pushes for unholy mixtures and alliances in this season. Lot separated from Abraham in Genesis 13. Abraham returned from Egypt in Genesis 13 but also returned with Hagar – the Egyptian slave girl.Israel moved from Egypt in Exodus 13 and God commanded all firstborn be consecrated to Him. Leviticus 13 is about the separation of the (unclean) leper. The priests (consecrated men) examine the lepers. In Numbers 13, Joshua and Caleb stood out from the rest of the 12 spies.Deuteronomy 13 is about how Israelites should deal with those who will tempt them to step out of their consecration to serve other gods.In Judges 13, Samson’s mother was to consecrated herself to conceive and give birth to a Nazirite. In First Samuel 13, Kings offered a sacrifice he was not consecrated for and was rejected from being king. In First Kings 13, the man of God from Judah violated his consecration and died for it.In First Chronicles 13, the Ark of God was conveyed on a cart instead of being carried by consecrated men. Uzzah died from the error. In Second Chronicles 13, Judah defeated Israel in battle because Israel under Jeroboam had lost consecration before God.In Nehemiah 13, the Jews were called to separate from mixed marriages and unholy alliances. In Revelation 13, the beast marked his own people with 666. The mark of the beast distinguished between men and men.In the 13th seven years of the United States, slaves were separated from their masters by the 13th Amendment and the Emancipation Proclamation. This 13th week, Heaven will separate men from men, from places, and from tasks.

2. The 13th season is a season of love in which the adversary seeks to promote pseudo (counterfeit) love, spread hate, and perpetrate wickedness. The love-chapters of the Bible are the 13th chapters: In Genesis 13, eschewed quarelling with Lot because “we are brethren”.In John 13, Jesus commanded his disciples to love one another. Romans 13 says Love is the fulfilling of the law.First Corinthians 13 says Love is greater than faith and hope.Hebrews 13 says, “let brotherly love continue”.The enemy works wickedness in the 13th season. In Second Samuel 13, one of David’s sons raped David’s daughter, Tamar (Absalom’s sister) in the name of ‘love’. Absalom killed him for it. That was hate in a chapter of love! Psalm 13 is a prayer of deliverance from enemies and troubles. The humble need God’s mercy in the 13th season because of the wickedness of the wicked.

3. The thirteenth season is when Heaven focuses on taking and giving lands. The strife between the Herdsmen of Abraham and and the Herdsmen of Lot was over insufficient land. In Genesis 13, “…The LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are-northward, southward, eastward, and westward; [15] for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever. [16] And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. [17] Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.” [18] Then Abram moved his tent, and went and dwelt by the terebinth trees of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built an altar there to the LORD”. In Numbers 13, Moses sent 12 spies to view the land of Canaan and bring back report. In Joshua 13, God told Joshua to survey land for allocation to the tribes. In this chapter, Israelites began to receive and possess their possessions.Isaiah 13 is about the desolation of Babylon. Their land was given to the Medes.Matthew 13 is about parables concerning land and things done in it. Luke 13 also has land parables. In Acts 13, God released Paul and Barnabas for their missionary work in foreign lands. Saul became Paul in this chapter. Believers were first called Christians here. Paul judged Bar-Jesus (Elymas) in this chapter. The 13th season is a season of taking lands for God.

4. It is a season of judgment against wickedness. The 13th chapters of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Zechariah are about judgments. The 13th chapters of Mark and Luke are also about judgments.Since the 13th season is a season of consecration to God, the god of this world wants it to be a season of committing sacrilege and forming unholy mixtures on earth. Think of 2013 and LGBTQ breakthroughs. Since God wants the 13th season to be a season of love, the enemy wants it to be a season of pseudo love, hate, and wickedness. Judas Iscariot became betrayer ofJesus in John 13. Since, God made the 13th season to be a season of receiving inheritance, the enemy wants it to be a season of strong resistance to entering, possessing, or enjoying, your inheritance. He fights with terrorism and persecutions to scare people from lands.

THE 26TH WEEK OF NIGERIA’S YEAR

Going through the 26th week of the year is like living in the 26th book and chapters of the Bible for a week. The 26th book and chapters of the Bible reveal the following about the 26th season:

It is a season to be preoccupied with the glory and majesty of God. This season does not tolerate human arrogance. In the 26th book of the Bible, God calls the prophet “son of man”. In this season, God wants men to know they are men and to acknowledge Him as Lord. King Uzziah suffered and died because of pride in Second Chronicles 26. In Ezekiel 26, the prophet pronounced judgment on Tyre because of pride and haughtiness. Isaiah 26 is about the judgment and punishment of the wicked and rebellious.

It is a time to spare lives but the enemy wants it to be a time of bloodshed. David spared the life of King Saul in First Samuel 26. Jeremiah 26 is about the Prophet’s deliverance from death. Mamman Vatsa and 12 others were executed in the 26th year of our country (March 5, 1986) for alleged treason. In Numbers 26, by the time of the second census, adults who were counted in the first census had died except Moses, Caleb, and Joshua.

It is a season of abundant prosperity which the enemy wants to turn into a time of scarcity. It is a season of fruitfulness which the enemy seeks to make a time of barrenness. It is a season of blessings which the enemy wants to turn into a time of curses. God prospered Isaac in Genesis 26.

It is a season of justice which the evil one pours out injustice. Isaac faced injustice in Genesis 26. Jesus faced trial in Matthew 26. Paul faced trial in Acts 26. Psalm 26 is a cry to God for vindication. The 26th season is a time of blessings, which the enemy wants to make a season of curses (Leviticus 26, Deuteronomy 26).

The Mystery of The Week of 9/11

0

On Tuesday, September 11, 2001, terrorists bombed and destroyed the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York with a hijacked plane. Over 2000 lives were lost. The world mourned because many countries were affected. This happened in the 37th week of the year. Things do not just happen. They happen in their appointed times and seasons. What does the 37th week have to do with the 9/11 kind of misfortune?

Disasters are common in the 37th season. 1937 was a year of notable disasters. Ohio River flood of 1937 that happened between January-February left a million people homeless and 385 people dead. On March 18, 1937, in New London School, Texas, a natural gas explosion killed over of 295 students and teachers. This is the worst school disaster in American history in terms of lives lost. On May 6, 1937, the Hindenburg disaster occurred. A German airship burst into flame when mooring to a mast in Lakehurst, New Jersey. 36 people died. On May 30, the Chicago Police Department shot and killed 10 unarmed demonstrators in the 1937 Memorial Day Massacre. On July 28, George VI escaped assassination by Irish Republican Army. On September 2, the Great Hon Kong Typhoon killed about 11, 000 persons. On October 2-8, President of Dominican Republic, Rafael Trujillo, ordered Dominican troops to kill thousands of Haitians living in Dominican Republic in what is now called the Parsley Massacre. On November 11, the Kogushi Sulphur Mine collapsed in western Gunma, Japan, and killed at least 245 people. The 37th President of the United States, Richard Nixon, was caught up in a coverup scandal that led to his unprecedented resignation. Charles Colson, founder of the Prison Fellowship International emerged from that saga to become a major house of a God. In the 37th year of the United States, on January 23 1813, the River Basin Massacre took place, in which 30-60 captured American soldiers were executed by Native in Michigan. In the 37th year of Nigeria (October 2, 1996 – October 1, 1997), there were at least 8 bomb explosions targeting citizens in different parts of the country.

