FIVE BIBLICAL PATTERNS FOR THE DAY
There are five basic biblical patterns for this day:
1. The first day of creation (Genesis 1:1-5)
2. Psalm 148
3. Songs of Solomon 1 -;2
4. The first book of the Bible (Genesis)
5. The first 10 books of the Bible.
1. Day 148 is a First Day of Creation season. God gave the first day of creation to light. Light came first because God is Light and God is First. The first belongs to the First. Day 148 (or Year 148) is God’s season! It is Light’s day. The 148 season is a season to celebrate God. Nothing else should take the place of celebrating God as Light in this season – not even prayer. As we celebrate God as Light, He liberates us from the darkness of the season.
2. Day 148 is a Book of Genesis day in the fourth 7 weeks of the year. Genesis is the first book of the Bible and is applicable to the first day in the fourth week of weeks (fourth 7 weeks) in the year. Genesis is a book of beginnings. This is a day of new beginnings. This is a day of the revelation of God as Creator,Lord and Sustainer of all things. This is a day of tests of loyalty to God. Pray that it’s not a day of judgmental destructions. Pray against the rebellion and disasters of the book of Genesis.
3. Day 148 is a Psalm 148 season. In Psalm 148, the psalmist calls God’s creation to praise Him. The first work of God is creation. So, in the first season, creation must praise God. God is first and the first is God’s.
In Psalm 148:1-6, the psalmist calls the heavens (and all that is in it) to praise God: “Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD from the heavens; Praise Him in the heights! [2] Praise Him, all His angels; Praise Him, all His hosts! [3] Praise Him, sun and moon; Praise Him, all you stars of light! [4] Praise Him, you heavens of heavens, And you waters above the heavens! [5] Let them praise the name of the LORD, For He commanded and they were created. [6] He also established them forever and ever; He made a decree which shall not pass away”.
From the second to the fourth verse, the host of heaven are invited to praise God:
Praise Him, all His angels;
Praise Him, all His hosts! Praise Him, sun and moon;
Praise Him, all you stars of light!
Praise Him, you heavens of heavens,
And you waters above the heavens!
The first and sixth verses give reasons why the heavens should praise God:
1. For He commanded and they were created.
2. He also established them forever and ever; He made a decree which shall not pass away”.
In Psalm 148:7-14, the psalmist calls the earth and the seas to praise God: It opens with “Praise the LORD from the earth”. Who is going to praise God from the earth?
You great sea creatures and all the depths;
Fire and hail,
snow and clouds;
Stormy wind, fulfilling His word;
Mountains and all hills;
Fruitful trees and all cedars;
Beasts and all cattle;
Creeping things and flying fowl;
Kings of the earth and all peoples;
Princes and all judges of the earth;
Both young men and maidens;
Old men and children.
The 13th and 14th verses give reasons for praising God from the earth:
1.For His name alone is exalted;
2. His glory is above the earth and heaven.
3. And He has exalted the horn of His people, The praise of all His saints- Of the children of Israel, A people near to Him. Praise the LORD!”
Day 148 (or Year 148) is a season for God to receive praises from both heaven and earth.
4. Day 148 is a Song of Songs chapter 1-2 season. The first and second chapters of the 22nd book of the Bible are applicable to the first day of the 22nd week. In the second chapter, the Shulamite lavishes praise on her beloved. We are the Lord’s shulamite and we ought to lavish praise on Him in this season. The 149th season is for focusing on the Lord and praising His name.
Today, call heaven and earth to praise God and bow before Him. Join all creation in heaven and on earth to praise God.
5. Day 148 is a Genesis – Second Samuel day in the 21st week. Going through any week is like taking a journey through the Bible. Every week has an Old Testament side and a New Testament side. The first four days of the week belong to the Old Testament side and express the 39 books of the Old Testament. The remaining three days of the week constitute the New Testament side and express the 27 books of the New Testament. The first day of the week is the beginning of the Old Testament side of the week; and expresses the first 10 books of the Old Testament and the Bible. In the first 10 books of the Bible, God revealed Himself as Creator and Caretaker. He chose those who aligned with His purpose for blessings; and reserved judgment for those who disregard Him. The first 10 books began with the creation and fall of the man in the image and likeness of God; and ended with the emergence of the man after God’s heart sitting on the throne of God’s choice nation. David was absolutely loyal to God. He gave himself for whatever God wanted. This is a day of aligning with God and becoming a man (woman) after His heart.
DECREE AND DECLARE: God made us in His image and likeness to rule, have dominion, and impose His will on seasons; as He did with the seven days of creation. He decreed what He wanted for each day. We are to decree what is revealed concerning each day. Today, decree the collapse and end of expressions and manifestations of darkness in your life and world. Decree that expressions of light will triumph in this first day of the week. Today, make a quality decision to receive the word of the Lord and act on it without fear or doubts. Make a quality decision to walk in unconditional love. This is a day of sacrificial (tough) love. Today, take time to hear from God. Do not act without His direction. Follow what He says or shows. Today, seek the Lord against disasters in the week as you come into alignment. Call upon Him for mercy.
Happy 148 day!
