Welcome 118th day of the year! Day 118 is the sixth day of the seventeenth week. It is the sixth day of the third week in the third 49 days of the year. It is the 20th day in the third 49 days. It is a sixth-season day. Day 118 is April 28 in a clear year; and April 27 in a leap year. The basic Bible patterns for understanding Day 118 are the sixth day of creation narrative, Psalm 118, and the sixth chapter of the seventeenth book of the Bible. The 20th book and chapters of the Bible are also applicable.
Day 118 is sixth day of creation day in the 17th week. On the sixth day, God perfected (completed) the creation of flesh. He made land-animals and made Man in His image and likeness. He blessed man with dominion, fruitfulness, and multiplication; and communicated with him concerning provisions. He gave Man authority to rule over His creation. The sixth season is for possessing our possessions through receiving Divine instructions. It is a season to win battles through the power and wisdom of God. It is season of exploits by the right hand of God. It is God’s season of battle with, and triumph over, His enemies. Day 118 is a day of conflict in which forces that express God are to dominate those that do not express God.
Day 118 is an Esther-chapter-9 day in the 17th week. The 9th chapter and sixth section of the 17th book of the Bible is applicable to the sixth day of the 17th week of the year. In the ninth chapter of the Book of Esther, on the day that the Jews were to be annihilated, the opposite happened. The Jews overpowered their foes, killed thousands of them, and celebrated. The ten sons of Haman were also hanged on the gallows. This chapter of Esther is the foundation of the annual Jewish feast of Purim. Day 118 is the season of the downfall and shame of the enemies of God. Benito Mussolini, the fascist prime minister of Italy was executed and hung upside down on the 118th day of 1945; three months before his 62nd birthday. Day 118 is a day to silence enemies of righteousness permanently.
Day 118 is a book of Proverbs day in the third 49 days of the year. The 20th book of the Bible is applicable to the 20th day in the third 49 days. The 20th book of the Bible indicates that the 20th season is a season of conflict between the godly and the ungodly, and between the wise and the foolish. It is a season to win battles by following principles of divine wisdom.
Day 118 is a Psalm 118 day. This psalm is about giving thanks to God, reposing conference in God, warring against the enemy, deliverance from death and all adversaries.
THANKSGIVING: This psalm is a call for thanksgiving to God for His everlasting mercies. Psalm 118:1-5,29 says, “Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. [2] Let Israel now say, “His mercy endures forever.” [3] Let the house of Aaron now say, “His mercy endures forever.” [4] Let those who fear the LORD now say, “His mercy endures forever.” “I called on the LORD in distress; The LORD answered me and set me in a broad place. [29] Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever”.
TRUST IN GOD: Psalm 118 is a call to trust in God. The psalmist in Psalm 118:6-9 says,”The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? [7] The LORD is for me among those who help me; Therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me. [8] It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man. [9] It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in princes”.
WARFARE AND VICTORY: Psalm 118 is a psalm of confidence in God – even in the face of death. Here, the psalmist is not just taking refuge in God but also fighting from God. He is not running or hiding from the enemies but declaring war against them in the name of the Lord. Day 118 is a day of battles. It is a 6th season day. It is a 20th season day. The sixth season is a season of war. Psalm 118:10-16 says, “All nations surrounded me, But in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. [11] They surrounded me, Yes, they surrounded me; But in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. [12] They surrounded me like bees; They were quenched like a fire of thorns; For in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. [13] You pushed me violently, that I might fall, But the LORD helped me. [14] The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation. [15] The voice of rejoicing and salvation Is in the tents of the righteous; The right hand of the LORD does valiantly. [16] The right hand of the LORD is exalted; The right hand of the LORD does valiantly.
DELIVERANCE FROM DEATH: Psalm 118 is a about victory over death. The spirit of death parades in the sixth season but the Lord preserves His own. Psalm 118:17-18 says, “I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the LORD. The LORD has chastened me severely, But He has not given me over to death”. Declare this psalm over your life today.
TRIUMPHANT PRAISE AND CELEBRATION: Psalm 118 is about the celebration of triumph. Day 118 is a day of victory-celebration. Psalm 118:19-28 says, “Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will go through them, And I will praise the LORD. This is the gate of the LORD, Through which the righteous shall enter. I will praise You, For You have answered me, And have become my salvation. The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. This was the LORD’s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Save now, I pray, O LORD; O LORD, I pray, send now prosperity. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD! We have blessed you from the house of the LORD. God is the LORD, And He has given us light; Bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar. You are my God, and I will praise You; You are my God, I will exalt You”.
Day 118 is Ephesians – Philemon day in the 17th week. Every week is like a journey through the Bible. Every week has an Old Testament side and a New Testament side. The first four days of the week belong to the Old Testament side and express the 39 books of the Old Testament. The remaining three days of the week constitute the New Testament side and express the 27 books of the New Testament. This sixth day of the week is the second day in the New Testament side of the week; and expresses the second nine books of the New Testament. The second 9 books of the New Testament (Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 & 2 Thessalonians, 1 & 2 Timothy, Titus, and Philemon) are books of instruction. The pastoral epistles of Paul are in this section. In those books, Paul guided churches and his associates in their ministries. The second 9 books of the N.T are mentoring books. This section of the Bible is for “the preparation of the man of God”. Day 118 is a day to succeed through guidance.
DECREE AND DECLARE: God made us in His image and likeness to rule, have dominion, and impose His will on seasons; as He did with the seven days of creation. He decreed what He wanted for each day. We are to decree what is revealed concerning each day. Today, decree the downfall of the wicked and the lifting and establishment of the just. Today, prophesy and declare war against the enemies of God. Today, prophesy restoration and blessing on God’s people because of the finished work; and prophesy against ungodliness. Today, show that your primary allegiance is to the God of Israel. You are made in the image and likeness of God. This is a day to commemorate and relive the creation of man in the image and likeness of God. Today, make your way back to the Lord. Even if you are not a backslider, you can still get closer to the goal of expressing the Lord – as His image and likeness. Today, stand out for God as His representative and look into your life, and look around, for things and areas that need to be conformed to God’s standards. Today, pray that the kingdom comes, by the word of God, to establish God’s will in your life, family, church, community, nation; and in the nations of the world. May the Lord honor you today; and with all who have labored secretly for His name. Happy 118th day!