There are four kinds of disasters that come in the 37th season:

1. Disasters that come to facilitate people’s journey to destiny. In Genesis 37, there was disaster in the House of Jacob. Joseph went out to see to the welfare of his brothers – in obedience to his father, Jacob. He never returned. He was to be killed by his brothers but God intervened and scattered their plans. They rather stripped him of his clothes, sold him to strangers as slave; dipped his clothes in animal blood ,and lied to their father that a wild beast had destroyed him. That was a heaven-sent transport to his royal destiny; and they couldn’t cover the scandal. The Watergate scandal happened in the season of the 37th president of the United States, Richard Nixon. The president resigned. Chuck Colson was among those indicted in Watergate-related crime. He spent seven months in jail, encountered God there, and became founder of Prison Fellowship International operating in over 150 countries today. God used that 37th season mess to give him a message and a ministry. God uses disasters, in the 37th season, to advance his purpose.

2. Disasters that come to test your knowledge of God and your confidence in Him; and to reveal God’s sovereignty and power. In Isaiah 37, Sennacherib, king of Assyria, threatened to overrun Judah and to sack her king, Hezekiah. The king of Judah cried out to Isaiah, the prophet, and to the Lord. The Lord of heaven and earth and sea assured him that the cause of Sennacherib would not prosper. True to His Word, the Lord defended the city and stoped the king of Assyria from invading or entering Judah. He heard rumors of an invasion of his country, returned home, and was murdered by his own children.

3. Disasters that come to wake God’s people from slumber. Haggai is the 37th book of the Bible. In that book, God’s people suffered terrible disasters. When they sought God concerning it, the Lord said He made it happen to awaken the people to their responsibility of rebuilding the temple. Haggai 1:9-11 says, “You looked for much, but indeed it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?” says the LORD of hosts. “Because of My house that is in ruins, while every one of you runs to his own house. Therefore the heavens above you withhold the dew, and the earth withholds its fruit. For I called for a drought on the land and the mountains, on the grain and the new wine and the oil, on whatever the ground brings forth, on men and livestock, and on all the labor of your hands.” Haggai 2:17 says, “I struck you with blight and mildew and hail in all the labors of your hands; yet you did not turn to Me,’ says the LORD”. On Tuesday, September 11, the second day of the 37th week of 2001 (a core second-season day), terrorist hijackers plane-crashed into the twin towers of the World Trade Center and destroyed it. Many lives were lost. That was the work of evil men; but I also believe it was a wake-up call to the United States.

4. Disasters that glorify God by showing His power, not to stop what could happen but, to undo what had been done. In Ezekiel 37, the prophet was transported, in a vision, to a valley of dry bones scattered all over the place.. God told him to speak life into the dry bones. He did. The bones came together, received flesh and breath, and became a mighty army.  It was in the 37th year of Joash king of Judah that a dead man’s body thrown into Elisha’s tomb revived. It was in the 37th year of the captivity of Jehoiachin, king of Judah, that Evil-Merodach became king of Babylon and released him from prison. The 37th season is for undoing what the enemy had done.

The 37th chapters of the Bible reveal that the enemy wants to see people dead in the 37th season; but God intervenes to save life in the same season. He gives the wicked for a ransom for the wicked. Genesis 37:18 says, “…even before he came near them, they conspired against him to KILL him”. Psalm 37:32 says, “The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to SLAY him”. Isaiah 37:36 says, “Then the angel of the LORD went out, and KILLED in the camp of the Assyrians…and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses-all dead. Isaiah 37:38 says,  “…it came to pass, as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, that his sons… STRUCK HIM DOWN WITH SWORD…” Ezekiel 37:9 says, “…breathe on these SLAIN that they may live.”

This 37th week, put your confidence in God. Pray and speak the word. Wickedness and the wicked will not triumph over you. Whatever slays men in the 37th season will not succeed in your life! There were three attempts to assassinate the 37th President of the United States (April 1972, May 1972, and February 1974) but all failed. This week I decree in the name of Jesus, that wherever sunlight touches and moonlight reaches, evil and wickedness shall not triumph. Heaven has overruled the conspiracy of ‘the darkness’ and ‘the waters’ against the plans and purposes of God. The situation may seem hopeless but God will turn it around for His glory and for the good of His people. Psalm 37 guarantees that God will not leave His own to the desire of the evil one. This gives us hope that evil and wickedness will not triumph in the 37th season and especially this 37th week of the year. Happy 37th week!

PRAYING INTO THE 38TH WEEK OF THE YEAR (SEPTEMBER 17-23)

0

The 38th week is a turning-point week in the year; as the book of Zechariah (the 38th book of the Bible) meant to the Jews returning from captivity.

How should we live and pray in this 38th week? What’s in the heart of God for the 38th week? Here are 8 things the Bible indicates concerning the 38th season:

1. It is a season of gracious intervention against death. God intervened to reverse the pronouncement of death against Hezekiah in Isaiah 38. He also intervened in the family of Judah (Genesis 38); He intervened through Ebed-melech to save Jeremiah’s life (Jeremiah 38); and intervened for His people against Gog (Ezekiel 38). God saved the 38th President of the United States from death in the 38th week of 1975 (September 22). He had escaped assassination earlier the same month.

It is a season of desperate cry for mercy from God. Psalm 38: 1-22 is a cry for mercy. It will be good to read the entire chapter. Mercy bypassed death and helped Judah and his family in Genesis 38. Mercy delivered Hezekiah from death in Isaiah 38. Mercy saved Joshua the High Priest in the third chapter of the 38th book of the Bible. Mercy saved the 38th President of the United States (Gerald Ford) from two assassination attempts in September 1975. Mercy saved Nigerians from the Abacha regime in the 38th year of the nation (1998) when the killer-Head of State died suddenly.

It is a season when men and powers who are like towering Cedars and Oaks may fall (Zechariah 11: 1-2). Archbishop Benson Idahosa of Nigeria, a vibrant minister of the gospel died suddenly in the 38th year of Nigeria. The Head of State, General Sami Abacha died suddenly the same year.

It is a season of revelation. It is a time learn and receive knowledge from Heaven. It is a season to uncover things covered up. God teaches in the 38th season. He took over to question His servant in Job 38. He taught Zechariah the prophet in the 38th book of the Bible.

It is a season of recovery and vengeance when God rises against those who rise up against his people (Ezekiel 38; Zechariah 1:21).

