The Mystery of the Eleventh Month

Welcome to the eleventh month of the year. The eleventh month is the 30-day season following the tenth month. In the Gregorian calendar, this is the month of November. In the Hebrew calendar, the eleventh month is the 30-day month of Shivat (Shebat) that runs between January and February. The Hebrew months that meet in the month of November are the 8th and 9th month (Cheshvan and Chislev). The 8th month (Heshvan or Cheshvan) begins in October and ends in November. The 9th month (Kislev or Chislev) begins November and ends December. The month of November comprises the second half of the 8th Hebrew month and the first half of the 9th Hebrew month. So, certain things the Bible reveals about the 8th and 9th Hebrew months are also applicable to the eleventh month in the Gregorian calendar.

Nations, states, organizations, families, and individuals are to count their eleventh months from the day of their birth. All eleventh months have common characteristics. Biblical patterns for understanding the eleventh month are the fourth day of creation narrative, the 11th book and chapters of the Bible, and Bible passages mentioning the 11th month.

This is your month of breaking new grounds and stepping into new realms. This month, the Lord will want you to cross familiar borders and venture into new territories. This is a month of stretching and expanding in the will of God. Make the move as the Holy Spirit leads and guides!

A, The eleventh month is a fourth day of creation season. This is so because the 11th is the fourth in the second-seven. God made the luminaries on the fourth day of creation. The fourth in every seven seasons is a fourth day of creation season. The eleventh month is the month of lights and illumination. It is a month to walk in wisdom, discretion, and discernment. It is a month of wealth. It is a month to prioritize relationships.

B. The eleventh month is a Book of First Kings season. The book of First Kings is the eleventh book of the Bible and is applicable to the eleventh month of the year. Solomon became king in the eleventh book of the Bible. God gave him wisdom and wealth and he added women. The building of the temple is recorded in the eleventh book of the Bible. The eleventh season is building – season. It is important to pray against forces that resist or oppose building. Israel experienced political and spiritual turbulence in the eleventh book of the Bible. The kingdom divided under the fourth king, Rehoboam. The Northern Kingdom, under Jeroboam, became officially idolatrous; and worsened under Ahab and Jezebel.. God began to raise prophets of confrontation like Ahijah the Shilonite, the man of God from Judah, and Elijah the Tishbite,  to bring rebuke and correction. Amid the blessings of the month, you must watch against temptations to drift from purpose and principles. The eleventh chapters of the Bible indicate that the eleventh season is a season of temptations. Consider the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11, the sins of David in Second Samuel 11, the failure of Solomon in First Kings 11, the fall of Athaliah in Second Kings 11, the weariness of John the Baptist in Matthew 11, or the Great Schism of the 11th century. The 11th season is a season of great falls. The Al-Qaeda leader, Osama Bin Laden, and the strong man of Libya, Muammar Ghadaffi, were both killed in 2011. In the eleventh season, the strong may be weak, and the wise may act foolishly. Be watchful.

C. The eleventh month is a season expressing the Book of Acts 13-28, Romans, First Corinthians, Second Corinthians, and Galatians. Why is it so? The eleventh month comprises the 44th week (4 days), the 45th week, the 46th week, the 47th week, and five days in the 48th week of the year. The 44th week is a Book of Acts week. Acts is the 44th book of the Bible. The 45th week is a book of Romans week because Romans is the 45th book of the Bible. The 46th week is a book of First Corinthians week. The book of First Corinthians is the 46th book of the Bible. The 47th week is a book of Second Corinthians week. The 47th book of the Bible is Second Corinthians. The 48th week is a book of Galatians week. Galatians is the 48th book of the Bible. Going through the eleventh month is like journeying from Acts 13 to Galatians 5. The eleventh month has Biblical patterns in the Pauline side of the New Testament. November is a month of new realms and levels. November is for novelties! It is a season to invade and conquer kingdoms and territories with light as Paul did. It is season to enjoy grace and freedom from yokes and burdens.

As an Acts 13-28 season, the first four days of November is a time to cross borders and venture into the deep with the assignment of the year; as Paul and his associates did so with the gospel. It is the time to take yourself and your work to another level. The missionary journeys of Paul began here. This is where Saul of Tarsus (Hebrew identity) ended and Paul (Greco-Roman identity) began. Not much is said about Peter and the other apostles from this point. The missionary journeys Paul and his team undertook in Acts 13-28 formed the foundation for all his epistles – which is about half the New Testament. So, what you do within the first four days of the eleventh month can impact, significantly, the rest of the year.

