Day 137: The Mystery of May 17

Welcome to the 137th day of the year! Day 137 is the fourth day of the 20th week. It is the 39th day in the third 49 days. It is a fourth season day. It is May 17 in a clear year; and May 16 in a leap year. The Bible keys to understanding the 137th day are the 4th day of creation narrative, Psalm 137, Proverbs 13-16, the 39th book and chapters of the Bible.

Day 137 is a fourth day of creation day in the 20th week. God made the luminaries on the fourth day of creation. He made them to give light to the earth; to rule the day and the night, to divide the darkness and the light, to herald and regulate seasons. What God did on the fourth day was like a refinement and reinforcement of the work of the first day. This implies that darkness of the first season fights back in the fourth season. Day 137 is a season to watch, with light, against the return of darkness. The adversary appears in the fourth season. The fourth book and fourth chapters of the Bible bear witness to this. The temptations of Jesus are recorded in the fourth chapters of Matthew and Luke. The fourth chapters of the Bible are trial-chapters.

Day 137 is a book of Malachi day in the third 7 weeks of the year. Malachi is the 39th and last book of the Old Testament. It is the bridge-book between the Old Testament and New Testament. The 39th season is a test season. It is a bridge-season. Joseph was tempted in the 39th chapter of Genesis. President Jimmy Carter was the 39th President of the United States. His season was the bridge to the emergence of Ronald Reagan, the 40th President. The 39th season is bridge to a new day. The Second World War began in 1939. It is a season to protect your heart, against spiritual invasion, and put on your spiritual priestly garment of HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD as shown in Exodus 39.  Isaiah rebuked King Hezekiah for receiving Babylonian envoys in Isaiah 39. The fall of Jerusalem (to Babylon) is recorded in Jeremiah 39. Ezekiel 39 records the fall of Gog and the restoration of Israel to the land. Today is a bridge to a new season in the 20th week and in the third 7 weeks of the year. Be watchful.

Day 137 is a Psalm 137 day. Psalm 137 is about the Jewish captives sitting by the rivers of Babylon between Jerusalem and Babylon. They were in tears when they remembered Zion. Their captors wanted to hear songs of Zion from them but they could not sing. They were overwhelmed with the pain and shame of captivity.

They wept in a season of songs; and were captives in a season of triumphs.

Psalm 137:1-4 says, “By the rivers of Babylon, There we sat down, yea, we wept when we remembered Zion. [2] We hung our harps Upon the willows in the midst of it. [3] For there those who carried us away captive asked of us a song, And those who plundered us requested mirth, Saying, “Sing us one of the songs of Zion!” [4] How shall we sing the LORD’s song In a foreign land?

They remembered Jerusalem and vowed to never forget her”.

Psalm 137:5-7 says, “If I forget you, O Jerusalem, Let my right hand forget its skill! [6] If I do not remember you, Let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth- If I do not exalt Jerusalem Above my chief joy. [7] Remember, O LORD, against the sons of Edom The day of Jerusalem, Who said, “Raze it, raze it, To its very foundation!”

They cursed, Babylon, their enemy

Psalm 137:8-9 says, “O daughter of Babylon, who are to be destroyed, Happy the one who repays you as you have served us! [9] Happy the one who takes and dashes Your little ones against the rock!”

Day 137 is not a season of friendship with Babylon. It is a season of invasions. Today, reject Babylon in your heart. Refuse to entertain the lusts of Babylon. Refuse to give your holy self to the unclean demands of Babylon. Do not be overwhelmed with pain and grief from the past.

Day 137 is Obadiah – Malachi day in the 20th week. Every week is like a journey through the Bible. The first four days of the week is like going through the Old Testament. The last three days is the New Testament side of the week. The fourth day of the week expresses the last nine books of the Old Testament. The last 9 books of the Old Testament begin with Obadiah (the 31st book of the Bible) and ends with the book of Malachi (the 39th book of the Bible). Majority of the minor prophets have their books in this section of the Bible. The fourth section of the Old Testament is the bridge to the New Testament. They are books of correction and recovery. The fourth day is a bridge day. It is the middle of the week. It is a season of watchfulness

DECREE AND DECLARE: God made us in His image and likeness to rule, have dominion, and impose His will on seasons; as He did with the seven days of creation. He decreed what He wanted for each day. We are to decree what is revealed concerning each day. Today, decree the downfall of the wicked and the lifting and establishment of the just. Today, prophesy an end to something in your life, family, business, community, and nation. Today, raise your voice against wickedness and oppression wherever it is found. Prophesy! Prophesy!! Prophesy!!! Today, also pray to be more sensitive in the spirit; to pick up necessary signals that can help you triumph over the enemy and keep darkness away. Today, pray to be delivered from falling into temptation. Pray to be preoccupied with the person of God; and to be focused on His mandate and His revealed purpose for your life. Be careful to weigh every decision in light of God’s purpose for your life; and God’s purpose for the time. Today, proclaim an end to woes and declare the dawn of a new day. Happy 137th Day!

PRAYER: Pray that you would be delivered from the temptations of this day. Pray that this day would be a turning point one week, third 7 weeks, and the year.