It is a season of construction and reconstruction in the House of God. The Tabernacle was in the making in Exodus 38.

It is a season of divine visitation. God began the restoration of His servant Job in the 38th chapter of the. Book of Job. The servant of God did not hear the Voice of God until the 38th chapter.

It is a season of battle to dethrone self because it seeks to get in the way of God’s purpose in this season. The Bible mentions two self-centered people who emerged kings in Israel in 38th seasons. The first was Ahab – who became king in the 38th year of Asa (1 Kings 16:29). The second was Zechariah the son of Jeroboam – who became king in the 38th year of Azariah (2 Kings 15:8). Stand against the rising of evil and wicked people in this week. There are 60 first-person pronouns (me, my and I) in the 22-verse Psalm 38. Judah and his sons exhibited selfishness against Tamar in Genesis 38. Exodus 38 opens with the making of the altar of burnt offering where lives are laid down by sacrifice; and the making of the Bronze Laver for washing. In the 41-verse 38th chapter of Job, God asked His servant 38 questions to pull self out him. Isaiah 38:10-17 has 33 first-person pronouns (me, my and I). The Book of Zechariah (the 38th book of the Bible) is about God’s determination “to cast out the selfishness horns of the nations that lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it” (Zechariah 1:21). The British -America War of 1812 ended in 1814 (the 38th year of the United States). It was a victory against selfishness in the Colonial Master.

DON’T GIVE UP!

This week, fight until you win. The 38th week is not for quitters. Tamar did not give up in Genesis 38. She knew she belonged to the House of Judah by marriage. Circumstances worked against her but she hung to what she believed until she won. Twins came! Hezekiah did not give up in Isaiah 38. He was very sick and received a word from the Lord that he would die and not live. He went the Lord in prayer and cried until change came. God added 15 years to his life. Ebed-melech did not give up in Jeremiah 38. Wicked people in authority threw Jeremiah into a waterless dungeon and left him to die there. He believed Jeremiah should not die in that pit. He took the matter to the king and obtained favour. The king released 30 men to help him rescue Jeremiah. That was a mighty deliverance. God rescued Obasanjo from Abacha’s prison in the 38th year of Nigeria (1998). Believe God and press for a turnaround this week.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Pray that God will be merciful to and turn things around in the nation as the psalmist prayed in Psalm 38 and in Psalm 51; as God had mercy on Hezekiah in Isaiah 38, and the man who had suffered 38 years in John 5.

2. Pray that God will raise an intervention-force for His persecuted and oppressed people as He used Ebed-melech to help Jeremiah in Jeremiah 38.

3. Pray that the Lord will bring down hindering oaks and cedars in the nations as He did to Babylon in Jeremiah 51 and Gog In Ezekiel 38; and as He did with the Abacha regime in Nigeria’s 38th year.

4. Pray that we would see, hear, and understand what the Lord will be showing us in this season as it was with Zechariah in the 38th book of the Bible. He learnt by asking and answering questions.

5. Pray that the Lord will raise His craftsmen to terrify the horns scattering the nations as He did for Judah in the 38th book of the Bible.

6. Pray that this will be a week of reconstruction and restoration in the House of God in the nations as in the 38th book of the Bible. Pray that Heaven will break silence in the year as in Job 38.

7. Pray that the Lord will purge your heart of selfishness in this week and season. Pray that He would dethrone selfishness and take down the selfish in the nations this week.

SCRIPTURE FOR THE WEEK

Ezekiel 38:22-23: “And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the LORD.”‘

NIGERIA: PRAYING INTO SEPTEMBER 10-16 (THE 37TH WEEK OF THE YEAR AND 50TH WEEK OF NIGERIA’S YEAR)

0

Time is a gate. All purposes, good or evil, must pass through time-gates to manifest on earth. Ecclesiastes 3: 1 tells us that all purposes have gates of time assigned to them. Time governs all men and activities under heaven. In varying degrees, all men are gate-keepers who must give or block access to purposes. Purposes have no access until they find gate-keepers that favor them directly or indirectly. Intercessors are powerful gatekeepers and must watch gates of time carefully. The Bible helps us to understand all gates of time and the purposes that seek to use the gates. This week, our prayers will focus on the 50th week of Nigeria’s year, and on the 37th week of the year. *THE 37TH WEEK* One major thing for which the 37th week of the year is remembered globally in this century is that it’s the week of ‘9/11’ when terrorist plane-hijackeers and suicide- bombers destroyed the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York and sought to strike other strategic places in the United States. Many lives were lost and many nations were affected. It was an attack on the world. How did the wicked have access to this gate of time and how can it be secured? There is a clue in the word of God.

1. The Word of God indicates that the kingdom of darkness pushes the wicked to take the center stage in the 37th season (especially through the spirit of murder). The word ‘wicked’ is used 104 times in the book of Psalms. It is used 14 times in Psalm 37 alone. No other chapter of Psalms has a much mention of ‘the wicked’. This reveals how prominent and active the wicked can be in the 37th season. The word ‘slay’ is used seven times in the book of Psalms but twice in Psalm 37. In Genesis 37, Joseph’s brothers planned to slay him but God distracted them. In Jeremiah 37, the prophet was arrested and imprisoned and left to die until he pleaded with King Zedekiah to get him out the dungeon in the House of Jonathan the Scribe. In Ezekiel 37, Ezekiel prophesied, in a vision, over dry bones of slain men. In Psalm 37, the wicked plotted to slay the righteous but the Lord would not let it happen. Psalm 37:12-15 says, “The wicked plots against the just, And gnashes at him with his teeth. [13] The Lord laughs at him, For He sees that his day is coming. [14] The wicked have drawn the sword And have bent their bow, To cast down the poor and needy, To slay those who are of upright conduct. [15] Their sword shall enter their own heart, And their bows shall be broken”. Psalm 37:32-33 says, “The wicked watches the righteous, And seeks to slay him. [33] The LORD will not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him when he is judged”.

There was an unsuccessful assassination attempt on the 37th President of the United States, Richard Nixon, in 1974. The man who wanted to kill the President had killed one of the pilots of the plane he planned to hijack and crash on the White House. Being frustrated, he killed himself before he could be arrested. The 9/11 suicide-bombing of the World Trade Center happened in the 37th week of 2001. On September 10, 2018, there was explosion in a gas/petrol station at Mafia, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. At least 15 people were roasted by fire, 17 vehicles (including two petrol tankers) were burnt, and over 40 people injured. The operations of wickedness in the 37th season is contrary to God’s plan for the season.