As a book of Romans season, November 5 – 11 is a season of revelations of hidden people and things. As a book of First Corinthians season, November 12-18 is a time walk in love and prioritize relationships. In this season, how much you care is greater than how much you know. As a book of Second Corinthians season, November 19 – 25 is a season the walk by faith and not by sight. It is a season to put the spiritual above the carnal and the material, and the invisible realities above appearance. As a book of Galatians season, November 26-30 (48th week) is a season to watch against negative reversions in your life. In the 48th book of the Bible,, Paul’s disciples reverted from faith to works. He wrote this book to push them back into faith. This is the season to revel in the sovereign grace of God. As the month ends, people tend to receive, by the sovereign grace of God, more than they deserve.

Going through the eleventh month is also like taking a prophetic journey from the 44th to the 48th chapters of Genesis, Psalms, Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel. In Genesis 44-48, Joseph reunites with Benjamin his brother, introduced himself to his brothers, brings his family to Egypt for resettlement and Jacob blessed Joseph and his son’s. November is a season to cross borders in experiences. It is a season to break new grounds and move into new realms.

D. Bible passages that mention ‘the eleventh month

The Bible reveals one thing about the eleventh month:

IT IS A SEASON TO RECEIVE AND DECLARE THE WORD OF THE LORD

Deuteronomy 1:3: Now it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spoke to the children of Israel according to all that the LORD had given him as commandments to them,

Zechariah 1:7-17: On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet: [8] I saw by night, and behold, a man riding on a red horse, and it stood among the myrtle trees in the hollow; and behind him were horses: red, sorrel, and white. [9] Then I said, “My lord, what are these?” So the angel who talked with me said to me, “I will show you what they are.” [10] And the man who stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, “These are the ones whom the LORD has sent to walk to and fro throughout the earth.” [11] So they answered the Angel of the LORD, who stood among the myrtle trees, and said, “We have walked to and fro throughout the earth, and behold, all the earth is resting quietly.” [12] Then the Angel of the LORD answered and said, “O LORD of hosts, how long will You not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which You were angry these seventy years?” [13] And the LORD answered the angel who talked to me, with good and comforting words. [14] So the angel who spoke with me said to me, “Proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts: “I am zealous for Jerusalem And for Zion with great zeal. [15] I am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease; For I was a little angry, And they helped-but with evil intent.” [16] ‘Therefore thus says the LORD: “I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy; My house shall be built in it,” says the LORD of hosts, “And a surveyor’s line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.”‘ [17] “Again proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts: “My cities shall again spread out through prosperity; The LORD will again comfort Zion, And will again choose Jerusalem.”‘”

The eleventh month is a season of prophetic revelations and declarations. It is a season to declare what God had said to those have ears to hear.

THE 8TH HEBREW MONTH IS APPLICABLE

Since part of the 8th Hebrew month corresponds to the season of the 11th Gregorian calendar month, it is important to apply what the Bible says about the 8th Hebrew month to this eleventh month.

The Bible passages mentioning the 8th month reveal three things that are applicable to this month of November:

1. It is for the finishing and full completion of purposes.

2. It is for a positive or negative new beginning

3. It is revival and returning to the original blueprint

1. THE FINISHING AND FULL COMPLETION OF PURPOSES

1 Kings 6:38“And in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished IN ALL ITS DETAILS AND ACCORDING TO ALL ITS PLANS. So he was seven years in building it”.

This is a month of completing tasks that will launch you into a new beginning. What tasks will you be completing this month?

2. MONTH OF POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE NEW BEGINNING

1 Kings 12:32-33: “Jeroboam ordained a feast on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, like the feast that was in Judah, and offered sacrifices on the altar. So he did at Bethel, sacrificing to the calves that he had made. And at Bethel he installed the priests of the high places which he had made. [33] So he made offerings on the altar which he had made at Bethel on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, in the month which he had devised in his own heart. And he ordained a feast for the children of Israel, and offered sacrifices on the altar and burned incense”.

A new beginning means the end of one phase of work. End one thing before you begin another. A new beginning may also mean a departure from what used to be to what ought to be. Jeroboam made a negative new beginning in this passage. He paid dearly for it. Let this month be a month of a positive new beginning in your life.

3. MONTH OF REVIVAL AND RETURNING TO THE ORIGINAL BLUEPRINT

Zechariah 1:1-4: “In the eighth month of the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying, [2] “The LORD has been very angry with your fathers. [3] Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Return to Me,” says the LORD of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says the LORD of hosts. [4] “Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets preached, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Turn now from your evil ways and your evil deeds.”‘ But they did not hear nor heed Me,” says the LORD”.