2. What is God’s intention concerning the 37th season? The Lord gave the gate of the 37th season to the House of God. The 37th book of the Bible is about rebuilding the House of God (House of Prayer). God treasures His House in this season and fights for it. In Exodus 37, Bezalel and his company were busy with the construction of parts of the Tabernacle and fabrication of things to be used in it (Ark of Testimony, Table of Showbread, Gold Lampstand, Altar of Incense, Anointing Oil, Incense). In Isaiah 37, Hezekiah went to the House of the Lord to pray against Sennacherib. He also consulted Isaiah, the living House of God in his days. It was from the House of God that Hezekiah and Isaiah defeated Sennacherib. These show the strategic place the House of the Lord occupies in a 37th season. It is the Power House of the season. We are the House of God and the House of Prayer. While the kingdom of darkness is busy planning to kill, God is busy fixing His House. The House of God is greater and stronger than the wicked and their plans and efforts. What is the role of the House of God in the 37th season? It is to capture the season for God’s purpose. It is to enforce the purpose the purpose of God for the season. If the House of God does not occupy and dominate this gate of time, the evil one will gain access and seek to hijack it and make it a gate of destruction.

2.1. The first task of the House of God in the 37th season is to cause the voice of God to be heard. This a week of the Voice of God. Job 37:2-6 says, “Hear attentively the thunder of His voice, And the rumbling that comes from His mouth. [3] He sends it forth under the whole heaven, His lightning to the ends of the earth. [4] After it a voice roars; He thunders with His majestic voice, And He does not restrain them when His voice is heard. [5] God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend. [6] For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth’; Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength”. The means by which the House of God will work in this season is to prophesy, issue decrees, and speak the word of the Lord. Joseph spoke (prophesied) his dreams in Genesis 37. In Isaiah 37 the servant of God prophesied against Sennacherib. In Jeremiah 37, the king invited the servant of God to give him the word of the Lord and he did. In Ezekiel 37, the servant God prophesied to turn dry bones into a mighty army. This is a week to prophesy.

2.2. The second task of the House of God is to frustrate the agenda of wickedness by the voice of God. When Hezekiah reported the evil plans of Sennacherib to Isaiah, the prophet sent him a reply from God:Isaiah 37:33-37 says, “Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the king of Assyria: ‘He shall not come into this city, Nor shoot an arrow there, Nor come before it with shield, Nor build a siege mound against it. [34] By the way that he came, By the same shall he return; And he shall not come into this city,’ Says the LORD. [35] ‘For I will defend this city, to save it For My own sake and for My servant David’s sake. Then the angel of the LORD went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses-all dead. [37] So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed and went away, returned home, and remained at Nineveh”. This week is given to the House of God. A functioning House of God is the only force that can stop or frustrate the evil agenda of the wicked in the 37th season. Let us occupy this gate at make no room for the evil one. It was from the House of God that Hezekiah and Isaiah defeated Sennacherib. The living House of God should, today, decree that the plans of the wicked will not prosper in this week.

2.3. The third task of the House of God in the 37th season is to bring down the wicked. Psalm 37:9-11 says, “For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. [10] For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more. [11] But the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace”. Psalm 37: 20 says, “But the wicked shall perish; And the enemies of the LORD, Like the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish. Into smoke they shall vanish away”. Psalm 37: 35-36 says, “I have seen the wicked in great power, And spreading himself like a native green tree. [36] Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more; Indeed I sought him, but he could not be found”. Isaiah 37:38 says, “Now it came to pass, as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, that his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer struck him down with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Then Esarhaddon his son reigned in his place”.

A NEW BEGINNING

The will of God is to make the 37th season a new beginning. The story of Joseph began Genesis 37 and continued till Genesis 50 – the end of the book. A new king of Assyria emerged in Isaiah 37. Zedekiah became king of Judah in Jeremiah 37. Second Kings 13:10 says that “In the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah, Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz became king over Israel in Samaria….” Jeremiah 52:31 reveals that it was “…In the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah…that Evil-Merodach king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah and brought him out of prison”. That 37th year was a new beginning for both Evil-Merodach and Jehoiachin. Ezekiel 37 is about a new beginning for dry bones of slain men. Queen Elizabeth II died on the sixth day of the 36th week of 2022. Her son and successor, Charles III, was sworn in as king on the first day of the 37th week. This makes this 37th week a new beginning for the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, and the world. It is interesting that 1937 was the first year of his grandfather, George VI, on the throne. He became king December 11, 1936 but was coronated May 1937. This 37th week of the year is a new beginning for you.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Pray that the House of God in the nations shall be strong and on alert this week. Pray for the awakening of the House of God in your nation. Pray that God’s people do no abandon the prayer altar because of discouragement from pressures.

2. Pray, this 37th week, that the Lord will frustrate the destructive plans of the wicked. Pray that the wicked will plot and gnash their teeth in vain this 37th week. Decree that no plot of wickedness against your this week will prosper.

3. Raise your voice, as and from the House of God, against the slayers and murderers. Prophesy their sudden downfall. Prophesy safety, deliverance, and preservation on God’s people. The righteous in your nation will not be put to shame.

4. Give thanks to God for the 37th week and declare, in the name of the Lord, that it is a new beginning and for a new direction. Pray for open hearts and minds concerning the new direction. Pray for grace and wisdom in the new direction.

B. THE 50TH (JUBILEE) WEEK IF NIGERIA’S YEAR

The Bible gives a special place to the 50th. Leviticus 25: 8-13 says, ‘And you shall count seven sabbaths of years for yourself, seven times seven years; and the time of the seven sabbaths of years shall be to you forty-nine years. [9] Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land. [10] And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family. [11] That fiftieth year shall be a Jubilee to you; in it you shall neither sow nor reap what grows of its own accord, nor gather the grapes of your untended vine. [12] For it is the Jubilee; it shall be holy to you; you shall eat its produce from the field. [13] ‘In this Year of Jubilee, each of you shall return to his possession.

September 10-16 is also the 50th week in Nigeria’s year. God named the 50th ‘Jubilee’ and commanded His people to sound the Trumpet of Jubilee alongside – to alter the natural characteristics of the season. Naturally, the 50th is associated with mourning. Nigeria lost President Umar Musa Yar’Adua in the 50th year of our nation. The second and third presidents of the United States (John Adams and Thomas Jefferson) died the same day – on the 50th Independence Anniversary day – 4th of July 1826! Genesis 50 is about the burial of Jacob and ended with the phrase “in a coffin in Egypt”. In Isaiah 50:3, God said, ‘I clothe the heavens with blackness, And I make sackcloth their covering.” Jeremiah 50 is prophecy about the fall of Babylon and ends with “At the noise of the taking of Babylon The earth trembles, And the cry is heard among the nations” (Jeremiah 50:46). In the 50th book of the Bible, Epaphroditus was sick unto death but God delivered him. That book is dedicated to joy and rejoicing because it is through joyous sounding of the trumpet that the 50th is made Jubilee and the garment of mourning is removed. Psalm 50 ends with “Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.”

This week,

1. Pray and proclaim liberty throughout Nigeria – every state, territory, LG, ward, and family. The words you speak are spirit and life.

2. Sound the trumpet and pray to drive away the spirit of mourning from our streets and communities in the 50th week. This week shall not end with “in a coffin in Nigeria”.