The 8th month is for making a new beginning with God. It is a time to return to God. It is a month of revival. In the passage above, God told the prophet to tell the people to return to Him. The greatest new beginning one can make in the 8th month is to return to God with zeal. This is a season to separate yourself to what God had separated you for.

THE 9TH HEBREW MONTH IS ALSO APPLICABLE

The first part of the 9th Hebrew month,, Kislev, falls into the season of the 11th month in the Gregorian calendar. So, certain things the Bible reveals about the 9th month are applicable to this eleventh month.

The ‘ninth month’ is mentioned six times in the Bible; and those passages reveal three things about the ninth month:

1. It is a month of encounter with God’s word.

2. It is a month of blessings.

3. It is a month of praying and seeking God.

1. MONTH OF ENCOUNTER WITH THE WORD

Ezra 10:9-11: So all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered at Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth of the month; and all the people sat in the open square of the house of God, trembling because of this matter and because of heavy rain. [10] Then Ezra the priest stood up and said to them, “You have transgressed and have taken pagan wives, adding to the guilt of Israel. [11] Now therefore, make confession to the LORD God of your fathers, and do His will; separate yourselves from the peoples of the land, and from the pagan wives.”

Jeremiah 36:9-10: Now it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before the LORD to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people who came from the cities of Judah to Jerusalem. [10] Then Baruch read from the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the LORD, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shap Huhan the scribe, in the upper court at the entry of the New Gate of the LORD’s house, in the hearing of all the people.

Jeremiah 36:22-23: Now the king was sitting in the winter house in the ninth month, with a fire burning on the hearth before him. [23] And it happened, when Jehudi had read three or four columns, that the king cut it with the scribe’s knife and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.

2. THE MONTH OF BLESSING

Haggai 2:10-19: On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet, saying, [11] “Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Now, ask the priests concerning the law, saying, [12] “If one carries holy meat in the fold of his garment, and with the edge he touches bread or stew, wine or oil, or any food, will it become holy?”‘” Then the priests answered and said, “No.” [13] And Haggai said, “If one who is unclean because of a dead body touches any of these, will it be unclean?” So the priests answered and said, “It shall be unclean.” [14] Then Haggai answered and said, “‘So is this people, and so is this nation before Me,’ says the LORD, ‘and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean. [15] ‘And now, carefully consider from this day forward: from before stone was laid upon stone in the temple of the LORD- [16] since those days, when one came to a heap of twenty ephahs, there were but ten; when one came to the wine vat to draw out fifty baths from the press, there were but twenty. [17] I struck you with blight and mildew and hail in all the labors of your hands; yet you did not turn to Me,’ says the LORD. [18] ‘Consider now from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundation of the LORD’s temple was laid-consider it: [19] Is the seed still in the barn? As yet the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yielded fruit. But from this day I will bless you.’”

3. MONTH OF PRAYING AND SEEKING GOD

Zechariah 7:1-3: Now in the fourth year of King Darius it came to pass that the word of the LORD came to Zechariah, on the fourth day of the ninth month, Chislev, [2] when the people sent Sherezer, with Regem-Melech and his men, to the house of God, to pray before the LORD, [3] and to ask the priests who were in the house of the LORD of hosts, and the prophets, saying, “Should I weep in the fifth month and fast as I have done for so many years?”

PRAYERS FOR THE 11TH MONTH

1. O Lord, deliver me from the deceptive moves of the adversary around me in this season. Deliver your people from the temptations of the eleventh season this 11th month.

2. O Lord, help me to treasure and keep the relationships you have given me in this season.

3. O Lord help me to stay humble and receive those you might send my way to bring correction into my life.

4. O Lord enable me to begin and complete the tasks  of this season as Solomon completed the building of the temple in the eleventh book of the Bible. Deliver me from temptations to quit as Elijah wanted to quit the prophetic ministry in the 11th book of the Bible.

5. O Lord, guide me to cross borders, break new grounds and enter into new realms ordained for this season. Give me strength for the tasks of this month.

6. O Lord, as you stopped the construction of the tower of Babel in Genesis 11, let authorized Initiatives working against divine purposes, in this month, end in confusion.

7. O Lord, as the unprecedented is recorded in the 11th book and chapters of the Bible, let this 11th month be a season unprecedented heavenly visitations. Let what is dead or dying come back to life. Let there be supernatural supplies.

Happy 11th month of the year!