3. In this week of returning to possessions, pray and prophesy that unjustly deprived and dispossessed Nigerians shall return to their possessions. This week, you shall have jubilee instead of mourning!!!

SCRIPTURES FOR THE WEEK:

Ezekiel 37:26: “Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and multiply them, and I will set My sanctuary in their midst forevermore”.Jeremiah 50:34: “Their Redeemer is strong; The LORD of hosts is His name. He will thoroughly plead their case, That He may give rest to the land, And disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon”.Have a happy 37th week of the year and a greatly blessed 50th Nigeria-week

PRAYING INTO THE 37TH WEEK OF THE YEAR (SEPTEMBER 10-16)

0

One major thing for which the 37th week of the year is remembered globally in this century is that it’s the week of ‘9/11’ when terrorist plane-hijackeers and suicide- bombers destroyed the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York and sought to strike other strategic places in the United States. Many lives were lost and many nations were affected. It was an attack on the world. How did the wicked have access to this gate of time and how can it be secured? There is a clue in the word of God.

The Word of God indicates that the kingdom of darkness pushes the wicked to take the center stage in the 37th season (especially through the spirit of murder and death). The word ‘wicked’ is used 104 times in the book of Psalms (NKJV). It is used 14 times in Psalm 37 alone. No other chapter of Psalms has as much mention of ‘the wicked’. [33] The LORD will not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him when he is judged.

On September 10, 2018, there was explosion in a gas/petrol station at Lafia, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. At least 15 people were roasted by fire, 17 vehicles (including two petrol tankers) were burnt, and over 40 people injured. The operations of wickedness in the 37th season is contrary to God’s plan for the season.

What is God’s intention concerning the 37th season?

The Lord gave the gate of the 37th season to the House of God. The 37th book of the Bible is about rebuilding the House of the Lord of hosts (House of Prayer Warfare). God treasures His House in this season and fights for it. The name used commonly for God in the 37th book of the Bible is “the Lord of hosts”. This title is used 14 times in this 2-chapter book. The House God is building in the 37th season is a house of prayer and warfare.

It is to enforce the purpose of God for the season. It is to do execute war against the wicked in the name of the Lord of hosts. If the House of God does not occupy and dominate this gate of the 37th season, the evil one will gain access and seek to hijack it and make it a gate of destruction.

In Isaiah 37 the servant of God prophesied against Sennacherib. In Jeremiah 37, the king invited the servant of God to give him the word of the Lord and he did. In Ezekiel 37, the servant God prophesied to turn dry bones into a mighty army. This is a week of prophetic decrees.

2.2. The second task of the House of God is to frustrate the agenda of wickedness by the voice of God. When Hezekiah reported the evil plans of Sennacherib to Isaiah, the prophet sent him a reply from God:

Isaiah 37:33-37 says, “Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the king of Assyria: ‘He shall not come into this city, Nor shoot an arrow there, Nor come before it with shield, Nor build a siege mound against it. [34] By the way that he came, By the same shall he return; And he shall not come into this city,’ Says the LORD. NIGERIA: PRAYING INTO SEPTEMBER 3-9 (THE 36TH WEEK OF THE YEAR AND THE 49TH WEEK OF NIGERIA’S YEAR)

0

SEPTEMBER: NIGERIA’S 12TH MONTH.

1. Nigeria begins a new year every October. This means September is the last month of Nigeria’s year. It is the 12th month of her year. As our year is ending, the Hebrew year is beginning. As we give thanks for surviving the past 11 months, and prepare to CROSS-OVER to a new Nigeria-year, we pray that in this 12th month,1. Nigeria will take a step forward from where she’s been to the New Nigeria God is calling her – as Abraham did in Genesis 12 and as Elijah moved up in the 12th book of the Bible.

2. The Lord will break the strength and backbone of the wicked and give His people a fresh Passover experience as He did to Pharaoh in Exodus 12. Jezebel and the House of Ahab perished in the 12th book of the Bible.

3. The Lord will overthrow and reverser the plans of the enemies of God’s people as He did in the 12th month referred to in Esther 9 and as He did in Revelation 12.

4. The Lord will free the abducted and those imprisoned unjustly as He did in Acts 12; and also that the Herods operating in the land will go down.

5. The Lord will rescue and preserve the Seeds of Change in the land from those who seek to devour them as He frustrated the dragon and delivered the Man-Child and his mother in Revelation 12.

6. The Lord will release the Intervention and Rescue Anointing to help Nigeria – such as He released through Elisha in the 12th book of the Bible.

Happy Cross-over month, Beloved Nigeria!

THE 36TH WEEK

The 36th week is the beginning of a new seven-week season – the sixth 49 days of the year (September 3 – October 21). There are four Biblical patterns for understanding the 36th week. They are

1. The first day of creation. This is because the 36th week is the first week in a 7-week season.

2. The Book of Zephaniah – this is the 36th book of the Bible.

3. The nine 36th chapters of the Bible (Genesis 36, Exodus 36, Numbers 36, Second Chronicles 36, Job 36, Psalm 36, Isaiah 36, Jeremiah 36 and Ezekiel 36).

4. The first four chapters of the sixth book of the Bible (Joshua). The 36th week is the beginning of the sixth 7 weeks (sixth 49 days) of the year and the sixth 7 weeks has some guiding light in the sixth book of the Bible. Share the 24-chapter Book of Joshua to seven weeks and you get 4-4-4-3-3-3-3.

Every week or season has its purpose in the plan of God but the kingdom of darkness seeks to hijack seasons for her own purposes. That is why we must align with God and His purposes to fight to see that His will is done on earth, in each season, as it is in Heaven. We have a mandate to redeem the days from the dominion of evil forces. We shall win because we had won.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE 36TH WEEK AND SEASON

1. The 36th week is a season of special honor to our Heavenly Father. God is First and the first belongs to Him. This is a season to give room and space to God as Bezalel and his company began the construction of the tabernacle in Exodus 36. This is a week to celebrate and magnify God as the Psalmist did in Psalm 36: 5-10; and as Elihu did in Job 36: 5-12, 22-33. This is a season to seek God.

If the Lord is not honoured, the 36th season became a time to experience the 36th book of the Bible (Zephaniah).Zephaniah 1:2-6 says, “I will utterly consume everything From the face of the land,” Says the LORD; [3] “I will consume man and beast; I will consume the birds of the heavens, The fish of the sea, And the stumbling blocks along with the wicked. I will cut off man from the face of the land,” Says the LORD. [4] “I will stretch out My hand against Judah, And against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. I will cut off every trace of Baal from this place, The names of the idolatrous priests with the pagan priests- [5] Those who worship the host of heaven on the housetops; Those who worship and swear oaths by the LORD, But who also swear by Milcom; [6] Those who have turned back from following the LORD, And have not sought the LORD, nor inquired of Him.”Zephaniah 1:14-18 says, “The great day of the LORD is near; It is near and hastens quickly. The noise of the day of the LORD is bitter; There the mighty men shall cry out. [15] That day is a day of wrath, A day of trouble and distress, A day of devastation and desolation, A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness, [16] A day of trumpet and alarm Against the fortified cities And against the high towers. [17] “I will bring distress upon men, And they shall walk like blind men, Because they have sinned against the LORD; Their blood shall be poured out like dust, And their flesh like refuse.” [18] Neither their silver nor their gold Shall be able to deliver them In the day of the LORD’s wrath; But the whole land shall be devoured By the fire of His jealousy, For He will make speedy riddance Of all those who dwell in the land”.

PRAYER: Worship the Lord and praise Him with Psalm 36: 5-10. Speak of His mercy, loving-kindness, righteousness, justice, generosity and faithfulness. Praise the Lord with the words of Elihu in Job 36. Let the Lord be magnified in our lives too. Pray that repentance and humility and mercy will run ahead to avert a book of Zephaniah experience in the nation’s this week. Zephaniah 2:1-3 says, “Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, O undesirable nation, [2] Before the decree is issued, Or the day passes like chaff, Before the LORD’s fierce anger comes upon you, Before the day of the LORD’s anger comes upon you! [3] Seek the LORD, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the LORD’s anger”.

2. The 36th season is a time to speak blessings and comfort to God’s heritage as Ezekiel spoke blessings to Israel in Ezekiel 36; as Moses did to the daughters of Zelophehad who had no male sibling and were at risk of losing their father’s inheritance in Numbers 36.

PRAYER: Prophesy Ezekiel 36 over the nations and God’s people in them. Speak Ezekiel 36: 7-12, 15, 23-38 over plundered and hurting nations and territories.

3. The 36th season is a season of major victories. It is a time to dare impossible challenges by faith and with the power and presence of God. It is a time to overcome tough barriers. It is a time to cross overflowing Jordan.

4.. The 36th week is a season to pray against the wicked and wickedness (Psalm 36: 1-4, 11-12). The wicked seek to hijack the 36th season to dishonor God and ridicule faith in God. Darkness seeks to overtake people in this season:a). All of Genesis 36 is about Esau and his descendants – right in the middle of Jacob’s story. It is like an interruption of Jacob’s story that began Genesis 28.b). The stubbornness of Judah reached a peak in Second Chronicles 36 and Babylon overran God’s people and burnt Jerusalem and the temple.c). Sennacherib, the king of Assyria, threatened to invade Judah in Isaiah 36 and sent his servants to make mockery of Hezekiah’s faith in God. d). In Jeremiah 36, Jehoiakim king of Judah destroyed Jeremiah’s scroll and burnt it when the word of the Lord was read to him from the scroll. He came under curse.

THE TESTIMONY OF HISTORY

Modern history confirms that the wicked are very active in the 36th season. The 36th year of the 20th century (1936) was a dark year for nations around the world with deaths, leadership abdication/resignations, natural disasters and persecutions. The British-America War of 1812 started in the 36th year of the United States. The season of the 36th president of United States (Lyndon B. Johnson) was full of pressures – around gun control, immigration, space program, poverty, civil rights, war against communism in Vietnam, and urban protests. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in this season (April 4, 1968). Robert F. Kennedy was shot on June 5; and pronounced dead the following day, June 6, 1968. The Joe Biden administration opened the 36th seven years of the United States on July 4, 2021. The battle between light and darkness gas raged at home and abroad with allies.

PRAYER: Pray against invasions of peaceful territories this week. Pray against the disruptive spirit of Esau, the destructive spirit of Babylon, and the intimidating spirit is Assyiria’s Sennacherib, the blasphemous spirit of Jehoiakim in the matters of God’s people this week. Raise a cry against the wicked and wickedness in the nations this week. Pray that the wicked in the nations will not be able to hijack this week for evil purposes. Pray against the interruptions and disruptions from the kingdom of darkness this week. Report the wicked to the Lord as in Psalm 36: 1-4 and pray against them as in Psalm 36: 11-12.

THE 49TH WEEK

The 49th week is the week before the week of Jubilee in Nigeria. It is a core seventh season week because it is the seventh week in the seventh 7 weeks of Nigeria’s year. The seventh season is a season of rest but the seventh book and chapters of the Bible Reveal how the kingdom of darkness hijacks this season to make it a time of distress and unrest.

The 49th season is a time of redemption but the kingdom of darkness hijacks it for death. Communism took over China in 1949. The same year Apartheid became official in South Africa. Boko Haram hijacked 2009 in Nigeria.

PRAYER: Decree that the spirit of death will not hijack this 49th week of Nigeria’s year. Decree that it shall be a week of redemption and joy in Nigeria. Pray that the redemption of this week will mean judgment for the wicked as God released upon nations in Jeremiah 49.

SCRIPTURE FOR THE WEEK

Ezekiel 36:24-30: “For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. [25] Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. [26] I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. [27] I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. [28] Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God. [29] I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses. I will call for the grain and multiply it, and bring no famine upon you. [30] And I will multiply the fruit of your trees and the increase of your fields, so that you need never again bear the reproach of famine among the nations”.

PRAYING INTO THE 36TH WEEK OF THE YEAR (SEPTEMBER 3-9)

0

The 36th week is the beginning of a new seven-week season – the sixth 49 days of the year (September 3 – October 21). There are four Biblical patterns for understanding the 36th week. They are:

The first day of creation. This is because the 36th week is the first week in a 7-week season – just as the 7th day of creation is key to understanding 7th seasons.

The Book of Zephaniah – this is the 36th book of the Bible.

The nine 36th chapters of the Bible (Genesis 36, Exodus 36, Numbers 36, Second Chronicles 36, Job 36, Psalm 36, Isaiah 36, Jeremiah 36 and Ezekiel 36).

The first four chapters of the sixth book of the Bible (Joshua). The 36th week is the beginning of the 6th seven weeks (or sixth 49 days) of the year and the sixth 7 weeks has some guiding light in the sixth book of the Bible. Share the 24-chapter Book of Joshua to seven weeks and you get 4-4-4-3-3-3-3.

Every week or season has its purpose in the plan of God but the kingdom of darkness seeks to hijack seasons for her own evil purposes.

The 36th week is a season of special honor to our Heavenly Father. God is First and the first belongs to Him. This is a season to give room and space to God as Bezalel and his company began the construction of the tabernacle in Exodus 36. This is a week to celebrate and magnify God as the Psalmist did in Psalm 36: 5-10; and as Elihu did in Job 36: 5-12, 22-33. This is a season to seek God as Zephaniah 2:1-3 says: “Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, O undesirable nation, [2] Before the decree is issued, Or the day passes like chaff, Before the LORD’s fierce anger comes upon you, Before the day of the LORD’s anger comes upon you! [3] Seek the LORD, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the LORD’s anger”.

If the Lord is not honored, the 36th season becomes a time to experience the 36th book of the Bible (Zephaniah).

Zephaniah 1:2-6 says, “I will utterly consume everything From the face of the land,” Says the LORD; [3] “I will consume man and beast; I will consume the birds of the heavens, The fish of the sea, And the stumbling blocks along with the wicked. I will cut off man from the face of the land,” Says the LORD. [4] “I will stretch out My hand against Judah, And against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. I will cut off every trace of Baal from this place, The names of the idolatrous priests with the pagan priests- [5] Those who worship the host of heaven on the housetops; Those who worship and swear oaths by the LORD, But who also swear by Milcom; [6] Those who have turned back from following the LORD, And have not sought the LORD, nor inquired of Him.”

Zephaniah 1:14-18 says, “The great day of the LORD is near; It is near and hastens quickly.

Pray that repentance and humility and mercy will run ahead to avert a book of Zephaniah experience in the nations this week.

The 36th season is a time to speak blessings and comfort to God’s heritage as Ezekiel spoke blessings to Israel in Ezekiel 36; as Moses did to the tribe of Manasseh in Numbers 36. They faced the risk of losing inheritance to other tribes if the daughters of Zelophehad who had no male sibling married to other tribes.

This is a season to protect inheritance from changing hands. Numbers 36:7-9 says, “So the inheritance of the children of Israel shall not change hands from tribe to tribe, for every one of the children of Israel shall keep the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers. [8] And every daughter who possesses an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel shall be the wife of one of the family of her father’s tribe, so that the children of Israel each may possess the inheritance of his fathers. [9] Thus no inheritance shall change hands from one tribe to another, but every tribe of the children of Israel shall keep its own inheritance.” In Second Chronicles 36, Babylon took over the land of Judah.

PRAYER: Prophesy Ezekiel 36 over the nations and God’s people in them. Speak Ezekiel 36: 7-12, 15, 23-38 over plundered and hurting nations and territories. Speak Zephaniah 3: 12-20 to God’s people in the nations. Pray that what belongs to will not be taken by another. Pray that foreigners will not take over your inheritance and possessions.

The 36th season is a season of major victories. It is a time to dare impossible challenges by faith and with the power and presence of God. It is a time to overcome tough barriers. It is a time to cross overflowing Jordan. God’s people in the United States had a major victory at the beginning of her 36th seven years with the overthrow of Roe Vs Wade.

PRAYER: Pray that this will be a week of significant victories for God’s people in the nations.

4.. The 36th week is a season to pray against the wicked and wickedness (Psalm 36: 1-4, 11-12). The wicked seek to hijack the 36th season to dishonor God and ridicule His people and their faith in God. Darkness seeks to overtake people in this season:

a). All of Genesis 36 is about Esau and his descendants – right in the middle of Jacob’s story. It is like an unholy interruption of Jacob’s story that began Genesis 28.

b). The stubbornness of Judah reached a peak in Second Chronicles 36 and Babylon overran God’s people and burnt Jerusalem and the temple.

The battle between light and darkness has raged at home and abroad with allies. This week in 2022 (September 8), Queen Elizabeth II died at 96 following a 70 year reign. His son, Prince Charles succeeded her. Queen Elizabeth II ascended the throne in 1952 at the beginning of the 36th seven years of the United Kingdom and departed the earth on the 6th day of the 36th week of 2022.

Happy 36th week!

NIGERIA: PRAYING INTO AUGUST 27 – SEP. 2 (THE 35TH WEEK OF THE YEAR AND THE 48TH WEEK OF NIGERIA’S YEAR)

0

PROLOGUE:

God did not intend that man would be a slave of time or be controlled by it. God made time for man and designed it for the execution of His purposes on earth. Joshua understood this when he called the sun and the moon to stand still until he had done the will of God. From our exalted place in Christ, we shall be speaking into this 35th week of the year to cooperate and align with God’s purposes in the nations.

AUGUST 27 IN NIGERIA

This week is very significant in Nigeria. It occupies a unique place in our history; especially from the days of the Babangida administration. This is like the IBB week in Nigeria. Babangida was Nigeria’s 8th National Leader and he made three critical decisions in the 8th month about the same time. 1. This week in 1985 (August 27), Ibrahim Babangida toppled the regime of Muhammad Buhari and ended the 20-month regime abruptly. 2. This week in 1991 (August 27), the Ibrahim Babangida administration created 9 new states in Nigeria and gave new names to two: Abia from Imo, Enugu from Anambra, Delta from Bendel (with Edo), Jigawa from Kano, Kebbi from Sokoto, Osun from Oyo, Kogi from Kwara and Benue, Taraba from Gongola (with Adamawa) Yobe from Borno. This increased the number of states in Nigeria from 21 to 30. This week, those 9 states will be marking their 31st anniversary and stepping into their 32nd year. In the next 12 months, we need to pray for the States using the 32nd book and 32nd chapters of the Bible.3. This week in 1993 (August 27) Ibrahim Babangida yielded to pressure, stepped down as Head of State, and handed over to an Interim National Government.

THE 35TH WEEK OF THE YEAR FIVE THINGS ABOUT THE 35TH SEASON:

1. This is a week of rest. The 35th week is the seventh and last week in the fifth 7 weeks of the year. It is a Sabbath week. A seventh week should be a season of rest from toil, labor, trouble, and struggles. The Lord Jesus used to Sabbath to call the distressed into rest from their struggles and pains. When God speaks rest, the evil one speaks distress.P

RAYER: Pray that this week would be a time of ending yokes and burdens rather a week of unrest and troubles. Lean on the finished work and command rest for God’s people.

2. This is a week of sudden and unexpected ends and new beginnings. The 35th season is a season of abrupt ends. Genesis 35 bears witness to this. Isaac died there. Deborah (Rebekah’s nurse) died there. Rachel died there after giving birth to Benjamin (Genesis 35: 8, 19, 29). Jacob’s active life ended in this chapter also. Genesis 36 is about Esau. The rest of the book is about the sons of Jacob especially Joseph. Abraham Lincoln was assassinated within the 35th seven years from 1620. King George VI died at the close of the 35th seven years of the United Kingdom. The 35th President of the United States, John F, Kennedy, was assassinated. In the 35th seven years of America (from 1776), Donald Trump escaped two impeachment attempts. Within the same 35th seven years spirit of death working through COVID-19 also swept through the land and ended many lives.

PRAYER: Pray against abrupt endings for God’s people this 35th week of the year. Pray against operations of the spirit of death in this week. Decree abrupt ends for things that should not be – in families. In the church and in the nations.

3. This is a week of judgment against wickedness. Psalm 35:1-3 says, “Plead my cause, O LORD, with those who strive with me; Fight against those who fight against me. [2] Take hold of shield and buckler, And stand up for my help. [3] Also draw out the spear, And stop those who pursue me. Say to my soul, “I am your salvation.” The 35th season is a season when the wicked do wickedly. It is a book of Habakkuk week. In the book of Habakkuk, the prophet complained to the Lord about His seeming indifference to his cry against violence and breakdown of justice n the land. God promised He would tame the land with a wicked nation. The prophet protested; wondering how God would use a wicked and ungodly nation to punish His people. In a 35th week, God may seem silent or absent but He is in His temple and will act in due time. Reuben defiled his father’s bed in Genesis 35. The Abacha government accused, arrested, and jailed Obasanjo in 1995 (Nigeria’s 35th year). The Ogoni 8 (including Ken Saro-Wiwa were executed the same year. It was a year impunity and great human rights abuse in Nigeria leading to tough UN sanctions.

PRAYER: Pray that God will rise against wickedness, violence, and injustice in the nations this week. Pray in line with Psalm 35 that God will deliver His people from wicked hands and hearts in this week.

4. This is a week of revival. This is a time to return to Bethel. The 35th season is a time to go back to Bethel – the place of encounter with God. In Genesis 35, God told Jacob to return to Bethel. He got his family and household to do away with all idols in their possession. In Second Chronicles 35, Josiah led Israel to keep a landmark Passover as part of his reforms. Josiah and all Judah returned to the Lord and observed a ground-shaking Passover; such as had never happened since the days of Samuel. That was the last revival before captivity. The 35th season is a time for revival of faith. Josiah’s celebration of the Passover was like a return to the beginning. The Passover was the beginning of Israel’s independence and separation from Egypt. In Jeremiah 35, God commended the sons of Rechab for refusing to depart from their roots and instructions of their father.PRAYER: Pray for revival in the nations. The Spirit of God is calling us this week to go back to Bethel. Pray that the God’s people will hear this call. Pray against temptations to shun the path to Bethel in this week.5. The 35th season is a season of blessings for the godly. In Genesis 35, God spoke comfort and blessing to Jacob. He announced his change of name for the last time in this chapter. In Jeremiah 35, God also blessed the sons of Rechab.

PRAYER: Pray that this is a week of divine encounters for God’s people in the nations. Let it be a week of removing the garment of old identity. Let it be a week of walking in the blessings of our new identity in Christ.

NIGERIA’S 48TH WEEK

1. The 48th week is a season of the Sovereignty and Lordship of God. The 48th chapters of Psalm, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel, bear witness to this. The 48th book the Bible opens with God’s sovereign decision to make Paul an apostle.

PRAYER: Pray that the Hand of the Sovereign God will move in Nigeria this week and put down the power of man in this country.

2. The 48th season is a season of grace. In Genesis 48, Jacob adopted the two sons of Jacob and made them equal to their uncles by inheritance. He also gave the blessing of the firstborn to the second child. The 48th book of the Bible is Galatians. The book is about our gracious redemption in Christ that made us sons of God like Jesus Christ and sons of Abraham like Isaac. God knows how to qualify the unqualified.

PRAYER: Pray that GRACE will locate the ‘unqualified’ in Nigeria this week.

3. This is a week of focus on the City of God. Psalm 48 is about the city and dwelling place of the Great God. Psalm 48:1-3 says, “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised In the city of our God, In His holy mountain. [2] Beautiful in elevation, The joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion on the sides of the north, The city of the great King. [3] God is in her palaces; He is known as her refuge” Ezekiel 48 is also about the City of God. Ezekiel 48:35 says, “…and the name of the city from that day shall be: THE LORD IS THERE.”

PRAYER: Pray that the Lord will be seen and felt in Nigeria this week.

SCRIPTURES FOR THE WEEK:

Isaiah 35:5-6: Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then the lame shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert.

Isaiah 48:9-11: “For My name’s sake I will defer My anger, And for My praise I will restrain it from you, So that I do not cut you off. [10] Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. [11] For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it; For how should My name be profaned? And I will not give My glory to another.Have a happy 35th week of the year and a greatly blessed 48th week of Nigeria’s year.

PRAYING INTO THE 35TH WEEK OF THE YEAR (August 27 – September 2).

God did not intend that man would be a slave to time or be controlled by it. God made time for man and designed it for the execution of His purposes on earth. In Mark 2: 27, Jesus said, “The Sabbath was made for man; and not man for the Sabbath”. Joshua understood this when he called the sun and the moon to stand still until he had done the will of God. From our exalted place in Christ, we shall be speaking into this 35th week of the year to cooperate and align with God’s purposes in the nations. By prayer, prophetic decrees and obedience, let us redeem the week from the clutches of evil.

FIVE THINGS ABOUT THE 35TH SEASON:

  1. This is a week of rest. The 35th week is the seventh and last week in the fifth 7 weeks of the year. It is a Sabbath week. A seventh week should be a season of rest from toil, labor, trouble, and struggles. The Lord Jesus used the Sabbath to call the distressed into rest from their struggles and pains. When God speaks rest, the evil one speaks distress.

PRAYER: Pray that this week would be a time of ending yokes and burdens rather a week of unrest and troubles. Let us lean on the finished work and command rest for God’s people in this week.

2. This is a week of everlasting joy but the evil one hijacks this season to make it a season of sorrow. Isaiah 35:10 says, “And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away”.The evil one makes the 35th season a time of abrupt endings. He cuts short lives and purposes in this season. The rest of the book is about the sons of Jacob especially Joseph and Judah. The death of King Josiah is recorded in Second Chronicles 35. He died at the age of 39. His life ended abruptly in a battle field.

Abraham Lincoln was assassinated within the 35th seven years of America from 1620. King George VI died at the close of the 35th seven years of the United Kingdom. The 35th President of the United States, John F, Kennedy, was assassinated. In the 35th seven years of America (from 1776), Donald Trump escaped two impeachment attempts. Within the same 35th seven years, the spirit of death working through COVID-19, swept through the land and ended many lives. This week in 1985 (August 27), the regime of Muhammad Buhari ended abruptly in Nigeria following Ibrahim Babangida’s coup. This week in 1991 (August 27), Ibrahim Babangida created 9 new states in Nigeria increasing the number of states from 21 to 30. This week in 1993 (August 27) Ibrahim Babangida yielded to pressure, stepped down as Head of State, and handed over to an Interim National Government.

The Passover was the beginning of Israel’s independence and separation from Egypt. In Jeremiah 35, God commended the sons of Rechab for refusing to depart from their roots and from the instructions of their father

.PRAYER: Pray for revival in the nations. The Spirit of God is calling us this week to go back to Bethel. Pray that the God’s people will hear this call. Pray against temptations to shun the path to Bethel in this week.

5. The 35th season is a season of blessings for the godly. In Genesis 35, God spoke comfort and blessing to Jacob. He announced his change of name for the last time in this chapter. In Jeremiah 35, God blessed the sons of Rechab. Jeremiah 35:19 says, “…Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not lack a man to stand before Me forever.”

PRAYER: Pray that this is a week of divine encounters for God’s people in the nations. Let it be a week of removing the garment of old identity and a week of walking in the blessings our new identity in Christ.
